Our Crazy Life

As I mentioned before October is one busy month for us! So here are a few events that have happened over the weeks.

I still haven't done the big room reveal, but here are a few pictures from my cell phone. I'm still waiting for a few pieces to come in and I've made one window's treatment but still one to go. Once all that is done I promise I will post. But how has the transition been?! AMAZING!! I have the best little boy ever. The first few days it was scary he was a rolly poley all over the bed. But after 4 days he figured out his head stays at the top part of the bed and he only rolls side to side. He only climbed out of bed once, but hasn't done it since. He does the cutest thing now when he wakes up. There are a few stuff animals in his bed so he will sit up and start playing with them you can hear him giggle through the monitor. He will stay in bed and thankfully now doesn't stand up. I got onto him for doing that the first few days. Just sits there like a good little boy waiting for mommy.

Last Sunday was eventful for us. I had to take the little man to the ER. We were there for almost 7 hours!!!!!!!!! OMG! His fever was progressively getting worse through the day so at 7pm I was like we have to now rather than at 3am. I didn't think it was going to be a 7 hour visit or I would have made Wes go with me, but he goes to bed around 8 to be at work at 3am. So I texted a dear friend, Erica, about the ordeal and she offered to sit with me. Knowing that it was still early I said GREAT! haha This was our 1st ER visit so I was freaking inside so I enjoyed the company. And MAN am I glad she and John came. I'm not strong enough to hold down this little guy for HOURS! I have the best friends ever!

And did I mention the night before was "Adult Day".  Aiden spent the day with the grandparents so I could paint the room and then Erica, Brittany, John, Nate, and Trey came over for a cookout before the softball game.  Such good times! I had to play because one of their girl players couldn't make it, and I pulled out my 8th grade softball skills. Hit the ball everytime I went to the plate and even scored. I'm awesome I know. Except now I'm wondering how the heck I played for so long because balls flying towards my face is not cool. Such a chicken. We won so we headed back to our house for a celebration where I rocked at Presidents and Assholes. President almost every time. We did this til 3am. Holy crap! I don't think I've done that since I was in college. And on Sunday I knew why I never do it. lol. That was also my first drink in months. I haven't had an alcoholic beverage since our beach trip in June. So 2 beers in and I was done. lol

Back to the story. Here's all what took place at the hospital. Xrays of his chest. 2 HUGE shots in each leg. Tried to get blood out of one arm, Failed. Attempt in the other arm worked, 2 tubes full of blood. 1 Breathing Treatment. And in the mist of all this his fever shot up to 104.6, when we came in it was 102.7. There we are sitting on a hospital bed in the hallway, and Aiden's so hot he is literally sweating on me and he is just in a diaper and bright red. Talk about scary! But he was a champ considering it was WAAAAAY past his bedtime. But now if anyone walks near him with scrubs on all hell breaks loose.

This pic is him on the way home. PASSED OUT! So turns out his asthma and sinus infection caused him to get a severe case of bronchitis. So back again with breathing treatments every 4 hours, steroids, and antibiotics. UH!  They also recommended after this episode is over we bump his treatments to 2 times a day. Aiden loves that! Not! But I think I have found the thing that will keep him calm during the treatment. Every time he watches "Open Season 2" he sits still and just starts giggling his head off. What can I say this kid loves dogs. Thank you lord! Normally we fight for the 1st 5 minutes then the last 5 minutes he's so tired he just sits there. And the other not so great news is he will get like this every season change. Lovely! He still sounds stuffy, but not nearly as bad. So until this Memphis CRAZY weather stops he will continue to sound like this. One week 86 next week 40 next 75 next 51. Lordy!

Yesterday, we headed over to a Mrs. Chris and Steve's house for a Halloween party. Wes' softball games are always on Saturday nights so he couldn't come. Boo! But we still had fun. They had hay rides, cupcake walks, duck ponds, ring toss, and awesome food. So many kids showed up. Aiden was on a full overload running all over the place. After hours of fun we met up with Daddy at Ihop with some friends/teammates before heading home. Aiden was SOO tired. Love my little Yoda!

Today, we all packed up and headed over to Brittani's baby shower. Love that family! Plus, Aiden got to see his bff, Connor. Those two had so much fun with all the "BA-OONS" as Aiden says. haha Gotta love it. Aiden loved when Daddy hit the "BA-OON" towards him. I just can't wait for Jacob to get here and Aiden to have a new fiend to play with. As you can see Aiden had a blast!

Now on a different note, as I was shopping at Target for Jacob some outfits I stumbled across something that made me stop in my tracks. I found a shirt for Aiden. Not just any shirt. A shirt to wear for his birthday party! AH! Normally for the "extra" purchases I have an internal debate of do we need this, is this a lot, can i get it cheaper, etc? As Wes says I'm a cheap ass. I just like to plan, there are no spur of the moment purchases for me, everything has a reason/purpose. But anyway. This shirt was beyond perfect and did I mention it was WAAAY cheaper than the one I was going to get off Etsy?!! $8 compared to $29. Double BONUS! I was even willing to pay full price. SOOO not me. I don't buy anything unless it's on clearance or at least some discount. But at least I got some discount but using Wes' employee discount. YAH! I can't wait for his party.

Animals

So I haven't updated in awhile and I have so much to post about, so expect multiple updates this weekend.

This post is mainly a photo dump of our trip to the Agricenter's Fall Festival. Where Aiden was in love with the petting zoo. He didn't want to do anything but that. Lesson learned, do that last. lol Hence we got no cute pumpkin pics. Hopefully we can go try again this weekend.

He was obsessed with the animals. Pointing, mouth open, and chasing them. Not to mention he was trying to KICK the bunnies and tackle aka hug the goats. Love it! Love him!

Arts Festival

This Sunday me and Regina headed up to the Pink Palace Arts Festival, which is always fun! We have such amazing and talented local artist. If only I could afford it all...so I took away lots of inspiration.

First stops to my favs...I love their peices so much! My statement piece in my living room is a Judy piece. Then I have an Alice piece in my kitchen. Love them because they are one of a kinds, and timeless. We may not have nice bedroom furniture, but we have nice art. haha :-) See where my priorities are.

JUDY VANDERGRIFT
ALICE HAMMELL

Then I spot a lady who does watercolors. Ah LOVE! They were lovely and very reasonable. Also in nice frames. I could have bought everything! haha But I did get a friends' Christmas present and of course the Alabama print for Aiden.

HOLLY JOHNSON

Kinda sad the guy who I got the adorable wooden toy dog from last year didn't return this year. I was hoping to buy another piece from him.

But there was a new shop that I fell in love with, selling little bell necklaces. Each is handcrafted and came with an adorable phrase. I loved the Mini Niece Bell. Now I just need my bro or sis to have a little girl so I can get them one. I couldn't find it on their website, but it was something along the lines "I love you like you were my own and even though we don't see each other as much as I would like every time the bell rings know I am thinking of you." PRECIOUS! Can't get any cuter than that.

COLLECT BELLS

Then finally at the very end I spotted something to get the little man for XMAS and even his Birthday. Luckily the person lives in Memphis and is able to make me custom item since all she had left were girl color items. She was telling me how she completely sold out of everything on Saturday and had to make a few items that night so she could sell a items on Sunday. I was like well I can see why. They are PRECIOUS and so unique! I am getting him the penguin for his birthday then the other one for XMAS.

MRSOGS

That night Aiden was VERY restless. We put him down at 7, back up by 8. I try and go in there to calm him down. I leave, then back to screaming bloody murder. So I bring him in the living room with us. He's so tired but can't fall asleep on my shoulder. Poor little guy kept putting his head down and nothing. FINALLY we get him down at 10. We go to bed....ah...wait it's 3am. And Aiden is back up. Wes goes in there that doesn't work he just wants Mommy. Oh no, that normally means he is sick. So I tell Wes just let him crawl into our bed...which kinda turned into the drawing, so Wes slept on the couch. Everyone knows you don't mess with a sick baby especially when we are all sleep deprived. And it took about 2 hours to get him down...so finally getting to bed at 5am took the life out of me. So I worked from home yesterday and we headed up to the doctor in the AM.

Thankfully, he doesn't have strep like his cousins and aunt it's just a severe sinus infection. We got him antibotics and praise the lord he slept from 8-6 last night. AHHHHH! I don't see how I functioned when he was a baby and waking up many times in the AM. If he does it 1 day now it takes such a toll on my body that I go into zombie mode.

In the mist of feeling sick he was still a busy body during the day. Playing his music meaning shaking our vitamin bottles. haha And reading his books before bedtime.

Mommy was even able to finish my Halloween wreath last night. I liked how it turned out, just wish I could tie bows good.

Got it!

Just like Christmas I am documenting this so I don't forget. Because I will forget. :-) But after much deliberation between myself, Wes, and my friend Erica we came up with the BEST birthday present!

At first I was thinking...what about a swing set. But of course everyone I loved was like $400. Way over my birthday budget. Then Wes reminded me that the park has a set that includes slides that is way nicer than we ever could afford. I forgot because we never have really played on it because he was too young. Nice having those amenities less than 2 miles away from your house. Plus swing sets at home are like graveyards that never get played on. So back to the drawing board.

Then I went back to my original plan. I was going to get him a wagon and the zoo membership. Well why don't I still go with that and get accessories to the way I want it. PERFECT!! I will clean up the wagon we got, pop in a few stuff animals, and get him some zoo attire (hats, sunglasses, etc).

Luckily, they sell an attachable canopy because that's what I wanted and is what drew me to the Ultimate Family Wagon.

The nice thing is once I get the membership I get discounts in the gift shop so I can get the animals there and also be doing good by supporting the Zoo. Double bonus! I mean look at all the perks:

•Free general admission for those listed on your membership
•Free parking
•Members-only preview for select new exhibits
•15% discount in all Zoo gift shops
•50% discount to more than 150 participating AZA Zoos and Aquariums.
•Discount on birthday parties
•Invitations to Members-only events
•Discount on select special event tickets - such as Zoo Boo; Zoo Lights
•One-year subscription to Exzooberance, the Zoo's bi-monthly magazine
•Discount on rides and ice skating punch cards
•Three half-price general admission guest coupons

I have a feeling we will be there every weekend, because not only does Aiden love it. I love it! :-) Hopefully, Wes can join us for some Saturday mornings. We are lucky to live in a place where the zoo has Pandas!!

Revised

As I am doing my few xmas purchases I noticed I definitely went off course from my original plan. Oh well! The things I got I love! Now the only things left are Aiden's big gift and Bella's gift. Then I'm done! Wahoo!

ORIGINAL POST

Since Aiden is a big coloring kick and I don't want crayons melting in my car or markers on the furniture I thought this item was a perfect alternative. We can travel with it and it's mess free.

His other gift came out of inspiration from hunting a gift for Carlos. I love it! A portable chair and sleeping bag. Now they just need a tent. The chair will come in handy when we go watch Daddy play baseball and softball. I got Carlos the fox and Aiden the bear. LOVE!

I found a cute dollhouse for my niece, Lily. You wouldn't have thought it was hard to find a small one but it was. So if anyone is looking for one Target now has them in stock. Plus you can buy different animal families and decor.

I love having almost all the shopping done. Takes the stress load off. Everything is perfectly wrapped. Yes, wrapped! :-) Hiding in the closet. I know I'm a dork, but December is a crazy month for me.

Now for the random thoughts:I know everyone is wondering how did the switch go?! Well I won't go into to much detail save for the big room reveal, but he did GREAT!!! No falling out or getting out of bed...knock on wood! This weekend we are painting.

This month is SOOOO BUSY! Like every weekend something.

THIS SAT. AGRICENTER HARVEST FESTIVAL! (Lots of pumpkin pics to come)
THIS SUN. PINK PALACE CRAFT FAIR (One of my fav fairs of the year)

Oct 22 CHRIS' HOUSE (Fall celebration with friends and family)

Oct. 29. ZOO BOO (Best place to go trick or treating in town)

So as I'm pulling in the driveway I'm like what's that red thing by the garage?! Then a big smile comes to my face why?! Because my neighbors are amazing! They brought over a wagon full of goodies for Aiden. And this is exactly why I love where I live. Everyone is so nice, thoughtful, and friendly even when my dog terrorizes them. ;-) He's one scary pup. JK! We are so blessed to have the neighbors we have, couldn't get any better. We look out for each other and Wes even plays softball with some of them. One big family! But after I saw the wagon I was like "Crap! Now what am I going to get him for his bday??!!" It was a Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon and looks practically brand new with little wear. It will come in handy for those weekend trips to the zoo we will be doing next year thanks to the membership I'm going to get us.

I leave with cute pictures of the little man as we are leaving for school. He gets so excited trying to bust out the door. I can't speak for everyone else but it is getting COLD here. 45 degrees this morning. Guess I need to rotate our closets.
