Happy New Year's Eve

The cabinets are in and finished!!!!!!!!!! They look amazing! I never thought in my first house I'd have such amazing cabinets! The features will make any girl drool. lol Then we finally picked out hardware and it finishes the look. I am so so happy!

The pulls are on the drawers and the knobs are on all the doors. I didn't take a picture of it yet, bc when I left they were finishing up, but I will update with a picture later.

Wes is still sick, and I'm really really pooped! I am really feeling pregnant now. The belly is getting in the way all the time now. lol and Aiden kicks soooooo much. I just need him to stay in there till Feb. Gotta finish the house first little guy. :-)

Wes' mom is going to throw me a baby shower and she thought of a great idea. We are going to have it after Aiden is born and throw it at our house, so it will be a baby shower/ house warming party! That's such a good idea! That way all the family, not just the ladies, can see what we've done to the house and they can see Aiden. I can't wait for it...might be late Feb/ early March.

Well my Bama blanket that I got for Christmas.....we LOVE IT! Especially Murphy. Curls up on it 24-7. So I got the bright idea of making him one and Aiden one, but much smaller than the one I have. Hopefully I can find a cute print with dogs on it for Murph. I think it will be a really cute baby blanket for Aiden. Plus it's homemade by his mommy. He better like it ;-) lol I'll have to go fabric shopping one day.

Well Wes and I have CRAZY New Year's plans.......staying at home and curling up on the couch. Have fun everyone else!

Last Vacation Day

We went to the house to add the last bit of concrete drywall in our bathroom so they can start tiling. EXCITING! Me and Wes were a great team and cut all the holes around the plumbing perfect!

While we were doing that Wes' mom was painting our bedroom. LOOOOOOVE the color. It's like a dusty blue. So calming and relaxing. She really liked it alot too, was thinking of making it the church library's wall color too. I did good picking it out. I can't wait to move in.


Then we picked out the kitchen table lighting and pendant lights to go over the bar and sink. They are gorgeous and very reasonable priced. Lights are expensive!! Dang....and having a big kitchen doesn't help. lol!
They are modern, but traditional. We live in a house built in the 70s, so we couldn't make it too modern. Now I just have to figure out what kind of hardware I want......so many LITTLE decisions. Annoying! lol ;-)

Getting the kitchen all put together makes me excited for holiday times and having family over. I have been looking forward to using my Aunt Mae's (Mudder's sister) china. I absolutely love it. Fancy and old, but not in your face fancy. Totally my style. I'm a big fan of silver and it's exactly what I wanted. It has the raised handpainted dots like the Autumn pattern from Lenox that makes it so special, however my pattern is Noritake. Eventually I will get a fabulous china cabinet to proudly display it....one day. lol There are more important things on our list first. But a girl can dream right?!

Tomorrow it's back to work for me......and I was just getting used to being off. At least it's a short week

Productive Day

Man today I was productive and on a vacation day too! lol

Went to the doctor. Everything was normal and good! :-) Then I went to work so I could pick up some moving boxes to pack some of the apartment up. Packed up 4 boxes full of stuff that I can live without these next few weeks. Did a load of laundry. Cleaned the kitchen. Unloaded the dishwasher. Cleaned the bathroom.

Then I went to Walmart to get paint. My mom got me some boxes to hang on the wall for Aiden's room, but they were offwhite. So I needed to pick up some white paint. Finished all 6 boxes today. Then as I'm walking out of Walmart I see the cutest thing ever! Fleece Camo outfit. I just had to get it, because Wes' dad wears camo pants all the time. So I had to get Aiden his own pair so he could match his Grande. I can just see it now! lol So cute! Can't wait for Aiden to get here!!!

Then I came home and fixed dinner. Breakfast Casserole. Yummy and sooooo simple. After my belly was full I started working on Adrienne's scrapbook. I finally got the pictures from her wedding in the mail, so I was a busy bee. Lucky I had already finished all of the pages from her showers. Tonight I worked on the Bachelorette Party, Rehearsal dinner, and the honeymoon pictures. I still haven't worked on the wedding pictures yet. lol the most important part, but I want to get all those pictures developed before I start it. And Adrienne just sent me the link to the photographer pictures, so I will be starting that section very soon. I hope to have it all finished before Aiden is born. I think that is very possible. However, it is turning out great and I know she will love it and will be a good keepsake for her and Trip.

Well I'm off to bed, spending all day at the house tomorrow. Wes has been working so hard there. So proud of him! I gotta decide where to put lights tomorrow....decisions! lol ;-) Goodnight

Ornament exchange

Today we went over to Uncle Ray's house for the ornament exchange with all of Wes' mom's family. The food was EXCELLENT! Felt like eating Christmas dinner all over again. Geez and I gotta go to the doctor Monday for my 2 week appointment and he's gonna be like "Allison, we need to watch what we eat." Which was soo hard to do these past 2 days, but hey it's Christmas. ;-) I did however stay away from the sweets and that was hard, bc MeeMaw's banana pudding kept calling my name. But I was good and didn't get any.

Then came time to draw numbers and start picking out ornaments. I loved the little boxes I brought ours in, little chinese take out boxes, perfect for ornaments. I drew 10 and Wes 20....his number was better bc we only had 26 numbers...I was like great watch me get the best ornament and someone steal it. ;-) A bunch of little theives! lol jk. Well I ended up picking a red ball ornament with white glitter on it that said "Love". At first we were all like.... "What does that say, bc the V looks like a H. lol but its still cute. Then Wes picked the best ornament I thought. I was a little santa. I just thought it looked so cute and kind of vintage.

Well then the stealing began....lol I had told Wes if someone takes his santa to steal mine so I can get the santa back and then the ornament is dead and no one can get it....Sneaky huh?! But smart! So in the end I ended up with the santa and wes got my original ornament. lol All in all we got some really cute ornaments. Plus it was really fun! There was some funny ornaments in the bunch. Good times!

Well all before this I went to Target to look for discounts on christmas decorations. Successful trip! I bought icicle lights for the house and clips so we don't have to put holes in the gutters or house. Then I found Murphy's stocking $0.49!! It's green and I'm going to hot glue or iron on a little dog. But that's for another day. I just couldn't find any pet ones that I liked, so I'm going to make his. And to top it off I bought a really cheap storage bin for all my finds. lol I have bins for every holiday. Gotta get organized before Aiden gets here. Plus I will be thanking myself later instead of going "Where is that ____" lol

This is truly been a great christmas! Wes, Aiden, and myself are truly blessed. Couldn't ask for better family and friends! Can't wait to see all the exciting things the new year will bring.

CHRISTMAS TIME

I had the best christmas! Yesterday we spent the night at Wes' parents and went to candlelight service. I just wish during it Aiden wouldn't have been pressing on my organs, because sitting in those old wooden pews did not feel great on my back. Oh well I survived!

We had Christmas dinner with Wes' parents, his bro and wife and their little one Lily, and grandmother. And after the service we opened gifts. I got so many amazing, wonderful things that I didn't expect at all! Like my AMAZING Alabama blanket that Wes' mom made. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!! Will have this draped over me during the whole game!!!!!

My christmas ornament collection is growing!!! Yeah!!! Regina gave us the pickle ornament, which we are really exciting about and looking forward to playing when Aiden gets bigger. Wes got a Grinch ornament, bc he loves that Christmas movie. I'd say by far the best gift to me was the cookbook from Tyler (Wes' bro) and Ciarra. It's a Williams-Sonoma weeknight cookbook. I'm always looking for fast easy meals to fix during the week since it's always so hectic with work. The other neat gift from Regina, Wes' mom, was this memo board from Southern Living. I can't wait to host a party and use it! Then the FUNNIEST gift was from Wes' dad.....it was a level that had little things that make it easy to hang pictures. Definitely not what I expected, but something we soooo needed. Something Steve would so get us. lol

Even though my sweet parents didn't spend christmas with us this year they gave us amazing gifts! 600 count Sheets for our bed!!!! Only wish I could actually sleep now to enjoy them....They also gave us a camcorder! We will sooooo be using that when Aiden comes. That way I can send them everything since they don't live here in Memphis with us. Plus I have to make those embarassing home videos for Aiden to show his future girlfriends. lolol I know I'm evil, but hey that's what parents do. Embarass their kids. ;-) Next year though we will be at my family's house, which will be fun bc Aiden will be here.

Last but not least, Wes gave me the sweetest card. I love him so much! Definitely knows how to make me smile. I gave him some new jeans and a sweater from Express, which he looked hot in. lol He gave me some stemless wine glasses....which I can't use yet, but once I can I'm looking forward to that nice glass of wine. The new Sugarland CD, which I love and I see myself jamming out to it while getting dressed and cleaning. lol nice image huh?! New cookie sheets, bc my other one was looking rough. And the best part DISNEY DVDs!! I'm a huge collector and you'd be amazed what I have. But it's what I grew up on and want Aiden to be watching. I also already have all the Carebear episodes and Smurfs for him too.

Well I'm exhausted.....the past 2 nights I have been tossing and turning and been soooooooooo uncomfortable. Looking forward to tomorrow ornament swap with ALL of Wes' family!!

My first blog!

So I'm working on the layout trying to get it just right....but it's okay for now.

I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!! This year will be really sad, becauseMudderis no longer with us. She passed away at age 92 last Thursday :-( She was my best friend and who I'd admired most in the world. I just wish she was here for Aiden's birth, but I know she will be watching over us and be with us always. Just makes me really sad. I miss her dearly!!!!!!

Wow! It's mine and Wes' first christmas as a family and can't wait for next year because little Aiden will be here! He has literally been killing me today. Moving so much! I actually slept more than 5 hours last night 10pm-10am. WHOA! I don't think I've done that seen college. I guess I really needed some rest....

I wish we had a tree this year, because I would hang this precious ornament my mom got me. I added Aiden's name on it. With all the house remodel and the apartment becoming a storage zone....putting up a tree this year was out of the question.

I also used my thrifty skills the other day at Pottery Barn OutletI LOVE that place!!!! I got Aiden his stocking and a reallly nice tree skirt for practically nothing! I was really excited and now I have a year to get Aiden's name monogrammed on it and Lambert put on the skirt. lol I think I can handle that ;-)

So much has gone on this year, especially in my family, that I decided it was time to start a blog. I got married, found out I was pregnant, my dad retired, my sister got married, my grandmother passed away, and then in Feb Aiden will be here and in April my brother is getting married. WHOA! SO MUCH!

I'm going to try to update everyday, but I can't promise. lol :-)
