Zoo Boo

BOO! I'm a bear!

We had a BLAST at the zoo!!! Aiden was sooo great and curious. It was packed full of little kids. He couldn't do much but it was still fun to see him just looking around and smiling. I can't wait till next year!!

I had never been before, but it was SUPER nice. So many things for you to do that are safe and fun for practically no cost. There was rides (carousel, airplanes, cars, hay rides, train rides), face painting, moon bounce, other blowup toys, etc.

Conner was a sleepy boy, so Aiden and him didn't interact much. However, it was nice just hanging out with Brittani. There will be other times the boys can play. On the drive home both boys were knocked out...we left at 9, which is normally past Aiden's bedtime....maybe he will sleep in tomorrow :-)

Did I mention how cute Aiden was in his costume????!!! Cutest bear EVER!!! It was cuddly and soft perfect for the weather since out of now where it dropped in the 50s. I was even surprised he didn't mind the cap. He didn't try to pull it off once. YAH!! However, I was going to paint his nose brown....well obviously that didn't happen. I painted it...rubbed the nose...then the whole face was brown. UGH!! Aiden definitely wasn't a happy camper when I had to clean off his face.

Gosh, I love this boy soo much!! Oh as you can see I cut my hair. I needed a change...and yes I cut it short in the winter. lol Makes it easier to wear scarves, which I'm very excited to be pulling out now!!

Last night I finished putting Aiden's toy together!!!! YAH!!! It doesn't look like the picture, but I still like the way it turned out. I just have to stitch the mouth then fully complete. I can't wait to see him play with it!!!!

BFF 4EVA

I swear Aiden would be ONE sad little boy if Murphy went away. I can't keep these two apart! "And we're the two best friends that anyone could have!" He loves being in the kitchen with him. I'll pick Aiden up and swing him making Murphy excited so he will start jumping and Aiden will laugh sooo hard. It's precious!

Since he loves the kitchen floor so much, I had to get him some leggings. He is so in between sizes on pants they either are too tight or too long. Either way NOT good for a crawling baby. So I got him a few pair of BabyLegs. I really like them and Aiden doesn't seem to mind them either.

Today on my lunch break I went to go pick up Aiden and Wes' christmas stockings! YAH! They turned out great for the little bit of money I paid to get their names put on them. I will definitely be using them again. I was a little weary, but I'm impressed. I can only drop off and pick up while I'm at work though...the place is in Olive Branch, MS...which from my work is like 5 minutes. but from my house like 50 minutes. Now I just have to get mine done.

Lastly, I leave with our big boy who can now officially stand ALL the way up in his bed. OH LORD! I hope he doesn't learn how to climb out. Now in the mornings when I go to see him I find him like this..."Hello Mommy, I've been waiting for you!" lol We have also caught him wanting to pull down his mobile, so that might go soon too. A lowered bed to the last notch, no mobile....all signs he's not a baby anymore. SAD!!!

Mice Beware

Okay, so don't get me wrong I loooove where I live, but living out in the country brings little friends in when the cold weather comes. MICE! AHHHH!!!! Luckily, I've only seen them in the garage, but we put traps out and within an hour good-bye to three little guys. Sooo gross!!!

We had an exciting weekend. Friday was a vacation day. 1st visit Terminix. They installed the traps and did their quarterly spraying. 2nd visit Appraisal. He was here for like a total 15 minutes, but he said he loved our kitchen and all the improvements we've done. YAH!! So all is good, closing on the refinancing this Friday so VERY excited. Plus we will get to see the dollar sign of all our improvements and equity we have already built up in the house.

Saturday. Terminix came back out to replace our crawlspace vents, install a vapor barrier in the crawlspace, plus treating the wood underneath. I really like the way the vents turned out. These will open and close on their own depending on the temperature in the crawlspace, so that's a really big plus!

Sunday. Pumpkin carving time!!! Our big pumpkin was rotten inside. OH did it smell!! So it was put in the trash ASAP! but the other two turned out adorable. I wonder if we will get any trick-or-treaters next weekend....I'm prepared but I wonder if anyone actually will knock. We will see....

All during Aiden's naps this weekend I have been working on his christmas present. A lion! Can't you see it?!?! :-) I've completed about 30 rings about 30 more to go...ugh! I hope this turns out good!!!

Lastly, I leave with some short videos we caught of the little guy this weekend. He is getting so adventurous and adorable as ever! LOVE THIS KID!!!!!

Almost done

I'm almost done Christmas shopping. A few small items to get Aiden and Wes' parents gifts then I'm DONE! And I know exactly what to get, which is a BIG accomplishment! :-)

In November we are also taking our family photos for our Christmas cards, so everyone get excited. Many more pictures to come!

Next Saturday, Brittani and I are taking the boys to Zoo Boo for a play date. I can't wait for that!! We are gonna have a little monkey and a boo bear on our hands! Gonna be a full night of laughter and picture taking for sure!

Tomorrow is my last work day of the week and after the past 2 weeks I NEED THIS DAY OFF BAD!!! Long hours, frantic work, and everything crashing at once is not a fun time for me....probably why I'm so tired or it could be I go to the gym after a stressful day...hmmmm

Speaking of the gym, Aiden is getting MUCH better with me leaving him, because normally it's all about me when I get home. However, yesterday when I put him down near the other kids he looked up and started crying out and holding up his hands......broke my heart. So I picked him up once more gave him a big hug and kiss and told him "Mommy needs you to be a big boy, and see there are friends here to play with you. We can play when we get home, promise." So I put him down. He pouted then turned to the kid next to him and stole his toy. hahaha Well I guess that will work. We will obviously have to practice this sharing thing.

Weekend Pictures

As I promised here are some pictures from the other day...

Brandi's little girl was amazed by Aiden. She kept trying to put his toy in his mouth. lol

Next came Brittani's son, Conner. Aiden's bff. They were ADORABLE together!!! They would look at each other and whatever the one did the other did. Eat the grass? Okay! Eat the pumpkin? Okay! Pout? Okay! Smile and look adorable? Okay! Needless to say we were cracking up. I sense a lot of play dates in the future.

Lastly, we ended with some Mommy and son pictures! YAH! I'm definitely gonna frame one of these for our wall. Have I mentioned how much I love this kid!

Today, we had a full fun day together while Daddy was playing his baseball game. He is SUCH a Momma's boy. But then during his long nap in the afternoon I got to finishing painting the attic stairs. YAH! I now need to just put one more coat on the trim and chaulk the edges. Then DONE! I need to get it all done before Friday. I also finally found some pots for the front. They are wooden pots, which I really like. Easier to move than ceramics. I even added some small purple flowers too.

Before

After

Also, have I mentioned little man started about 2 weeks ago pulling himself up to a standing position. First it was up on the knees then ALL the way up! It's his favorite thing to do now. Adorable!

WICKED

Today was such a busy day!!!

We went back to the Agricenter, so Wes could shoot two of our friends' kids with the pumpkins and fall decor. Today was a MUCH better day to take pictures! Brandi's little girl looked precious in her dress. Brittani's little boy was SOO freakin adorable with Aiden. He is a 3 months younger than Aiden...but we can already see they are gonna be buddies. They were trying to hug each other and just smiling. Then Aiden got mad at me for picking him up during Conner's single shots....sorry little man. Then Wes squeeze in some shots of me and him, since we found a nice shaded setup. YAH! I will upload later.

After we packed up and headed over to Wes' parents to drop off Aiden...why? Because we were off to see WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG amazing!!! It was funny and the story was great! Totally connected back to the Wizard of Oz. We really enjoyed it. Such a good anniversary gift! I highly recommend everyone go see it if you can. Our seats were amazing too!

Once the show was over, we went to go little man only to find he didn't take 1 nap! UGH! He only napped for 1 hour this morning at 9....no afternoon nap! He was just having so much fun he didn't want it to stop. So what does he do when we get there...finally pass out on the blanket only to wake up in like 20 minutes confused, scared, and cranky because he's not in his bed. Goodness! Needless to say he went to bed at 7pm tonight. Hope he stays asleep the whole night....

Well Bama game is on. So I'm off! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!

I leave with a picture my front steps decorated. I need to find some pots I like, but these will have to do for now. Who would have ever thought finding TWO of the same pot would be this hard.....Those pumpkins will be carved next weekend.

Oh yeah...update...those steps and the sliding glass door will be gone soon!!!!!! YAH!!! We got our estimate of the new front porch and roof. TOTALLY within our budget! YAH!!! I can't wait to show before and after shots!!!

First word

BIG DAY!!!! Aiden said his first word...and what was it?!?!?!?!

MOMMA

I win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's been saying "Mom Mom Mom", but never while looking at me, so I just summed it up to baby noises. But tonight he got on his knees and reached out for me and said "Momma!" I about died!

So later this evening, I took him outside for a little photoshoot, so here are my results. Have I mentioned I love this kid?! Because I DO!!!

Early Christmas

Christmas came early for me and Wes. We decided to get us a new TV that way Mommy can curl up in bed with Aiden and watch "girl" shows, and daddy can watch his "man" shows. That way when we have conflicting shows no one losses. hahaha As Wes nicely put it Blues Clues and WonderPets will be HUGE and even more annoying. hahahahahaha

Replaced the 42 inch with a 55 inch. It's amazing! I did lots of researching and hunting to find the best deal...and I did good!! It's another Vizio and I'm in love once again! Iron Man 2 looked amazing on it! So real looking.

So the other part of our gift was a new console, since my old Target one wouldn't hold up that big of a tv. So again I went out on a hunt....this part took the longest. Everything was WAY over budget or looked cheap or I could just see Aiden just ripping it apart. But success thank you Overstock! It looks perfect in our living room. I love the velvet lined drawers and you can slide the glass doors over the opening, so Mr. Aiden won't attack the modem anymore. YAH!!

So MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Yesterday was SUCH a long day at work!! I only got to see Aiden for the 10 minutes before I leave for work. By the time I left the office Aiden was in bed 9ish pm. That REALLY upset me! At least I got to leave early today to make up some of the time....but I did go to bed upset. Stupid issues and being a lone ranger sucks at those moments. Thank goodness they don't happen every week!!

Other news I have two more BIG presentations left! YAH! Most know I can give small group presentations, but when it's like 60+ people it's a little much....Especially when what you are saying is WAY over the listeners head. That's how next Tuesday will be when I talk about Security. Can't wait!! That presentation will probably last 4 hours. Oh joy! But the good thing is maybe some of my lead team will start realizing the amount of work I do and get me some help, because heaven forbid something happen to me the first of the month....or if a big security meltdown happens. There's not one person in my group that could do what I do and that's scary! All these presentations are about increasing our group budget so it's all about justifying. Understandable but I do have other daily work that is on hold for these LONG meetings...

Enough whining. So Aiden has been going to bed lately around 7:30-8. So weird! Normally it's 9....growth spurt?! I'll have to check his mouth to see if there's a new tooth coming in. He's getting so good at pulling himself up on his knees. Oh and we have moved to new food. Gerber Graduates lil crunchies. It is soo cute watching him eat them! He's growing up so fast! Scary to think about!

Other good news, we are closing on our refinancing the end of this month. YAH! Appraisal is next week. I will be very interested to see what it is now with all our improvements. That new interest rate will be awesome!! Then comes the new roof and front porch. YAH! Now I just have to pick out a shingle color. You wouldn't think that would be so hard...but it is!

Off to bed. EARLY meeting tomorrow.....

8 months!

Warning this is a long post!

Aiden is now 8 months old! I can't believe it! I know I say that every month, but it truly feels like I JUST had him!
Stats:
Weight: 26 pounds
Length: 30 inches
Size 4 diapers
18-24 month clothes. Shirts 18 month, Onesies 24 month, Pants 24 but he's in the 18 month length, so I'm having to roll them.

Sleeping pattern: 9pm-7am
Eating pattern: 4-5 5oz bottles, and 2 things of baby food a day. I'm trying to increase that to 3, but with teething and the cold we are lucky to get in 1 a day.

Milestones:
*7 teeth
*Starting to crawl on his knees, except when he has baggy pants on
*Starting to feed himself
*Starting to get the hang of sippy cups

Likes:
*Following Mommy around the house when she's cleaning
*Going into Murphy's area and attacking his bowls
*Anything with drawers
*Being outside in my Pack n Play

Dislikes:
*When Mommy and Daddy won't let me do what I want
*Waking up in my room and my bottle not ready and Mommy or Daddy immediately there
*Teething
*Stuffy noses...that suction thing is the devil

He's growing up so fast! I truly believe he is a Momma's boy hardcore, unless Grande comes around. He loves him! Then he does from time to time love to give Gabby the stink eye. It's funny!

Yesterday, Bama had a tough lost! But South Carolina was just on fire! They deserved to win. Oh well, hopefully this will wake up the boys to win the rest of the games. Just wonder how much we will drop....But before all this we packed up and headed to the agricenter to the pumpkin patch. Well, they wouldn't let us out the actual patch, but they had the Farmer's Market looking soooo cute! Pumpkins, squash, Mums, hay, petting zoo, etc all there. It was a great fall setup! Next year we will do the hayride, pumpkin painting, and corn maze. We got some cute pics but the sun was just AWFUL...so maybe in a week or two it will be overcast and we will try a redo.

These shots were funny....OHHHH HAY!! I must eat the hay!....No Aiden don't eat that!......Mommy! You are so not cool right now!!! (Thanks for the stink eye Aiden, I love you too!)

However, I do want to go back sometime and get some of those Mums for the front porch. They were BEAUTIFUL and not that expensive. The crimson one won me over. I guess Bama is deep in my blood. :-)

Today, I spent the day cleaning, laundry, and painting the new attic stairs door white with little man following me from room to room. It was hilarious, but I got a lot done. Plus before Wes heading to my game we both washed my car and Aiden watched from his Pack n Play. GREAT and BEAUTIFUL day!! Then later we headed over to Gabby and Grande's so Aiden could see his cousins Lily and Harlee. That was too cute. Harlee started screeching when she saw Aiden (she's 6 months). She's sooo tiny! Like 16 pounds, and Aiden would just rip toys out her hands.....he hasn't quite got the hang of sharing. Opps! He will learn.

I even pulled out my "Halloween/Thanksgiving" decorations. It's not much but I still like them.

Now its off to get ready for DEXTER! YAH! So I leave with some random pictures of Aiden and Murph enjoying his new bed.
