Our Christmas was exhausting...not bc of presents but bc we had a teething baby wake us at 3am (Santa didn't go down until 1am...)!! Exhausted! Aiden came in our room at 5am. We forced both to stay down till 7am lol which was interrupted by constanted kicking, turning, and tears. Fun times!
We eventually roll out of bed, I head to the kitchen to preheat the oven to cook my fancy biscuits out of the can (did I mention I was exhausted?!) and the guys head to the living room. Aiden opens up his gifts. Tornado style. Then moved on over to help Brody and then it was the parents turn....
Our tradition of each getting a new ornament. Love mine!!! It's made out of paper. A Star Urchin
My presents....how on earth did Wes and the boys know?!? haha (However Aiden picked out my Pandora bead all by himself)
Rewind a bit. This year we started the tradition of letting the boys pick out a gift for their brother (on a price limit of course) to help teach them it's about giving than receiving, make them think about the other, and to teach about budgets. Man I am one boring but cool mom! Haha Brody well did an awesome job and somehow got Aiden exactly what he wanted a plane. And Aiden picked out Brody an elephant ball toy (which was more for the both of them...but he was truly excited to show Brody who happens to be obsessed with it too....Brothers!). So next year I'll take Aiden to get Brody's and Wes will take Brody. One on one time...see all the perks!
Maybe it's just me but after seeing people's gifts to their kids and hearing coworkers I'm def not the type of person that goes overboard. I mean how can your kid enjoy your gifts if you get them 20+ things?! To me that is losing the real reason for Christmas (could spout off grinch quotes atm)....to each their own. I just won't for the boys. Since the boys got a big Santa gift we only got them 1 present and their stockings. Aiden a robot piggy bank (which he asks me everyday now if I have change hahaha) and Brody a little wooden car with a handle. Nothing fancy but they love.
Now to the Santa gift. Some might hate on me but I don't care, but Santa brought them a kitchen. Not any ole kitchen a MANLY kitchen! And wouldn't you know Aiden adores it. He's been whipping me up meals left and right. Makes all that hard work I put into it worth it. Creating a separate post with more details and breakdown since people want to know.
The rest of the day we spent together playing laughing and cuddling. Glorious day! Aiden ended it asking where Tink and Fred were......till next year....
