Spring in the Air

As everyone knows, I don't have much of a green thumb. However there are blooms in my yard! YAH! And I haven't touched it. Thank you sweet person before us that planted bulbs in the yard. I wish I had taken pictures when the tulips, irises and day lilies were blooming.

We do have rose bushes. I never thought I would want them, but after seeing them bloom I'm going to research how to take care of them. So pretty. Hopefully they won't die.

Let me say our yard is HUGE! Takes Wes 4-5 hours to cut the grass alone. Poor guy. Who would have thought an acre would be alot :-) hahaha

Below are some shots of the yard...my only request to Wes is HYDRANGEAS! I have always wanted them. I want blue ones. I want them to line the garage, since it's like a blank canvas there. However, the yard is on the back burner....we need to redo the roof, put up a fence, grade the front and back yard, get wes a new car, and then replace the AC eventually......UGH! So my dream hydrangeas are waaaay back on the list. :-( ONE DAY :-)

Not enough time...

Lets start the post off on a high note. Look at my precious family! I love those guys soo soo much!

Today I sat with Aiden out in the front yard while Wes went off to baseball practice with Murphy. It was adorable! Murphy was kissing Aiden, and Aiden was making these noises like he was laughing. SOOO CUTE! I knew those two were going to be good friends. Murph was running around and Aiden was following him with his eyes. I can't wait for Aiden to start CHASING him. hahahaha that will be GREAT!

Work is about to get EXTREMELY busy. May 10-12 and 22-24 are going to be H-E-L-L! there is no 8 to 5 those days they are 24/7 days. UGH! All my code is going live in production and it has to be PERFECT before the business starts using it or our entire Coated Paperboard Demand Planning falls on my shoulders. No pressure or anything...........Then we have a full month of extreme testing before July 1 when CPB planners start to use it. LONG nights ahead....I hope Aiden will not keep me up the few hours of sleep I will get. I will be thrilled when August is here.

Fav New Show: GLEE

I have a new favorite show and it's GLEE! Stupid American Idol took it away from me, but it's back and better than ever!!!!

Last week it was a Madonna special. LOVED!!!

So for my birthday my parents gave me $100. Sweet I know! I went and splurge on something I wouldn't normally get since it's not a necessity. CDs!!!

So I got the new Dave Matthews cd, which I LOOOOOOOVE! Hehe it's even got Lane and Ashley's 1st dance song on there "You and Me". I swear that song gets stuck in your head.....

The other 2 CDs I got were GLEE! AHHH lol So on my way to work this morning I know everyone around me was like "Wow that girl is definitely car singing" lol Oh well I was having fun. I got the Volume 1 and the Power of Madonna. I would have gotten the Volume 2, but the store didn't have it.

Ashley and Lane got married!!
I have a new sister. Yeah! So happy for them both. It's been a LONG time coming, glad it FINALLY happened.

It was a beautiful wedding! Ashley looked gorgeous and my brother also thought so too when he saw her. He was crying! Gosh not a dry eye in the place. So cute! I wish them all the happiness in the world. Love them!
Sad I don't get to see them more because I'm in Memphis and they are in Destin. We didn't get to stay long at the reception, because baby in stroller in small crowded room doesn't equal a good time. ;-) But from what I did see it was gorgeous.

We took Aiden down to the pool one day. It was way to windy on the beach, I didn't want sand to get in his eyes. He enjoyed the water though for like 10 minutes and was then SOOO over it. lol But at least we got to try out his swimmers.

I was dipping him in the water and he was like giggling. So cute! As you can see from the pics it was really bright out, so he definitely needed the hat on. I would have had his sunglasses on but it freaks him out.

Wes and I celebrated my birthday at the best restaurant down there. Cafe 30A. AMAZING! I got tuna and Wes got salmon. For appetizers we split the best thing on the menu, CRAB CAKES! So meaty and delicious. If anyone goes down to the beach they should go here. It's past Seaside on 30a. But definitely worth it!!!

So little man had a BAD accident on himself, so he needed a bath. So I had to bathe him in the smallest sink ever! lol It was too cute and funny of a pic not to include.

How could you not love that face!!!! Everyone at the wedding loved him and wanted to take him home. Surprisingly enough he was pretty darn good all weekend. No bad outburst. Thank you Aiden!
The car rides weren't so bad either. Only one fussy fits on each ride. However on Thursday we drove all night since little man was sleeping. NEVER AGAIN! 9pm-5:30am through fog. It took me a full day to recover.

Destin

Bells are ringing

Lane is getting married this Saturday!!!!

Can't believe it's finally here! Can't wait to see all my family.
Counting down till Thursday, because that means VACATION time! AHHHHHHHH! So in need of that! I won't be coming back to work till next Wednesday, so I will gladly be enjoying my time down in Destin.

Lane and Ashley finally get to meet Poot! EXCITED!!! Each day that passes I love that boy more and more. Like he couldn't be anymore loved ;-)

Only thing I dread.....the car ride! 8 hours! Gosh I hope Aiden will be a good car rider or mommy's nerves will be at maximum capacity. lol

Backsplash going up

Since our replacement countertop finally came in that means we get to put up our backsplash!!!! AHHH Finally! Yesterday it was installed. Today the grouting begins. Will update with a finish pic later. But once that is done my LOVELY pot filler can be installed. Such a fancy kitchen :-)

The backsplash is travertine with frosted glass pieces the same color of the walls. Love!

And of course here is a picture of the little man. Doing what he does best when Mommy is home. lol He plays with Daddy, sleeps with Mommy.....

Weight Watchers

So today I joined Weight Watchers. Hopefully to get off this extra baby weight.

My mom did it when she gained 60 lbs with each of us, and it worked great with her. My boss did it last year and is like a new person. So I'm figuring this would be the best route, because I can eat what I want but just have to keep up with points. Makes it easier for those rushed days and busy work days.

So I will keep my progress posted, and hopefully this time next year I can successfully say it's all gone.

My best friend Katie got married!!

Luckily it was here in Memphis, so I dropped off Aiden at the grandparents and went.

Other amazing news I got to see my other best friend who lives in Wisconsin! I LOVE YOU HEATHER!!! I haven't seen her in 2 years!!!

Funny how we all met, all 3 of us co-oped at IP together and remained close ever since. I remember when Katie met her hubby, Walt, which made it even more special. She looked beautiful and yes....I cried.

Here are some pics from the wedding. It was a sad day after, Heather went back to Wisconsin and Katie is moving to South Carolina. CAN WE PLEASE LIVE IN THE SAME STATE AGAIN?!?!?!

Been away...

So I finally decided on a new layout. I am loving it...so far! I still have some changes to make and create a header but another day.

I haven't posted in awhile, but it's been crazy at work and last weekend my best friend got MARRIED! I will post some pics of the wedding later it was gorgeous.

Tonight is cookbook club. I attempted to bake. Kinda weird I can cook anything, but when it comes to baking I somehow mess it up. So tonight I'm serving Strawberry Cake, and I think I messed up the icing. It was homemade and it just looks too soupy....Hopefully while I'm work it will thicken up so when I get home I can ice the cake.

Oh and I'm a horrible mother, I FINALLY ordered Aiden's birth announcements!! They look like the picture but the best part is....they are MAGNETS! Everyone needs magnets, and at least I know they won't get thrown in the trash. At least not right away ;-)

We will see........

Baby Essentials

So my sister-in-law inspired this latest purchase. A nursing cover! I didn't think I would need one, but after fighting with blankets and Aiden trying to pull them down, it came time to breakdown and get one. Whoever thought of them are awesome! I have been giving Aiden formula bottles when we go out in public, because I never wanted to expose myself to the world. Nor do I think they want to see my boob. lol This way Aiden is happy, I'm happy, and so is everyone else. :-) So thank you Ciarra! <3

The cover I picked out I thought was pretty without screaming...hey I'm a nursing cover!! lol...The pattern is very neutral. It has a strap that goes around your neck so those grabby hands won't yank down the cover...that is what Aiden does with blankets. Not cool when company is over! lol I also picked this cover because it was girly too. It has ruffles at the bottom and top. I thought it was precious. The colors are gray and off-white. The pictures look a little purple-ish but it's not. The best part is the name brand, Hooter Hiders, hahahahahaha can't get anymore obvious than that. I bet it took a LONG time to think of that name. riiiight!


















The other purchase was for Aiden. Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo Took me awhile to narrow it down, and then find the best price. The seat spins around and has toys he can play with on all sides. It will teach him to stand because he loves to kick, so he will be bouncing all over the place. ;-) It also had great reviews about the seat, since it has a high back we don't have to worry about his head jerking back. All the customer images were hilarious all the kids sleeping in it after wearing themselves out. I can see Aiden doing that. He absolutely loves his swing, but soon he will be outgrowing that, so this should keep him entertained while mommy and daddy eat, do chores, or watch tv. Don't worry pictures will come!

Hard Day

Leaving today was SOOOOO hard!

It's just going to get harder too. With each day that passes Aiden realizes more and more what's going on.

Normally when I kiss him by he continues to look up or at whatever he was staring at before. But....

Today he was following me with his eyes and turning his head like "Mommy, where are you going?!"

Nearly broke my heart. But I will see the little cutie very soon! Hehe daddy caught him smiling at me on Easter with his camera! GOTCA!

1st Easter

It was Aiden's first easter. We went to church and then to Gabby and Grande's. He slept the whole time during church thank goodness! But then after he was very very active almost fussy...and then after lunch we found out why....the WORST and I mean WORST number 2 diaper I'd seen since his newborn days. Poor little guy had a upset stomach. :-(

Before church Aiden was even passed out. It was cute he holding onto the bunny my parents got him for Easter. It was very cute! Maybe next year we can go to Birmingham. His grandparents here even had a little Easter basket for him. Not like he knew it, but it was really sweet. He got 2 new play outfits which I love, because they are soo easy to change. Some new Trumpette socks that are argle and have the 7 dwarfs name on them. A stuff animal, a blanket, bubbles, and a interactive book. Very lucky little boy to have such wonderful people in his life. I love this little guy with all my heart!
My happiest times are spent with Aiden and Wes. Love my little family!

Also, here is a shot of Aiden playing with his playmat. He loves one of the hanging toys so much. The other night he was giggling and smiling while hitting it. CLOSED FIST lol Hopefully he will open that hand soon. I don't want to get calls later about him hitting some kid. lol Kind of a violent toy, but he enjoys it. Likes the kick pad too, especially the noise that sounds like a bong. lol It's suppose to be water, but all I think about is....is that a bong?! lolol Really good thing to teach him. Wow!

House Pictures! FINALLY!

Okay So I didn't include pictures of the master bed and bath, and the guest/office room because they aren't done yet. So those are coming later. We did however pick out a shower curtain for our bathroom today. :-)

Hallway
This is going to be my picture wall. I have started, but over the years it will grow more and more! View is from our room, my wonderful hubby put the lights on a dimmer switch so in the night I can turn it low so clumsy me wont bust my butt when going to tend to Aiden.
**Excuse the box in the way, we are replacing the attic stairs for SAFE aluminum ones lol**


Spare Bathroom
aka the Bama bathroom. We are still doing work in here aka replacing the missing tiles, but overall it's pretty done. Missing tile is what you get in repo homes, but hey you wouldn't believe the price we got on the house. We did good. Eventually we are having all the tile on the wall sprayed white, because after we took out the master bath we decided not to take on the task of removing the 2 feet of concrete in the walls.




Kitchen
aka Murphy's bedroom. This is my dream kitchen! We haven't but the backsplash up or the pot filler because we can't until the new bar countertop comes in. You can't see in the picture but the edge is too short so they are replacing it. By the way....I love love love cooking with gas! And my cabinets are amazing! They have all the fancy features. I never dreamed my first kitchen would be this nice! TRULY BLESSED **Excuse the mess I didn't have time to clean today, running too many errands while Aiden was sleeping**








Family Room
Where we are like 90% of the time we are home. It's where Aiden plays and where we all spend time as a family. It's taken over by alot of baby items (swing, play pen, pay gym, etc) but that's okay.






Everyday when I wake up and walk around my beautiful home I think to myself...what did I do to deserve all this...words can't describe the happy feeling I get.
