DIY project 2

Over this long weekend I finally got to work on some projects around the house. FINISHED putting up all the missing ceramic pieces in the 2nd bathroom. If I must say so myself I did a GREAT job! Never done anything like it before....

Tools
Painter's blue tape
2 tubes Liquid Nail
1 tube of caulk
chisel
hammer
LOTS of paper towels

Ceramic Pieces
Toothbrush/Tumbler Holder
Towel Bar
Soap Dish
Toilet Paper Holder

Before pictures....so you can see what we were dealing with.

During...I think I might have gone a little over board with the tape, but I didn't want to be woken in the middle of the night hearing my pieces hitting the ground. lol
I used lots of Liquid Nail and used the chisel to take out all the all mortar and caulk to install the new pieces.

After pictures...Now it finally looks like a NORMAL bathroom! Now I have to figure out what to do with the last hole in the wall....ideas people ideas!

Next project. Making our headboard!! I can't wait I love the fabric I picked out with Regina and of course Baby Aiden :-) I finally got all the supplies, so I'll update with that project later.

Holiday Weekend!

Hooray for the holiday weekend!!! And the fact I DON'T have to work! AHHH! Excitement! Leaving work today at 3 and not returning till Tuesday. A break well needed!

On a different note. Today was weighing day. I hate Friday mornings just for this reason. But it was good news! Since I've had Aiden 4 months ago practically I've lost 44 lbs! Granted Aiden was 10 of that, but still in my head I can think it's 44. lol

I've liked Weight Watchers so far. I still eat whatever I want. Including the occasional ice cream, chips, burger, etc. I can't starve myself. :-) The only thing that makes it difficult about watching what I eat is I have to eat alot to still produce milk for baby boy.
With him eating like 6 oz bottles at a time now it's getting harder for me to provide every meal for him all day. So now comes the decision do I stop breastfeeding since when I'm gone at work he eats about 4 bottles but I can only produce 2...or do I keep giving him whatever I can. Guess I'll ask the doctor at his next appointment.

Side note: I'm getting excited to go to Aiden's next appt. To see how much my little linebacker has grown! Plus I'll be off that day since he's getting more shots. With that being said I purchase his big boy seat for my car today. Weird to think he will be out of his infant seat in NO TIME. growing up soooo fast.

6 years

Can't believe it's been 6 years!

Every year around this time the agency wants me to share my story. Every year I say no. Not because I am ashamed or embarrassed. But its not something I want to talk about. Obviously after 6 year it still gets me upset. So why on earth would I want to make myself sad or cry?

Plus, the times I have tried to actually share my story, I've left more angry and upset with the other person. I absolutely HATE when people say "oh I know how you feel" or "oh there are other people out there like you"...The only way those could EVER be true is if you walked in my shoes. Which you haven't. Just because there are other women out there that have done adoption does not mean we experience the same things. Only one part of our story is the same. Just don't try to relate to someone when trying to "comfort" them. Crossing over the line when you do. I mean honestly what would be the point of sharing my story when no one's story is the same. I can't teach anyone anything. You have to learn from your OWN experiences not mine.

One of the most important things I did learn from it all is that you are alone. Some people might say what no, you've got friends & family. That might be true, but in the end. You are alone. No one else can make decisions about your life other than you. Your friends and family can't/won't always be there to support you. You gotta do it for yourself, because the decision you make your friends and family might not agree with or like. So in the end you are alone. Have to do what is best for you, because you're the one that has to live with yourself.
Day. and night.

Frustration= new layout

So only I would get a speeding ticket for going 5 miles over the speed limit! You've got to be kidding me!! Just another thing going bad this week on top of my piles of paperwork I have to do because of someone's mistake. PRAYING FOR THIS WEEK TO BE OVER!!!!!!!

So as I wait to work through my lunch break, since to fix the problem can only happen while people are out of the system....I am going to relieve stress by updating my blog.

Thank god things like this make me happy or I'd be pulling my hair out right now.

**Update: For some reason this new layout makes me think of the beach...so its staying for a bit

Workday / Time Frustrations

So I thought today was going to be easy. I was severely WRONG! All I needed to do was push CPB conversion files into APO generate a statistical forecast, populate consensus, and push to BW.
Man, was I wrong. I tried to execute step 1. ERROR ERROR ERROR! WTF!!!!!! Someone, somehow messed up my code when we moved from the Production support box to Production. UGH. I've been testing this in all environments since May and never EVER got this. Full day of Debugging for me. I wish people wouldn't touch other people's stuff without consulting with them. Make my life easier......

Side note:
I hate how all the celebrities/stay at home moms bounce right back into pre-pregnancy shape.
I can't even seem to fit working out in my schedule, which is very frustrating.

I work from 6-6 Mon-Fri and I'm up till 9:30-10. So I have four hours to fit:
*cooking
*eating
*dishes
*spending QT with Wes and Aiden

Sooo where is that hour of working out that I need. Much less 30 minutes, because most the time I'm exhausted and working out in the LAST thing on my mind.

Then you might say the weekend......riiiight my weekend is full of grocery shopping, cleaning, doing all that laundry I missed during the week, and spending more QT with my husband and son. Then the free time I do have, I just want to relax!

So again.....where is that time! So frustrating.

Cleaning Projects Done

Went through all my jewelry and my clothes....now on to shoes! Goodwill is going to love me...time to bless others since I'm pretty darn blessed myself! Share the wealth.

Also, cleaned the bathroom head to toe too. Yeah! This week when I'm work Wes is going to put up the bathroom accessories...So I'll update with pictures.

Now. I finally decluttered and FINISHED Aiden's room. (Everything, including a new rug, but his sun blocking curtains are up. Yah! So proud of myself.

Before

After

I removed the thousands of picture frames he had on his chest and narrowed it down the 2 plus his adorable Crane Frog Humidifier. Also you can see his new valance and laundry basket.

Before

After

I moved his toy bin over there and his random items went into the other bins....It's hard to organize things that don't go together. This will have to do for now. I'm hoping one day LATER down the road Wes' dad can build Aiden a toy bin like the ones at Land of Nod. He built one for Lily and it was AMAZING!

Before

After

This part of the room drove me crazy! All those books now have a nice home. I love the glass cup, bowl, and dish Gabby got Aiden, but I wanted a safe way to display it. I think I accomplished that now. Hehe did you see I found a spot for the buddha?! Also, that car seat won't be in his room, because soon we will be using it! WHOA!

I also finally put up the boxes on the walls. Let me say it took FOREVER. 1. because I'm blind and can't tell if things are straight 2. the pattern I picked 3. sooo many boxes. lol But it turned out cute.

Great way to display the cute items both his grandparents got him. The little piggy bank is from my parents, and the picture frame is from Wes'. I made the puzzle and crayon display which I'm glad are on the wall. They aren't perfect, but oh well I still like them.

Here are some other shots of his crib. His name was a project I did while he was still in my belly. Still one of my favorites! Gonna be sad day when hes like "Mommy I don't want that up anymore"....

Side note: baby boy is GROWING!!!!!!! I can't believe he's already 27 inches! Let you know how big that is....his sleeper is a Carter's 9month outfit, hes long and big enough for it. WHOA! As you can see there are NO pillows underneath him and his feet are flat on the floor....soon we will have to move it up to position 2.

So cute sleeping in his jumper

I'm a weirdo

Okay, so I'm starting a project this weekend...and it's called CLEANING and ORGANIZING! I swear my house is driving me crazy!!! But I've been too tired after work these days to do anything.

So to start, I hate the way Aiden's shelves are decorated. So messy, so I'm getting rid of stuff that doesn't make sense. I need to find little boxes to put his books in neatly. I'll take a before and after picture later of my results.

Next project cleaning out my closet. Isn't it hard to say to yourself will I ever wear this, because you always say "yes, eventually" or "after I lose those 5 lbs" etc. Well for real if I never wear it now I'm getting rid of it. So overwhelming.

Need to desperately simplify life.

So today during my lunch break I found some great finds....FINALLY found Aiden a laundry basket and a lime green buddha. Yes, a LIME green buddha! haha ONLY I WOULD BUY A LIME GREEN BUDDHA!! But I mean I do call him baby buddha, so I felt it was fitting. I kinda think I want to spray paint it though.....but what color.........Ideas!?

Quick, Cheap DIY projects

So many people know me and Wes bought a repo home, and COMPLETELY gutted and customized the whole house (THANKS GABBY & GRANDE!!)except the 2nd bathroom. Well we are finally getting around to finishing it up to an acceptable place now.
Here is where is started. YUCK!

Between the the weird wooden racks, ONE random decorative tile, missing accessories creating holes in the ceramic walls (soap dish & towel holder) equals one UGLY bathroom. And lets not mention the vanity is on its last leg, and the sick purple walls and the old school medicine cabinet. THANK GOODNESS THIS IS GONE!!

1)A new medicine cabinet, which I love from Lowes. It's huge!
2)Painted the vanity black
3)Installed new vanity lights to give it a modern touch
4)Painted walls red (It's the non-cheesy Bama bathroom)
All this gave this result:

Then came the task of ordering new ceramic accessories for all the holes and figure out ways to cover up the holes and weird decorative tile by the sinks.

5)Decorative Tile fix-old school toothbrush/tumbler holder to place right over.
6)Make picture to cover up two missing tiles till re-glazing time. (Thanks to Sherry) It took me forever to decide what kind of picture to put that wouldn't compete with the walls and take away from the theme. Then it came to me! ALPHABET PHOTOGRAPHY! So I found online the letters to spell Lambert. Printed them at home. Found a $5 frame at Walmart. Painted it the same color black as the vanity. Used sticky back velcro. We have a beautiful result for $8!!!

Now that all the accessories came in I hope this weekend we can fix the rest of the bathroom!!! YAH! I can't wait to see the result. I like the fact I'm keeping with the style of the house and not making it modern. Eventually I want to re-glaze all the walls white. Replace the vanity. Finally replace the tile floor with black and white penny tiles.

Next project. Hanging Aiden's curtain rods and valances since Gabby is working on his curtains. Because big boy is going to start to sleep in his room!!!

Well I bought cheapo double rods from Walmart. I didn't like the way they looked. So I bought some teal ribbon and wrapped it around the rod. Turned out great!!! hehe so both rods ended up being less than $9. Awesome!!! Sorry the pictures are dark, my camera was being weird.

Pictures

Aiden was so active this morning, so I put him in his jumperoo and he went to town! Amazing how strong his legs are. I swear he is going to be crawling soon! Very Soon!

After capturing those cute moments I began taking his 3 months pictures. I wanted to take some in his play outfit and his dressy one....well needless to say I got one of those :-) He was sooo over taking pictures by the time the dressy outfit was put on.

However, I did FINALLY take a picture with his famous bubble making. He does it more and more these days. So cute!

After changing his clothes, I let him be naked boy for his nap time. Caught him drooling. Mr. McDrooly!
