Early Mornings

So Aiden has been getting on these kicks for the past couple days of waking up at 5:40ish.....but baby! My alarm isn't set until 6am.....that's precious 20 minutes! Which I get up change him, make him a bottle, and put him on his blanket because what time is it?! PLAY TIME!...but baby! Mommy's tired and when 6am rolls around that snooze button is hit until about 6:20. UGH! If you weren't so darn cute mommy would really be upset. All it takes is one look, a big smile, a cute noise, and I melt.

Yesterday, mommy and daddy headed out for a night on the town. Redbirds game! Man, was the weather great! Some of our friends joined us, and it was a fun evening! We had to leave around the 6th inning because it was already 9pm and we missed our little man. However, when we got to Gabby and Grande's he was sprawled out with the paci in the mouth in their bed. He apparently even had snuggle time with Grande. He loves nothing more than to snuggle up on your belly and make you start sweating! Such a hot potato!

More cute Aiden stories...so on Sunday I was trying out a new product on our wood floors. So I sent Wes and Aiden to the grandparents, since I didn't know how bad the smell was going to be. Old product = Murphy's oil = SMELLY!!! It works, but you definitely need to vent your house afterwards. New product = Pledge = Refreshing smell!! It won me over. The smell didn't knock me down. The floors look great. However, I did practically use the whole bottle in one day, but practically every room in the house has wood floors, so...not so bad. The thing I liked about it was you don't have to dilute it like Murphy's oil. Just squirt on and mop. EASY! Plus I think it would be safe enough to use with Aiden in the house.

So while I'm doing this Aiden is having a blast with Lily (Wes's brother's 2.5 year old daughter). Kissing on her, playing with her, etc. I swear he LOOOOVES her and she loves him! So freakin cute to see them play together. It's good to see him interacting with little people.

BTW Milestone: Aiden can now sit up without support 90% of the time now. His daddy has been working with him. YAH Aiden!!

Thrift Store Finds

This weekend was fun! On Saturday, I ran some errands with Regina and Chris and of course little man.

1st stop Hancock Fabrics. They had their patterns on sale plus I needed to pick up a few inches of Christmas fabric for my Christmas gifts for the coworkers. I'm giving them some jelly that we made a few weeks back. If I waited to get the fabric for the tops I'd be too late come Christmas time. But excellent selection!

Aiden was cute like always. Picture this. Aiden in the stroller, both hands sticking out running his hands through all the fabric as we went down the isle. Then all of the sudden out of no where he'd grab one! lol Oh is that the one you like little man?! He would just smile and let go of it so we could continue.

2nd stop Salvation Army. Find....Buffet and a bunch of books for Aiden. Thrift stores are the best places for books! You can't beat 49 cents! And the buffet, I didn't spot it Regina did and oh how I'm happy she did. It's PERFECT! Perfect size, perfect color! I've desperately needed something to store my China in, and something to put on our huge blank wall in the kitchen. It's got a little love on it, but hey that's what makes it even better! Plus you can't beat $130 for a mahogany buffet! The pictures don't do it justice, taken with cellphone, but I'll update when I get finished cleaning it and finally use the Pier 1 card to decorate the top.

Now that I have a place to store my china...maybe I'll actually use it?! It was Mudder sister's pattern which I fell in love with when I first saw it because of the simplicity (gray, white, and silver)and it has the raised paint! Hopefully I won't every break any pieces, because it's a discontinued pattern. :-(

I leave on a cute note....What do you see in the picture? Yes, that is Aiden passed out hugging his bottle! lol Not a toy but a bottle...I guess we know what he loves the most :-)

Friends

My dear friend Matias is in town for the next 10 days all the way from Barcelona, Spain! We met when we both co-oped at IP back in 2007 and just clicked. Funny thing was we both ended up getting full-time positions, so it was like our bond never ended. It was a sad day when he left IP...my lunch buddy went away. :-(

So needless to say I was sooo sooo happy to see him! He even got to meet the little man too! The whole dinner Aiden was amazing like normal checking out all the sights and kept staring Matias down so it was funny. I had Aiden in my lap and whatever we grabbed from the table Aiden wanted. The menu. The napkin. The plate. The beer. haha I think it was the cup mainly, but since it was Flaming Stone we will say it was the beer :-) Man is he getting fast and that eye coordination is really picking up.

Then Matias realized Aiden was a chick magnet because all these group of ladies came up googling over him. So that brought the statement "Can I borrow your baby?" hahahaha OH MATIAS!

It was a nice dinner made me realize how much I miss that kid! Hard to find bffs like that these days.

Dog Lover

Okay, we officially have a DOG LOVER! It's not just Murphy...even Tanner got some lovin!

That's Aiden's seat every night while I cook dinner. He can see me and he can play with Murphy. Two for one! Wes caught them playing :-) Aiden just giggles and loves batting at Murphy. So adorable

Then Wes sends me a picture from today at Gabby and Grande's....he apparently was snuggling with Tanner while watching tv. Better not let Murph find out Aiden. :-) And no Tanner isn't possessed. lol Demon eyes!

Blanket Sorta Successful

I talked to my brother this morning checking on his puppy. Poor little Mav has been scratching himself crazy! Hence the picture....But luckily the shot will work and he will back to his normal self again. BTW the vet also informed him that Frontline doesn't work anymore. Fleas are immune to it....GREAT! :-(

Other news...I finally finished the blanket for Aiden I had been saying I was going to make for months now.

In the picture it looks okay...my squares aren't perfect....nor are my straight lines around the bias tape...but OH WELL. It's my 1st one I've ever made...so work in progress. Hopefully I learned from this one what do to on the next one. I don't think Aiden cares regardless. It's made with love. :-) That's what people say when it looks bad. hahaha
Finished Product:

My first attempt with bias tape well didn't turn out how I wanted it, so I decided to go with a thicker stripe. Needless to say IT'S HARD! ugh had to resew over all the spots where I didn't catch it in the back....OH WELL.....I still think it's cute and Aiden was cuddling with it all yesterday.
First Attempt:

My next one for the Pack n' Play will be better. We have to start using that now so we can use the restroom without worrying about him. I like to call it the Mobile Baby Jail Cell. lol Yesterday, I went to the grocery store came in, Wes was in the shower, I didn't hear Boo so I thought he was asleep. So I was very quiet unpacking the bags. Wes got out of the shower and started talking then Boo started babbling...He was in the Pack n' Play just enjoying himself. I was like OMG I had no idea lol I thought he was in his crib. He was just so quiet....which is rare with all his noise maker toys.

This is how we find him lately.....BUTT IN AIR PASSED OUT. :-) I get a good chuckle from it daily. Kids really do the cutest things ever. If I saw Wes doing that I'd be like um yeah.....what is with you?! But a baby...it's adorable. Weird huh?!

Feeding

Aiden now officially is a pro at feeding himself. YA! We have tried sippy cups a few times but it still confuses him. So we are sticking with bottles.

GOOD JOB BABY BOY! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

Old days...

There are days like today I miss web design. Gosh I loved doing it in college for

Roll Tide
UA Business Website
SOMS

I wouldn't call it the best gig because I couldn't be truly creative with them. But I did enjoy working on them back in the day.

I find it super easy to code in HTML and love the end results....probably why I change my blog like all the time! lol I like to try new techniques.

Today is a LAZY day at work....I hate waiting on people. It's like waiting for paint to dry. I have three issues:

1. I'm waiting on the business to test my functionality before I move it into production.
2. I'm waiting on new changes to get approved so I can work on them.
3. I'm waiting on the business to decide what they want before I work on the programs.

A lot of waiting...but I guess it's not a bad thing to have a slow Monday. Normally it's the opposite.

On that note, since I'm done added my new dividers on the blog and sidebar I will look for socket covers. Baby boy is getting to active to not have them. I did get him two developmental toys the other day. Of course cheaper than what you see there. Thrify Mom I am :-)

Stacker

Wes' parents have one and at a young age Aiden always loved it.

Ball

This will encourage him to crawl....Hope that's not a bad thing! :-) Makes the cutest noises.

Weekend Projects Complete

I definitely have had a great weekend!

My amazing in-laws watch Aiden on Saturday so me and Wes could join friends for dinner. Man was it yummy! I love BOSCOS! We decided we should start doing that once a month. Before it was just hard leaving Aiden, but he's at the age now where I feel okay with it.

I think I have failed to mention this before but Wes' parents are so good to Aiden. Each month they put money in his savings account. Aiden doesn't know it yet, but when it comes time for college he will truly appreciate it. I know we do! We are so blessed!! Luckiest girl in the world to have such caring in-laws! Don't know what we would do without them.

Today I was a cleaning machine. Cleaned the living room top to bottom...all during Aiden's 1 hour nap! The rest of the time he was a needy boy. Poor teeth bothering him. However, then out of no where he was content with playing with his sing-along book Gabby got him for Easter. So mommy got to clean Aiden's room from top to bottom. YAH!!!

After I finished with that I soothed Aiden for about 30 minutes then he passed out on me. lol So he's finally taking another nap...going on 1 hour right now. YAH!

What else did I accomplish?! I made Aiden a new changing pad cover. I love it. The owl piece is flannel and the blue is a soft cuddly fabric. I even covered his chair in the owl print too.

But what about that blanket I was going to make?!?!?! Well I didn't start it. I kept trying to decide what I wanted to do. But I have it now, so maybe I'll get to start that this week or next weekend. It's going to turn out SOOO CUTE! I can't wait, but here are the fabrics I'm using:

Motivation

This morning I got to sleep in till 7:30am. HEAVEN! Baby boy has been an angel today! We went on new adventures together. So we all piled in the car. Daddy drove, mommy in the back seat since it was baby boy's feeding time.

Trip 1: Car wash
He was AMAZED! The water, noise, the wipers.....all new things. His eyes said it all and the fact he stopped drinking his bottle.

Trip 2: Meemaw's house (Aiden's great grandmother)
Perfect angel like always! Not fussy one bit. He enjoyed looking at Meemaw, like "Who's this lady?""She's not mommy?! Where's mommy?!" He even took an adventure on her floor exploring all the new sights.

Later tonight we will take Trip 3: Park. Time for mommy and Aiden to go on their nightly walk. But for right now....its NAP TIME!!! AHHHH He's been out for about 2 hours now. Where did this come from?!

Side note: I figured out a never fail motivation to get Aiden to crawl. What is it?!?!

TV REMOTE and CELLPHONE

I think it has something to do with the buttons. It is adorable. I will record it one day and post it. Looking forward to daddy coming home from going to the movies with Grande so mommy can get to work on Aiden's blanket. But for now I'm going to work on a new changing pad cover.

Walking

Walking = Success!

Aiden loved it! Sorry the picture is bad, but I didn't want to disturb him. He slept practically the whole time. ADORABLE! He must have liked the vibration. Now I just need to find new places to walk.

On Wednesday night Aiden did NOT sleep good, so mommy didn't sleep good.
He didn't go to sleep until 11:30pm.
Woke up 1am.
Mommy had to soothe him till 3am.
We both passed on on his blanket on the floor.
Mommy woke up at 6:20am to my alarm. Aiden woke up.
Mommy had to soothe him til 7am. Mommy informed work she would be coming in late.
We both passed on on his blanket on the floor.
Mommy woke back up at 9am.

EXHAUSTED!!!!! Needless to say Mommy worked from home the rest of the day.
He didn't even nap well yesterday. He finally passed out at 6pm and slept till 8pm. I was SOOO worried we would have a repeat of the night before but thankfully he went back to sleep with no struggle at 10pm and was still asleep when I left at 7:20am.

PRAISE THE LORD! This fighting for nap time and bedtime is EXHAUSTING...so when are these teeth done coming in?!?!?! I remember the good ole days...

This weekend I hope to accomplish my projects I didn't get to do last weekend. But first I must CLEAN! At least I am leaving early today so I can get a head start. YAH!!!! So I leave with the most adorable picture ever...the two loves of my life!

Life Changing

So I get into work check my email and what do I see?!?!

MY MANAGER IS GETTING MARRIED!

YAH! When he was telling me the story he was beaming. So cute! What better day to get married on 1/01/11. So happy for him and Julie! I joked with him saying "So when am I going to see a little Jeff running around?!" :-)

So as I was talking with him I asked him how he got into running. How he did it. I guess you should know some information before or those questions sound silly.

2 years ago my manager over 100 pounds heavier. The only form of exercise he did to burn off the weight was running. I couldn't imagine running with all that weight. Shoot I can't imagine myself running with the weight I have.

So here's how he did it: Start out slow. Took him 9 months before he ran his first 10K.

Start off running 2 minutes, then walk 2 minutes for 30 minutes. Then increase by a minute every week. Once you hit 30 minutes then add additional 30 minutes to your total time.

Sounds simply huh? I think I could handle that. I really need to start doing something. So, I'm going to start Wednesday. I will give updates.

BTW Aiden slept AMAZING last night!!!!!! No wake ups or fighting to fall asleep. However, I'm still exhausted. Waking up this AM was very tough...is it really only Tuesday?!?! But hey COOKBOOK CLUB tonight!! Peach salsa ready to go.

Video Monitors

So I probably should have registered for a VIDEO monitor instead of a sound monitor. Oh well live and learn....now I'm trying to figure out what is the best one. Since Aiden is such a rolly polly now it would be nice to have instead of having to walk in there. It's not because I'm lazy, but if he sees me hes like "MOMMY!! Come get me!" even if its at like 3am...not what mommy wants.

Needless to say the reviews are all mixed. A lot of them say if you have WIFI it's pointless. hmm That won't do.

So I need some help ladies, because of right now I can't figure out what is the best one to get. Any suggestions?

6 months!

Stats:
Weight: 24 pounds
Length: 28.5 inches
Size 3 diapers
12 month clothes
Sleeping Pattern: Usually 9pm to 7am...however because of the teething it's 10:30pm to about 6am with cries in the night. :-(
Eating Pattern: 4to5 5oz bottles a day and 2 things of baby food a day (Squash and Sweet Potatoes win hands down)

Milestones: 3 teeth (2 bottom front teeth, 1 top tooth by where the front teeth would be); Can get on all fours!! Got sick for the 1st time. Can hold the bottle all by himself.

Likes:
*Soft blankets
*Rolling/Army style crawling on the floor
*The blinking lights on the modem. Makes me want to rip it from the wall
*Bathtime= Splash time= Mommy getting wet and that's funny
*When Daddy throws me in the air and attacks me because it's funny

Dislikes:
*Teething!! Never wants mommy to let me go when my teeth are acting up!
*Diarrhea. I had my 1st viral infection (lasted 2 days thank goodness)
*Huggies diapers! They are not made for boys! Pampers all the way! No accidents on myself in the middle of the night.
*Diaper changing time, I just want to flip and Mommy doesn't let me

So much has gone on with him this past month! We really are hitting milestones left and right. Teeth being number 1. UGH. Make long nights. However now he can hold the bottle himself so that does make feeding time easier. I can pop in the bottle and get to doing something else....cleaning, washing, restocking. Always something.

We were at the doctor yesterday and then all the sudden he pops to his knees and the doc goes "OH MY! Yes he's going to be crawl very VERY soon!" I was like no hes never done that before! AH how exciting!! Luckily he's an active baby so that weight will drop as soon as he figures out how to crawl, so the doc isn't worried about it.

So on that note, I leave with pictures....I made the little outfit he's wearing. Its DEFINITELY to big for him, I might add a buttons to bring in the sides. When I was making it I just didn't want to make it too small and did the opposite. OOPS. Oh well he still looks cute in it. I LOOOOOOOOOVE HIM SOOOOO MUCH! MY WORLD.

Now daddy just needs to get home from his baseball game. Mommy has to go pick up some peaches. Cookbook club Tuesday and I need to bring a dish with peaches.

These were shot after the doctor appt. He was PASSED OUT!

2nd tooth

One day I will get a picture of this, but its hard to do when all Aiden wants to do is chew on your finger as you open his mouth.

But we have a 2nd tooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAH!

It's to the right of the 1st tooth. Yah for having his bottom front teeth. Well they aren't all the way out, but definitely are getting there. Poor baby! Only 18 more to go. :-(

We have ourselves a CHOMPER!

Puppy Love

Tonight's plan: Movie time with the hubby and munkin. YAH! Fantastic Mr. Fox. I heard good reviews on this, thanks to Regina and Netflix it's possible for me to see it too!

During my lunch break today I got the cutest fabric to make Aiden a John John. Thanks to my free pattern from Prudent Baby! That's the weekend's project while Wes is playing his baseball games. Nap Time=Craft Time! It's white background with red, yellow, royal blue dinos. PRECIOUS! This is my first time to attempt, so hopefully it will be a success!

Speaking of fabrics....HELLO WHY IS MINKY FABRIC SOOOO EXPENSIVE?!?! I am on the hunt to find it under $12 please! GEEZ! I want that to be the backing to a blanket I'm going to make.

This friday is Aiden's 6 month doctor appt. WOW!
So since baby boy is SOO active now I can't just leave him on the blanket and walk away anymore. He has this weird obsession with the router (blinking lights) and likes to tug on it. So last night while I was cooking delicious steaks & green beans baby boy was in his highchair. Being Adorable!! He kept laughing, smiling, drooling on Murphy. PRECIOUS! It was making me laugh. They will soon be good friends. I even caught some cute pictures of the two

WHY HELLO THERE MURPH

MURPH BEING THE PROTECTOR

HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING FRIEND?

WHATCA GOT THERE? A TOY I CAN CHEW ON?

HEY THAT TICKLES! I CAN'T SEE YOU WHEN YOU LICK MY FEET

Jelly

Yesterday Erica, Regina, Jane, Chris, and myself were jelly making machines! We made raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, strawberry pepper, and raspberry pepper. They were AMAZING!!!!! So much better than store bought.

I'm giving some to my coworkers. Perfect Christmas gifts! I'm giving some to my mom. I think she would love the blueberry jelly. Now I just need to find somewhere to store it all. lol Probably in the cabinet with all the dead space.

Aiden came with me and enjoyed being with all the girls. He did however want mommy to hold him practically the whole time and fought himself when it came to nap time. He was still good as always, but my arms got a WORKOUT!! During lunch time he was amazed with the plastic covering on Chris' table. Keep kicking his feet to hear it crinkle. Silly boy!

Man the past two days I have had soo much sleep 10-8 yesterday and 9-7 today. OMG, but I've just been soo tired! Today is definitely cleaning day! Lots of laundry to do and vacuuming/dusting. So I leave with some cute pictures I look of Aiden's snuggle time and the promised pictures of some of the cute outfits I got the other day.
