Goodies
I went last year and was amazed....This year just the same. I missed the spring/summer sale bc it was the weekend after Aiden was born. Today was the fall/winter sale. I'm going to do it with Aiden's clothes if we don't have another boy and no one else I know is having a boy.
Sick Baby

I have one sick baby. His very 1st viral infection! :-(
It started on our anniversary night about 10pm and I couldn't get him to sleep until about 3am. I was having to rock him and soon as I would stop/fall asleep he would wake up crying.
So mommy was VERY tired at work the next day equaling me not being so nice and jumping on people for things I normally wouldn't let bother me. Oops, but my wires were maxed out. Their fault though I explained to them 2 weeks ago what I wanted and they didn't have ANYTHING prepared for the meeting. How much hand holding does one person have to do.....luckily my boss was there and kinda harped to the party so I wasn't the only bad guy.
So after several meetings I needed to leave to take baby boy to the doctor. His fever was up to 101. AH! I got a prescription for butt creme so he won't get a yeast infection, because he has diarrhea. LOVELY changing diapers now :-) I thought we were over the gross diapers...But all night and this morning his fever has been dropping back to 99 today. YAH!! However, the doctor said 3-4 more days then he should be back to normal.
Funny thing the doc was like well thats great hes still wanting his bottle, bc most babies do not when they get sick. Then they get dehydrated. I was like "haha you should know by looking at him he NEVER turns down the bottle! lol I've got myself a healthy chunky baby."
Side Note: Last night I went and saw the Sound of Music with Regina and MeeMaw. That was fun! Such a great movie, but soooo cold in the Orpheum. Tonight is dinner at Wes' parents to celebrate our anniversary and MeeMaw's bday. Double the fun!

Anniversary
Today a year ago I married the best man in the whole world!
I couldn't have asked for a better hubby and father to our amazing son.
It's been one hectic year with the pregnancy, birth of Aiden, buying our 1st home, remodeling our home, etc...but I wouldn't change any of it. It's only made us a stronger couple. Truly blessed!

My awesome mother-in-law got us tickets to go see Wicked in October for our anniversary!! YAH!! I've always wanted to go. I've read the books, and LOVE them. Some of my friends have gone in the past and said it was amazing, so I'm really looking forward to it. I have such an amazing family!
Speaking of family, my mom is moving to Pensacola this weekend! I hope she enjoys the new school she's teaching at, and my dad hurries up on finishing the projects on the B'ham house so he can join her down there. After they sell that house it's going to be weird going to a different house for holidays. That's been home for like 16 years. Maybe next summer I can take a week off from work to go down to the beach to see all the fam. Aiden will be like 1 1/2 then, so it should be fun.
Aiden Update: I read to Aiden every night, and he is REALLY enjoying it now. He smiles, and looks at the pages then at mommy...sometimes wanting to eat the pages :-) Well last night in our book session I was reading Wes' favorite book "Ernie's Big Mess" and OMG did Aiden love it! I've never heard him laugh so hard. It was freakin ADORABLE! It made me laugh so hard I could barely read. So there we are both laughing our butts off. Priceless. Love that kid so much!

Fabrics
I am counting down the days till Friday!! Why you might ask. It's payday! I really enjoy getting paid once a month. Makes it easy to budget. I am really excited because I get my monthly allowance. YAH! :-) So what to do with my $100.....buy fabric of course!
I have all these projects going through my head:
*Boppy Pillow cover
*Crib sheet
*Pants
*Hooded Towel
*Pack n Play sheet
*Blanket
The list goes on and on.....
Below is some of the fabrics I've picked out. Let the sewing projects begin.

Ideas
Aiden is getting so big! On Saturday I raised his Jumperoo one level. He kept bending his knees to stay on his toes, so it was time to raise it. lol I remember the days when we had to put a pillow underneath him.
OLD DAYSI found the cutest fabric the other day. I really want to use it for a duvet cover for Aiden's twin bed. He is going with a sailor theme room, because of the furniture. But then I think am I CRAZY for thinking about this now?!?! lol Geez I get bored at night when Aiden's sleeping and Wes is at baseball. But its so cute. I can imagine that fabric with red piping. So that gives me plenty of time to perfect my skill :-)

That fabric with a homemade LifeSaver red ring pillow.

Homemade nautical flag valance. White curtains with rope trim. So cute!

I might even attempt to try this cool technique I saw online with wallpaper beadboard. Soo cute! As you can see I have waaaay to much time on my hand. I should probably be getting back to proofreading these configuration documents for my knowledge transfer meetings if I ever want to train my backup....otherwise I can't take VACATION! AHHHHH!

New adventures
I captured some teething moments of Aiden after eating his baby food, which I thought were quite cute.
He loves his frozen teething toy. Perfect size so he can hold onto them. Speaking of holding on to things.....we are starting to use BIG boy cups! Starter cups with handles. I loves to hold on to his bottle, so I felt it was time to move on. He's still getting the hang of it, but definitely soaks himself. I'll have to take pictures later.
MOMMY! you caught me!
Back to the favorite toy of all!
Yesterday I had a fun day going around town with Regina and Chris. Found some neat places! We stopped by the goodwill in Southhaven, MS. I found Aiden some cute overalls, jeans, long john shirt, and a Berenstain Bears book "Give Thanks" all for $5. Can't beat that!! Before that we went to the
METAL MUSEUMIt was sooooo neat! I want to take baby boy out there. It was right on the river and the buildings/landscaping was awesome! In the blacksmith building there were people making things right in front of us. Man, was it hot in there, but so cool!! You can even get them to make things for you. How neat!
Next stop
COLLIERVILLE SQUAREAdorable little part of town. All these neat shops! Then in the center of the square they have events from time to time. Definitely something I want to do with baby boy! Good ole fun! I'm definitely going to have to bring my friend Erica. She would love it!
However, when we were there I found what I wanted to get Aiden for his BIG Christmas gift. It was ADORABLE! It was like $70, but I think I can possibly find it cheaper online. So let the researching begin. As most know Radio Flyer items are ADORABLE! So this year I want to get him a ride-on and next year a tricycle! Something that we can pass down to all the kids. Classic looks!
Now trying to decide now what ride-on to get....

1st Tooth
OMG! Yesterday Aiden's first tooth was coming in! AHHHHHH! It's his front bottom one. As Adrienne said "I've got myself a CHOMPER!"
Now beings the task of soothing baby boy, because I know he's in a lot of pain. He was a cranky little boy yesterday.
Bring on the baby orajel, teething rings, and tylenol

How we survived/survive
As many mommy's know there are only a FEW items that are desperately needed to have smooth days and smooth nights. But like myself and most new moms you think you need everything. So I guess I can give Adrienne and Ashley some wisdom when they start their little family. :-)
Newborn Stage:
SWADDLESMost say you need swaddles...okay those are like $14 each...have I used the ones I got from my showers....NO! What worked?
RECEIVING BLANKETSNormal and receiving blankets. Talk about multi purpose. So essentially you can get 4 receiving blankets for $14 that come in the cutest prints.
SWINGMust have a SWING! It's how we survived. If you have a big baby...your arms will get sooo tired of swinging them back and forth. Definitely worth EVERY penny. The type you get isn't that big of a deal. I would just read reviews or pick out the one that goes with your decor, bc it's going to be in your living room where you spend the most time.
BOPPY PILLOWLiterally whenever someone came over to visit Aiden those 1st two months, he was on the couch sleeping in his boppy. The TRUTH! :-) After feedings he would just curl up in the hole and felt safe like being in the womb. He would get mad if we took him and laid him in bed/pack n play. Also, remember TWO covers! Gotta have a backup, bc you never know if its going to get spit up on.
Young months Stage:
PACI 1 PACI 2 PACI 3 CLIP 1 CLIP 2 This I can't say exactly what to use bc every baby is different, but we have found the kind Aiden can hold on to stay in the mouth longer. Always have a backup because Aiden's original clip broke, so backups are a must plus you never know when that paci is going to hit the floor :-)
JUMPEROOIt is our lifesaver now. Since the swing is retired, this becomes our go to when we have things to do around the house and wont worry about Aiden rolling into/getting into something he shouldn't. I picked this over an activity center bc it's multi purpose. Plus most activity centers have a weight limit and cannot raise as the baby gets taller.
CHEW TOYSI know that sounds like a dog thing, but it is enough entertainment to let him enjoy being on the blanket all by himself. We are still investigating other teething toys, but this one is BY FAR his favorite. The noise, how soft it is, etc.
MELODY MAKER 1 MELODY MAKER 2This helped us when Aiden was in his infant seat. As soon as you would pull the charm and make the music go he would stop cry and laugh and giggle! He was just so amazed with it. Now since he is in a big boy seat those charms are now on the side of the bed, and you can now hear him playing in there with them when its either bedtime or naptime. They help him fall asleep.
HOPE THIS HELPS SOME!!!!
Milestones
It feels like everyday we are hitting a milestone!
We might start 3 times a day with baby food. He's doing so great with it, and I think he's ready.
He has tried every baby food but Prunes....I'm kind of worried about that one. I might see how it goes tonight. Last night with the carrots was hilarious. Of course there is some that gets on his chin or around his mouth....so what does he do?! Pull up his bib to his mouth and wipes it away! :-) He has learned that's what mommy does so I'll do it myself. Such a good boy!
He is still sleeping great, which mommy LOVES! I actually feel like I'm not a walking zombie anymore. 2 months of good sleeping and still going strong...just worried that we will regress when those teeth start coming in.
On another note, I know its hard some days to get in the mood to go walking around the neighborhood after a LONG stressful day at work, but I'm going to start doing that. Nothing extreme but I think we should survive an 45 min to an hour each night. Plus Aiden loves his stroller and the bumps on the roads. Vibration never felt so good! :-)
Lastly, I will post a few pictures taken with the phone. Baby boy has gotten in this mood lately of wanting to fall asleep on Mommy. He hasn't wanted that since he was like 3 months old....it was always Daddy he loved sleeping on.

New Layout
Slowdowns at work equals new layout! A little Taylor Swift maybe?!
Gotta love that I am at a standstill until I get the approvals to work, which happens at 3pm :-) Good process huh?!

New Furniture
So as my parents begin to empty out their house and Mudder's...I received Aiden's big boy furniture yesterday. Still can't believe they are moving to Pensacola. They've lived their whole lives practically in Birmingham, but I guess since both of their parents are gone and we are all gone it's time for them to make a new home.
This furniture came with pretext :-) If I ever stop using it or not wanting it anymore Adrienne wants it. lol Guess it was one of the perks of having the 1st boy.
It used to be my dad and uncle's at Mudder's sister house aka their 2nd mom. Cute little desk, chest, and twin bed with nautical theme on it. Over 40 years old...noticing a theme here all my furniture is like over 20 years old :-) But you can't really find the detail in new furniture. Hence why me and Adrienne love it so much!
So with this I had to move things around in Aiden's room. The chest that was in there came into our room. The bed frame will stay in the garage but the other furniture was brought in.
Excuse the pictures I took them with Aiden sleeping so the light was off. :-) Now on the hunt for some fabric to recover the chair.

Cute Projects
Found the cutest links today, but this one was by far my favorite.
Always wondered what to do with outgrown baby clothes, or stained clothes...Mainly stained clothes here. Saving all the outgrown ones for the next Lambert...if its a boy again.
Might try it one day...
BABY CLOTHES ARTThis was also a cute idea. Paci clips are expensive and this is a great way to personalize yours.
CLIPSWhat I hate most about hooded towels are they are so thin and small! I have a big baby, so of course his legs are always dangling out...I'm for real going to try this one. Maybe next weekend.

5 months!
Pictures to come later.
Stats:
Weight: 23 pounds
Length: 27 inches
Size 3 Diapers
9-12 month clothes
Losing some of the chunk and rolls :-) He's almost as long as my legs! DANG!
Likes:
*FLIPPING! As soon as you put him down he flips.
*His Lion paci more than his monkey one.
*His Jumperoo. Goes to town on it!
*Playing in the crib...alone! Used to be a struggle to get him to fall asleep in there away from Mommy and Daddy
*Getting fed baby food. Tries to feed himself and will grab my hand pushing it into his mouth.
*Talking with Mommy and Daddy. Nickname: Pterodactyl. Funny screeching sounds.
Dislikes:
*When mommy puts him down. Something about me...he always wants me to hold him. Probably because he was gone for a week.
*Getting his diaper changed. It's a fight. He wants to flip. I'm trying to change him.
*That he can't crawl. He's trying so hard, but can't go anywhere just yet. He will put his head down and fake cry and throw his hands out.
*When his daddy has scruff and kissing him.
He is now eating baby food twice a day and cutting back to 5 5oz bottles a day. Sleeping from 8:30ish-6 sometimes 7am. YAH! Not sure how many times he takes naps during the week when I'm at work but when I'm home its about 3-4 45 minute naps.
Baby boy now can flip from back to tummy and from tummy to back! YAH! No more crying because he can't flip back. New nickname: Rolly Polly. Hard keeping him on the blanket now. :-)
I think we have finally figured out his cries now. There is a fake one where he wants to be held, a hungry cry, and a naptime cry. Only took 5 months to figure them out :-)

Home
My family is FINALLY home!!!!!!!!! Thank you Outer Banks, NC for sending them home safe to me.
GOSH that was too long to go without them. My baby boy has GROWN soo much!
Luckily, I have tomorrow off so I can spend more time with them. YAH! Maybe I'll take Aiden's 5 month pictures.
side note: Another project completed. :-) Our garage door has been painted! Now it matches the white siding instead of being multi-colored tan, white, and off white. Btw it's WAAAAY to hot to be doing that outside.

Family Love
Have I mentioned I LOOOVE my family!!! I miss them sooo much. I want to kiss my hubby and hold my little boy soooo bad!! 6 more days, 6 more days!
But I'm glad Aiden got to see his great grandfather. Who knows when that will happen again.
Today. I sealed the grout on the backsplash. Made Aiden's curtains. Made another pillow cover. Cleaned Aiden's room. Laundry. Tomorrow clean and put the kitchen back together. Then maybe start our room or clean the bathrooms.
This week at work is going to be h-e-l-l. 1st time the business is using my new code. UGH, you know that means they will have issues. Even though they are trained they STILL always mess up or don't understand something. Joy of IT support. Repeat yourself daily.
Picture time:
Before sealing grout (so light and blends together)
After sealing grout. They really pop now. Looks amazing!
See how much the curtain helps! Look at the light pouring in where the curtain is not. Hence why it was desperately needed
I tried to make three rope balls 1 large and 2 small. However the small ones didn't turn out right, so I omitted them. However, I kinda like the way it turned out. Gives it a little extra something.

For the love of sewing
So I think everyone knows by now I love doing things for myself. Making things gives me such a rush. It's kinda like Hey I just made that! WHOA!
So I started out the day working on the kitchen. Man! Now I know why we waited so long to chisel out the grout for the outlet covers. Such a WORKOUT! Who am I kidding my arms are so weak that anything is a workout for them. :-) Then I noticed I chiseled too much. UGH! So I had to put out the grout again....needless to say those outlet covers aren't going ANYWHERE! unless you want to chisel them out. haha Probably wasn't a smart idea to do it that way, but hey now it looks cleaner. Tomorrow I will seal the grout, since I have to wait a day for the grout to dry.
So after that I completely cleaned the living room. Including the fan! OMG gross....I really need to start cleaning that every week instead of once a month.
After that was done. I started making the new pillow covers for the couch. Recovering is a quick inexpensive way to change your living room feel. Buying basics and using pillows to give it that extra something. Most of our furniture is hand me downs from Mudder and my parents and I wouldn't say it was "modern", but it's still comfortable. Buying new furniture is out of the question, so pillow covering comes into play to get that "modern" feel. :-)
Then when I was over at Gabby and Grande's taking care of the pool I decided I should help Gabby out and sew Aiden's curtains. Since I know she's a busy lady like me and well being alone in the house gets boring and lonely so must stay busy. :-)
First project. Diaper Cover. FAILED! I have not mastered working on small projects yet. Will try to attempt again later after more sewing projects.
Second project. Changing Pad Cover. SUCCESS! I got this idea from
Prudent BabyI used the same fabric that will be for the curtains. The patterned fabric. I just loved how it turned out! I may even make another one. That way we have 4. It was a really easy project and highly recommend everyone try it.
Third project. Curtains. Tomorrow. I have to go get some black out fabric since the fabric I want to use is really thin. This is a must. One of Aiden's windows lets in so much light we use a blanket to block out the sun from shining in his crib.
Now I'm trying to decide what type of top do I want to do. The easy route: Use curtain clips, so would just mean trim all the edges. Or make a cuff at the top to slide onto the rod. Either way you wouldn't see it, because the valance covers the 2nd rod.
I then noticed almost EVERYTHING in my house is Blue, Green, White, and Tan. Except the Bama bathroom. :-) Man if I ever have a girl, it will be funny if they want pink, yellow, purple thrown in the mix.....that would be outside my box.
Eventually I want to attempt to make a Jon Jon for Aiden. I love them, plus it would save us money bc they are EXPENSIVE in stores. 20 plus. I know I could make one under 10. Just have to figure out how to make the snaps at the bottom. Research project!
BTW, HAPPY 5 MONTHS AIDEN!!!!!!!!! You're growing up so fast. Loving every moment of it!
