This weekend was my niece, Lily, 3rd birthday party at Build-a-Bear. It was Aiden's nap time, so he was a little out of it and cranky. However, he did pick out an adorable puppy. I let him touch all of the animals, and he just couldn't let go of the dog. Probably because it was soo soft, and sorta looks like Murphy. The little heart that goes inside barely made it. He definitely wouldn't let go of it. Then right before we headed up to the food court he decided to puke on me. LOVELY! He hasn't done that in MONTHS....ugh! Once we ate a little bit and saw Lily open presents it was time to head home, and as soon as we put Aiden in the stroller he was OUT! Poor little guy was exhausted. It was a fun Saturday surrounded with family!

I finally finished staining all the trim work on the vanity. This week it will be attached to have the final coat and poly put on. YAH! Almost there! Doesn't it look great?!?! I even attached the door handles. Now I just need to attach the remainder of the baseboard, paint the baseboard, repaint the walls, and way down the road get a cabinet for above the toilet. THEN it will be complete :-) But it's looking great, and I love it!
I also started working on another little project, since the other bathroom really won't be used on a daily basis. Decorative hand towels. So I bought red and black hand towels and sewed on some houndstooth fabric. ROLL TIDE! I am glad the red goes with the wall. I was worried, because you wouldn't believe how many shades of red there are.
Other random update, I love my new OXO containers! OMG! No more rice, noodles, cereal, etc falling out of open bags. You know you are old when you want containers for your birthday. haha I already told Wes that's what I want. Two more big containers for cereal. I am such a dork, but they are amazing!!
Aiden is so adorable trying to ride his dragon. He can't touch the ground, so he leans to one side when trying to push off. But at least he is trying, so for now he rolls back and forth to Mommy and Daddy. Such a cutie! I'll have to record him using his walker soon. He gets soo excited walking and gets upset if you try to take him off it.

Well off to bed, busy day at work tomorrow and the start of my busy time...but at least I got approved for only a 4 day week! YAH!!! I told them I would check in on weekend for emails and if it was something urgent on Friday just to call. All I am doing it making the cake and getting balloons, so nothing I couldn't stop. Goodnight! But here's a sneak peak at Aiden's new book shelf/toy box made by Grande! Gonna love this in his room!! One lucky kid!
Last Friday before Aiden's bedtime we all curled up around the tv to watch "Despicable Me". Hilarious btw. Well, Aiden was mesmerized as you can see from the pic. He got tired of me holding him so got down an started lounging on the ottoman. Mesmerized! I think it was the alien voices...
The next set of pictures I also captured on my phone, so not the best quality, tell a story. Lately Aiden has been testing his boundaries....Can I go in there? Can I touch that? Can I eat this? etc. So this is a test of Can I touch the picture frame and look at that gorgeous baby, ME!
So, it starts with Gotta, check and see if the coast is clear. Oh Mommy, don't I look adorable!
Okay, here I go! I'm gonna reach for it!! Almost there....Aiden! No! Do not touch that!
But Mommy! I want to see myself......Aiden! No! Don't make me come over there and get your butt! No means No!
Okay! I better let go this time, but I will be back to try again later....So yeah the testing has begun! Ugh! At least I get good laughs from it when he does his pout and fake cry when I say "No".
I know I have posted a little about Aiden's party, but this one is all about CAKE! I am attempting to make it. Yes, I could go get one from Kroger, and I may end up doing it if I miserably fail, but where's the fun in that?!?! So here is the plans....excuse my HORRIBLE attempt at modifying Paint haha. But its just a sketch mainly for ME :-)
The big cake:
Aiden's smash cake, a construction hat!:
So last week I began making the small items for the cake, so the Friday before I can just put everything together. Off I went making the caution signs, bricks, and mini construction hats. Luckily, I found small sunflowers at Michaels, so I don't have to make those. I know what you are thinking....sunflowers?! That's so girly! But Bob lives in Sunflower Valley, so its appropriate. :-) I think my favorite part is the Brown Sugar. It really looks like dirt.
After completing the small task on I went to the bulk of the coloring the fondant. OMG!!! Now I know why people buy cakes and why wedding cakes are soo expensive! My hands were throbbing after! OMG! That is coming from someone who constantly uses their hands (typing on a keyboard). I bet cake makers get arthritis quicker. But it was so worth it and the colors turned out great!

I really hope I can pull this off, but every knows I'm NOT a baker. Seriously, I can follow directions but something goes wrong. The cake either crumbles, burns, isn't done, sticks to the bottom, etc. So I am prepared with backup cake mixes, and if I run out I give in and just going to get a sheet cake from Kroger. So wish me luck!!
I have decided one thing after preparing this party. I only want to do parties on the big bdays 1, 5, 10, 13, 16, and probably 18 will be the last one we will do. lol The other birthdays I just want to keep it low key and have family dinners. I'll still attempt to make the cakes, but on a smaller scale. I just know myself and would want to do something bigger and better each year and that's totally not important. Being together is the most important thing. So birthday cake and Aiden's favorite dish will be on the menu that day and that following weekend we will do whatever he want (movie, park, etc). I still can't believe my little boy will be 1 in less than 2 weeks!!! Where has the time gone?!?! As I tear up.
This was a very productive amazing weekend here at the Lamberts.
1. All christmas lights are packed up and in the attic!
2. Finished 3 coats on the trim for the vanity. I think that might be it, but I'm wait for it to completely dry. ALMOST done!!! Once that is up next is the mirror and putting up the handles.
3. Kitchen is CLEANED, under the sink is organized, pantry organized and labeled (FOR REAL!!!! I never thought I'd get around to that)
As I have mentioned before being out in the country brings little creatures aka field mice in during the cold weather. I have been the dominant mouse killer in the garage, but I think I have officially been beat. So as me and Wes are cleaning under the sink he notices something in one of the bins. Little beady eyes! A MOUSE! So then we are running around trying to get things to capture it with, check, slowly take everything out and find NOTHING! Where did that little guy go?! Before you know it I see Murphy growling mean at the oven. I look underneath see nothing, but he is continuing to growl and bark. So we decide to pull it out..OMG a mouse! It pops into the warming drawer. Then Wes slowly opens it and out the mouse jumps. And before we know it, like it was a scene from Animal Planet, Murph scoops up that mouse in his mouth and kills it with one bite then drops it. OMG COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!! At that moment we were like holy crap I knew there was a good reason for him to be in the kitchen. Protecting his family from the deadly mice. hahaha So for the rest of the afternoon he was guarding the oven double checking if there are any more. Such a good dog!!!!! Needless to say he got treats that day!
4. Organized the Man room. Put both desks on one wall, moved the filing cabinet to the wall, organized the desks, hooked up the new printer, and hung pictures! YAH! Still have some more things to hang, and we are still on the hunt for the perfect bookcase but it is a GREAT improvement!
I will post pictures later of our progress. The main thing I was excited to hang was our 1 year anniversary present (PAPER, which is supposed to symbolize the strength obtained from the interlocking fibres). Once I hung it I warned Wes "Now you better never forget our anniversary!" haha. It looks like the picture below, but with our information. I loved it the moment I saw it, and knew it would look awesome in there. I hope every year we keep up with the traditional gifts. That way everything is thoughtful and special, and doesn't have to be the typical flowers, jewelry, etc.

Good teamwork all weekend! It is amazing how much you can accomplish together ;-) YAH!
So I started working on one of the items for the party favor bag. Crayon holder! It's not perfect, but I still think they are cute. 2 down, 6 to go. What do you think?
Gonna do this, a little pack of coloring pages, a BTB food container full of candy, extra juice for their drink (mentioned on a previous post), BTB stickers in the party favor bag. Found the stickers (25 cents) and containers (25 cents) at Dollar Tree at great prices. They weren't even a dollar! NICE! I was shocked to find things there because not even Wally World or Target carries BTB stuff.
I think there are about 6 kids coming but I wanted to do extra just in case.
Counting down the days!!
As I went to Sam's the other day it was a sad day. It was going to be the last trip of buying the little man's formula! True sign he's growing up. Too fast!! :-( I can't believe in a few weeks he will be one!
It's been one HECTIC week at work preparing for the long weekend, but I'm so glad Friday is here. As we speak Wes is preparing dinner tonight. Chili YUM! That will be good since it's been so cold. Wes' parents are coming over for dinner and a night of Dexter watching! YAH! That's what I call a good night.
Saturday I will be cleaning hardcore and getting the last bit of stuff for Goodwill together. I want to schedule them to come out sometime next week. Then put the remainder of Christmas decorations up in the attic...yes I still have some stragglers *cough cough* icicle lights *cough cough* oops! I think I can accomplish all that on my 3 day weekend!
Sunday, we are celebrating Wes' bro, Tyler, birthday! Brett is cooking so it definitely will be a good meal! I just have to remember to go get something today for him....Has anyone else noticed their memory is completely shot?! I swear I have the memory of a 80 year old. It's weird too I can remember everything shown to me, but when it comes to simple things like picking up stuff or grocery list items if its not written down I can't remember for the life of me. So odd! Growing old downside I guess....
I can't believe Aiden is 11 months now! Time is just passing too quickly! Makes me sad to see you grow up, but excited of all the things you accomplish each day. Love you with all my heart little man!
I'll do his official 11 month post probably this weekend after I do his photoshoot with Mommy's new camera! :-)
In just 4 weeks is his big day! I think I have everything I need for decorations...just need to figure out the menu. Yes, I even have his presents wrapped and hiding! :-) Invitations were even put in the mail today and marked the Friday before a vacation day just to spend some quality time with the birthday boy!
After my unbelievable busy,non-stop issues of a day I am counting down...
