Organization 2

Project 2 the Living Room.

Before
Let's face it this is how it looks every Sunday morning. After Tornado Aiden comes through on Saturday and adventures off to Gabby and Grande's it's saved till Sunday mornings. Minus the Anywhere Chair inserts (washing the cover). It's called a LIVING room for a reason right?! lol So just don't come to my house on Sunday mornings.

After
Really didn't do a whole lot of decluttering. Removed and moved around a few things from the top shelfs. Aiden's shelves bottom 3 on each side lol will be decluttered when we have our annual toy purging after Christmas.

I had previously purged all the cabinet drawers when we were moving around furniture before we got our extra couch. They house thousands of instruction manuals, endless tech equipment, batteries, cords, chargers, movies, etc.
------------------------------------------------------------
This weekend is jam packed with the Bama game, celebrating Wes' birthday, and hopefully a trip to the Zoo. I really would like to finish Aiden's room too. I'm about 90% done. Dreading the kitchen, but it has to get done eventually....

Semi-Free Personalized Halloween Bags

Hello fellow mommies. Wanted to share this awesome deal. Vistaprint is offering free tote bags you just have to pay Shipping & Handling. Got both my boys bags under $10. Great considering I got to personalize it and no more plastic pumpkin containers that are hard to store.

Check them out! Love! Very Boy! lol

Failed

So I failed my 3 hour glucose test! NOOO! But at least I didn't fail as bad as I did with Aiden I just remember being WAY over with him. This time my 2hr mark was 160 needs to be below 154, and my 3hr mark was 150 needs to be below 140. Ugh! So what does this mean?

I have to record what I eat and check my blood sugar 4 times a day. My poor fingers! My doc is going to monitor my levels and if they are crazy high I will be put on insulin shots. DEF don't want this!!

Yesterday evening I checked my levels after dinner. 118. This morning 82. Normal levels. So why the heck do I do so bad during the tests?!?! I seriously think my body goes into shock and can't break down the large amount of sugar I just ingested. Very frustrating.

And this also means I get hit with more expenses! UGH!! I seriously want to know why this stuff is SO expensive?!?! Thank goodness I still kept my machine and needles from Aiden, but I had to get some more test strips. How much for 12 day supply??? $51 yes so $127 a month just for strips! Does not include if I need more needles. I know it's for the safety of myself and Brody, but I think anyone would have a mini stroke hearing that...

What else does this mean?! I get to do another glucose 3 hour test after I have Brody too! YAH!! Not! I passed it last time with Aiden so hopefully I will do the same. Yesterday was a bad news day for me. :-(

Organization 1

Now since I have clean out Brody's closet it's time to reorganize the house. Project 1 the Linen Closet. How does this thing get so wild?! I had a brilliant plan but when I measured the door I was sad to find out the contraption wouldn't fit! NOOOOOOO!  My door is only 18 inches and the unit is 17 inches wide. So I had to develop a plan of my own...ek! I still am not 100% but it's pretty much finished.

Before.
It's not too bad but pretty untamed.

After

Top shelf aka the black hole now stores blankets. These come up and down frequently and never are properly folded so it's the most fitting spot because they won't come tumbling down when you open the door.

Next shelf stores towels. Don't worry we have more spare bathroom towels. lol Just got done bathing Murph the other day and I use like 3 on him.

Next stores sheets and beach towels. For the sheets I try the Martha Stewart way of folding but still aren't perfect but love it enough because I'm never searching for the match. I fold the sheet and extra pillowcase, and attempt to fold the fitted sheet and place it all in the other pillowcase. Works perfect and easy to grab.

Next stores fabric/yarn/stuffing. It's color coordinating and my space.

Bottom stores the gift wrapping supplies. The large bags are flat and resting against the left wall. All the other bags I placed within the blue dot dollar store gift bag. Gift boxes are resting against the other wall. In the middle I bought $3 stackable containers from Target (Going back for 1 more). Used my handy dandy label maker (bottom=labels, small boxes, Easter basket wrapping; middle= bows/ribbon; top= tissue paper). Then on each side of the closet I stacked the paper up to the ceiling. If they were out of the wrapper I stuck rubber bands on each end. I'm going to attach an elastic band from each shelf to the wall to hold them in tight (found my elastic last night).

For the shelf labels I just used printing paper cut it to size and taped it in the back.

Total cost for this project $9 for the 3 baskets.

Rug

Rug is purchased! Ek! I did SO good $152 including shipping! Just $2 off what I wanted to spend. Can't wait for it to get here. After much debate in my head I decided on a different color. I loved the green but I think the off-white part is kind of impractical for boys. Heck any kid. So I went with this...
The inspiration was Aqua with the same off-white part as the Green. But I went with Slate and Tan.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Today I had my 3 hour glucose test. It was harder getting the drink down this time, and I was SO tired and drained by the time I left there. Not to mention hungry! The other reason why I hate the test is getting the blood drawn. 1 poke I can handle but 4....not so much! I did 2 in my good arm and couldn't take another one....so we went with my bad arm. Took forever to find a vain and now its been 12 hours and my arm is still THROBBING hardcore! I can't even stretch out my arm straight or it feels like someone is pushing right on the puncture point with all their might.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Look forward to future posts dedicated to organizing my house. Since everything is in such a shift it's the perfect time. I'm doing a little at a time so it will be finished before Brodster gets here. I finished the linen closet today and started on Aiden's room. Looks so good!! Just want to simply life and declutter.

Little Things

As I'm trying to put Brody's room together I'm also having to plan for the future too. I don't want to purchase things that I won't be able to use in a 1.5 years. The minute we found out we were having another little boy we knew that eventually they would be in the same room and the nursery would be their playroom.

So I'm trying to make the nursery as baby-free as I possibly can. Primary colors that can work as they grow up, basic art, and pieces of furniture that will last. I'm doing pretty good so far I think.

Then it dawned on me one night as I was tucking Aiden in. Ekk I need to get another twin comforter like his! Which wouldn't you know Pottery Barn doesn't sell anymore. My luck! I know I probably shouldn't be purchasing it now, but 1.5 years down the road it will be even more IMPOSSIBLE to find. Plus I can go ahead and put it on the trundle bed. So it's really not a waste. Therefore right now I'm stalking the Internet to find one...if you find one LET ME KNOW! Pottery Barn Kasey All I've been finding is the primary color one not the Navy. UGH!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to Brody's room...well my plan was to make his quilt. I really don't see that happening now....I go to bed every night by 8:30-9 and my weekends are so packed. So that project might have to wait till after he's born while on my maternity leave. I will probably make it even bigger than I planned so both boys can cuddle underneath it, so all the squares I've cut out won't go to waste. lol

But I found another blanket that goes perfect and didn't break the bank! $28 with my discounts & tax then I had a $5 gift card from a previous purchase, which made it even better!! I put the sheet on the bed so you can get the big picture. Love Love Love! Everything matches but doesn't scream matchy matchy!
You might notice something else new....the shelf hidden in the tree. I bought a $3 shelf and used the tree paint to help it bend even better. Perfect spot for the monitor camera.
It's coming together!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor Wes has had an awful week and it's not over till Sunday. He's only had Tuesday off but the rest of the days he's been working 2/3am-6:30/7pm!!!! I'll be happy when Sunday comes! We miss him! Stupid Inventory week! Works so hard for me and his boys! I don't know if I could do those kind of hours back to back.

So yesterday I was going to be a good wifey and treat him since I knew he was tired and had to repeat that schedule today by getting his favorite Chickfila. This is something we don't do especially during the week. After I picked up Aiden we went so he could play while Daddy was finishing up and got home. Aiden had a BLAST! There were several kids there eating before church and the staff handed out balloons. The way to my son's heart! haha
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of pampering going on in the Lambert household. lol Aiden got to eat out during the week. I got my nails done. Now it's Daddy's turn...his birthday party next weekend! We are doing a joint for him and Steve since they are so close. Football theme and including water balloons again (I will have my camera ready!). Our relatives from New Orleans are coming up too. I'm making my yummy buffalo chicken dip and I'll probably make the cupcakes too.

But back to my nails. I'm an avid nail biter. Stop a couple years ago, grew them out by the time Aiden was here. And somewhere between then and now I started again...don't know why but I was back to square one. So a few weeks ago I decided to stop with Brody coming I didn't want ugly nails in the pictures. I began using Sally Hansen Miracle Growth again (this stuff REALLY works). You could see the white part on my nails after like 3 days. Yah! This time I'm going to keep my nails shorter and always manicured that way I won't be tempted to bite. Horrible habit I know...my anxiety calmer I guess.

Well one reason why I think my 1st nail growth attempt failed was whenever I got a manicure my nails would be chipped within the hour. So aggravating spending that money on nothing. Well now there is Shellac. And O.M.G! Love it!! I'm on like day 4 and no chips, my nails feel hard, and didn't break the bank. Only $20 bucks! It's suppose to last 2 weeks, but I'm hoping I can get it to last 3. Bye Bye to nail biting forever! (Next time I will be brave and get a color. lol Maybe!)

Manners

I have been so impressed with Aiden lately it makes me sad. haha Just shows how much of a little boy he is becoming!

I can confidently say hes 100% potty trained during the day including naps. We started last weekend with no pullups at night....results? Changing the sheets every morning. When that kid is asleep. He's ASLEEP! No whine, startles, etc when he peed on himself. I was hoping he would wake up so he knows to get out of bed....I guessed wrong. This week I am really swamped and drained so bad mommy is back on pullups throughout this week. We will start a new game plan this weekend.

My new night approach: No drinks after 7pm. Before Wes leaves for work he is going to go in Aiden's room, wake him up, and get him to go potty. One good thing about him working in the wee hours (mommy can sleep), but soon I know I'll be up with Brody so I can take a couple days if need be ;-). I read waking them up gets them in a pattern. Let's just hope it doesn't wake him up to much that he won't go back to bed.

My concerns: We have taught Aiden to stay in bed until we come in there....well now we are wanting him to get out of bed. I hope it doesn't confuse him!?!

I know he knows where his bathroom is, but will he be able to make it half asleep? One good thing is our hall lights are on a dimmer so it won't be pitch black dark.

If we don't see progress with this method. We will probably take a break and just continue to the no drinks after 7pm until further notice. But I really want him trained before Brody comes. A lot to ask of a 2.5 year old I know...but I think he can do it!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Aiden's vocabulary has improved so much it makes me thrilled! This was the one thing that kind of worried me. He was progressing so fast at everything else but to get words out other than Momma was tough. But now he's putting 3 word sentences together and starting conversation without prompting. I still wouldn't say he's 100% on track but every day his growth keeps me at ease. Late bloomer. Even his teachers are SO SO impressed. They actually say he's the talkative one in the class now (a title normally held by girls. haha). I appreciate how he can tell me things instead of me guessing. That game I'm not good at.
---------------------------------------------------------------
At Aiden's school to get in the building you have to have a swipe card, then to check your kid out you have to know a secret number/word. When Aiden changed to his potty training class he change codes....which for a 2 year old is a lot! I would tell his teacher his code he would look at me. "No Momma it's 2!" 'Yes you were 2 but now you are __'. Well it was something he couldn't say yet. Well just a few weeks ago he was able to say it instead of 2. lol So proud of him remembering. Got a high five from me and his teacher!
Every day his report card comes back like this. Go Aiden!! We have been working hard with him on saying "Thank You" and "Please" and it seems to be working! Yah! At his school the kids with good manners (saying thank you, please, sharing, and helping others) get a special setup for lunch. So all the kids want to be special of course!

One thing I've never worried about was Aiden being a helper. He LOVES it! So no matter what we are doing I always get him involved. I want him to learn how to do things so he can do them himself. He's old enough but it's so cute to see him try something new and get stuck/can't open causing him to ask for mommy's help. "Help me. Help Momma!" So adorable! Then it's always followed with a "Thank You". Could eat him up!
----------------------------------------------------
Funny note. I had to drop off a couple things at Gabby's house last night and of course Aiden heard me say Gabby. So he wanted to come too. I told him to finish his dinner and take a bath then maybe. And what came out of his mouth?!?! "WHY?" OMG. Who taught you that. haha has it officially started the Whys? My reply "Well because you take a bath after every meal and I said so." "WHY?" "Because Gabby doesn't like dirty little boys in her house." "Oh okay." lol really?!

Choices

We had a GREAT weekend! I have some of the CUTEST pictures of Aiden by the sunflowers. Wes is going to work his magic on them before I post, but omg SO CUTE! He was quite funny too. Bella and Carlos were both scared of the bumblebees regardless how many times I said they were friendly bees and there goes Aiden no fear trying to catch one. lol Then for some pictures I wanted him to touch the flower....which in his mind meant eat the flower. haha HILARIOUS! Don't worry I got some pictures of that. Never a dull moment. :-)

But we learned what to do next year. Bring more props (just brought a step this time), a blanket and entertainment for the ones not taking pictures or they will run wild. lol But overall a very good result! So happy! This time I put him in a white polo, but I'm thinking next year a brown to make it more fally.

I accomplished a project off my list. Finished Brody's bed skirt. A $3 project! Go me! Then added another project to my list. haha But this one should be simple. Just need Grande to cut some limbs 1.5-2 inches thick. But here's my inspiration/vision:
Total cost...Free! Compared to the inspiration price tag of $99 bucks! Helps to have everything on hand. Using the same craft paint used on the tree and re-using fallen limbs from a bad storm. Very eco friendly of me! lol

Now all my savings can go into a nice rug. Since this room will eventually be a playroom I want it to withstand 2 wild boys without screaming nursery rug. It took me all weekend to find one and I'm in love! Can't wait for it to come in!! I saw it on Project Nursery blog in blue and headed over to Overstock and ek there was a green. LOVE and under $200!!
Next to do. Hang my ABC print over the dresser and clean out the closet so we can get the organizer installed next month. Slowly coming together. While Wes is working on that I'm going to declutter the house. Why does it feel like I'm constantly doing this?!?!

1st reorganizing the living room book shelves, then attacking the coat closet. It's currently home to all my gift wrap supplies, but now needs to store the vacuum and shark mop who's current home is Brody's closet. Which brings me to my next project. Sense a pattern? lol I saw this inspiration and it would go perfect on our linen closet door! Plus, no drilling involved so if we ever move it can come with us! I love that!

Reflection

Being the 1st of my friends to have a baby I definitely learned from my mistakes, and don't get me wrong I still am no pro. haha There are things I def want/will have this time. The reason why I didn't "splurge" last time was because we were remodeling our house and with only one income at the time all of our "free" money went to the house. Well not this time. :-) Since it's going to be my last time I want to be fully prepared AHEAD OF TIME. haha
1. Lanolin cream. (Seriously no books said you needed this. OMG! It's a must for breastfeeding moms! I remember calling Wes' mom and asking her to grab a tube when getting my meds on the way home from the hospital I was in so much pain.)
Got a coupon from the doctor's office, so I'll be grabbing up some soon.

2. Sleeping nursing bras. (I had normal bras, but they were too uncomfortable to sleep in so I slept in my normal sports bras. Nope made feedings impossible at 2-3am. Always worried it would slide down and cover Aiden. So I ended up not sleeping with anything, which caused alot of aches and sheet changing) Just purchased a couple pairs from Target.

3. Granny panties totally high waisted. Sexy! (I had to get Wes to take me to Walmart the following week once we got home because all my undies landed right on my incision. Ouch!! Yes, I totally rocked the hospital net ones on this run. hahaha!)
I packed them up with my breastfeeding items, so hopefully I won't need to get more...

4. Comfy nursing pjs. (Lets face it that first month do you get out of your pjs?! I think I did once or twice but not everyday. Since I was still recovering I didn't want anything tight or restricting. I rocked mainly tshirts and sweats last time since it was snowing, but I decided I wanted "cuter" pjs this time. lol My splurge.)
Bought one at Motherhood outlet at the beach (mine is purple), One at Walmart (not my print), and one at Target.

5. Large swaddle blankets. (We received a few of those SwaddleMe blankets as baby gifts. And if you have an escape artist like Aiden they won't work. He was constantly able to somehow get an arm out. Receiving blankets didn't work because hello I had a big baby. lol So I splurge on some aden + anais like blankets, they are larger so I'm hoping to be able to swaddle better.)
I bought/stalked the BasicGrey swaddles until they were marked down to $21 even before we knew what we were having. I love them, so soft and happy! (There was a local store here wanting $40 for them. Ek I wanted to splurge but not that much! haha)

Can't believe Brody's arrival is approaching fast!! So much to still do. Lots of little projects. Next month he is going to be one showered little boy. My co-workers are having a breakfast to celebrate and to give gifts, then our close friends are throwing us a Diaper & Wipe party. Very excited and very blessed.
--------------------------------------
Speaking of diapers...this weekend Aiden is no longer going to be wearing pullups at night.....eeek! It needs to happen though. Looks like my laundry is going to be increasing...
--------------------------------------

Yesterday was an EXHAUSTING day for me. The night before Aiden was up all night coughing, asthma acting up, and Daddy isn't feeling well either (with him on NyQuil it's better for me to sleep on the couch. He moves so much on that stuff). So there I am on the couch waking up like every hour because 1. Worrying about my baby. 2. Making sure I hear Wes' alarm so he can go to work at 2am. 3. Worrying about Aiden when he doesn't cough....I was DEAD when I woke up at 6am to Aiden saying over and over "Momma! Mooooma! MOMMA!". I go in Aiden's room to only find out he's thrown up from so much coughing! Oh no, so we stayed at home so he could get some intense breathing treatments and get stocked up on meds. Luckily there was no fever, but I still wanted to watch him.

Needless to say he was his normal self. CRAZY, needing constant attention, and a RUNNY runny nose (at least it was clear). And me being Exhausted and still having to work remote was hard. So yes I so bribed Aiden. haha I told him if he sat still and watched Toy Story without bothering me he could get a cookie. Well.....it sorta worked. Every 15 minutes he would come in our room "Mommy potty." So I get up to watch over him. It was on constant repeat. I was SO SO cranky by the time Wes got home around 1pm. So once we put Aiden down for a nap. I took a long hot relaxing bath to unwind. Just what I needed. While I was doing that super dad fixed the vacuum (the belt was broken), vacuumed the living room and hall, and left me alone. haha Aiden slept till 4 so I was able to get a lot of work done and catch up. So I told Daddy if Aiden had a bad night again he would need to stay home, because Mommy can't do that 2 days in a row. Very tough having to do my job and tend to Aiden while being pregnant with no sleep. Patience runs out quick.

But good news there was some coughing here and there, but vastly improved from the night before so he went to school today with his breathing machine in hand. So thankful they will give him treatments there! I really hope Brody doesn't have to go through this too.
--------------------------------------
Just got my results back from my glucose test. UGH! SERIOUSLY!! I was 150 and I only needed 140 to pass. NOOOOOO! So that means next Friday I go for the 3 hour one. NOOOOO!!! My doctors standards are higher because others will pass if you are under 160. My luck! So annoying! :-(

Silly Kid

Aiden is such a silly boy.

Whenever he sees a white car or truck he calls out "Abby!" (Wes' Mom is Gabby but Aiden calls her Abby. And even Grande, Wes' Dad is Abby. When I correct him and say Grande he looks at me so puzzled and repeats "Ran-de?" like I'm a crazy person. lol) Then gets upset with me when I won't follow the car. Lets just say there are lots of white cars out there, and apparently everyone is ABBY!

On the way to his school we drive past some farm lands, where they were growing corn right now. Each day I ask him where is the corn and he points and says "CORN!" Then proceeds to tell me that there are apples and bananas out there too. Whoa buddy that's awesome! So I ask what about oranges? Any oranges? Sometimes there are and sometimes he looks at me shakes his head, "No oranges!" What about peaches? "No Momma! No Peaches!" Hmmmm....well today when we drove past they had just got done harvesting the corn and Aiden yells "Momma!! Oh no! The corns gone!" I asked him where it went. His reply. "The puppies got it" hahahaha Darn those puppies!

Each night I go outside to water my flowers and Aiden comes out with me too. And each day without a doubt he picks up the hose squirter that is detached and runs around the yard pointing it up at the trees screaming. I ask him what he's doing. "I got the bird Momma!" Oh thank you Aiden I was worried! And if he sees a squirrel on the ground he turns into Murphy and chases it back up the tree to then proceed to 'shoot' it.

Those are just a few things he does. Needless to say I'm constantly laughing. Says the funniest things! Love it!

We are having great weather right now highs are in the high 80s! So we might be able to make it to the zoo this weekend! Yah! Saturday morning me and Abby are taking the kids to the sunflower fields to take pictures before they die off. Been wanting to do that since Aiden was a baby but I always remember once they turn brown. Not this year! :-)

Finished

We had an EXHAUSTING weekend in the Lambert household.

Friday night me and Aiden went over to help with Bella's birthday party. Stayed up way to late like close to 10pm. WAY past my bed time! Regina did a great job on her present a "dress up area" with my old vanity. We gave her a bunch of play makeup, fingernail polish, and a case to put it all in. Perfect for a 9 year old.
Saturday we woke up at 9:30 and headed back over to the inlaws around 11 to help some more. Then it was party time! Wes came after work and just in time for the water balloon fight. MAN I wish I took pictures or video taped it! It was HILARIOUS!!!! All morning Carlos and Aiden were dying to throw them and once they had the chance Carlos took a balloon to the chest started crying his head off and wanted nothing to do with it. So that left Aiden and Wes against all the girls. Aiden took one on the back and the shoulder and didn't phase him. Man child! But the funniest part was Aiden. He would get the balloons out of the bucket and throw them randomly not even facing the girls. hahaha then once they were out he went over to the girls side and started ganging up on Daddy. Hilarious! I don't think I've laughed that hard in awhile. I was practically crying.
We headed back home close to 5. Aiden was exhausted and Mommy and Daddy were exhausted too. I took a little nap and woke up around 7. Then finished a little project. Now I just need to finish Brody's blanket, bed skirt, and changing pad covers...Oh yeah and install the shelf to go on the owl's limb for the video camera. (Don't worry Daddy gets the hard projects. lol Like doing most of the house cleaning...because if I can't do it while sitting down game over. And the only cleaning smells I can take is Pledge and Windex.)

Sunday me, Regina, and Aiden headed over to see Wes play in his baseball game. Man that was the nicest complex ever! I told Wes we would come more....with it being so hot I thought we would be miserable...heck no. They had this nice indoor part with tables and AC! Then the stands had bucket seats, not metal benches. And the best part a shade cover!! O.M.G so no freaking out with fly balls and it kept the area so cool. Highly impressed.
This was day #2 Aiden did not take a nap. Surprisingly he did pretty well....didn't listen that great, but was extremely happy and laughing. I have more patience than that...probably would have lost it if he was being a cry baby. However, once we headed up to Target I always give him a chance to walk. Bad idea. WILD MAN running up and down the rows wanting me to "play" and well a pregnant mommy is no fun. So off to the seat he went. I kept my cool...at least he wasn't throwing a fit and crying. Can't really have time out in the middle of Target. lol Isn't that the worst place for fits...perfect world it would only happen at home (hey I can dream right?!).

Back to the story. We were there because it was right next to the fields and Regina wanted to get Bella's Christmas present and Aiden desperately needed new tennis shoes. He hadn't worn his in months and when I went to put them on that morning whoa buddy tooo small. He went from an 8 to a 10. What the heck! And this is why he only has 2 pairs of shoes max. They had the perfect dress up shoes that I'm gonna wait to get when it gets colder...so right now we have Crocs and Tennis Shoes. Kid shoes are so dang expensive since they only get worn like 1 season. Aiden approved the new shoes because they light up like his old ones...no big on change.
Once we got home, me and Aiden snuggled on the couch and watched Lady and the Tramp with Murphy of course then it was off to bed. Our weekend was too long. Drop off today was horrible. Aiden didn't want me to go. Mondays are the worst because he gets so spoiled being with me 24/7. So I leave with random phone pictures. See the nasty bug bite he got on his leg from Saturday....which resulted in him wearing pants to school today (taken on the way home after Target Sunday in "Abby's" car).

Dress

You know when you have something in your mind you want but can't find it's SO aggravating?! I've been wanting for MONTHS a certain long cotton dress. I see people wearing different ones and think oh man that is so cute! Plus I can wear it to work! haha (I always think that when clothes shopping)

Well it seemed like every style out in long were strapless (no no since I am blessed up top. haha); the fold-over V neckline (no no again if you are blessed). Then if you have kids you have to account for their little hands pulling at the neck line, so no low cut....really limits my options.

Is it really that hard to have a basic, mid cut neckline dress?! Apparently yes. All the ones I found were crazy patterns...and I don't do crazy patterns. My hips would never forgive me. haha. Plus with a belly in tow I really don't want to scream I'm pregnant (even though it's kinda hard to hide it now).

So I'm at Target for a wasp killer run (one of our flood lights has been invaded) and say to myself, "Let's just check it out, since we haven't been in awhile"....and first glance there she was! Beauty! If it came in black I would have bought 2. All I need to do for work is throw a cardigan over it. Yes, I even paid full price (well I still did have our discounts but you know what I mean)! I didn't even bother to tell Wes about the purchase because he knows how frustrating it is getting dressed each morning now (and I still have 3 months to go.....sad face. I need the cold weather to come because that's what my 3rd trimester clothes are from Aiden....Can't wear my sweaters and long sleeve dresses in 105 degree weather!)
And wouldn't you know it I walked out of there with no wasp killer...seriously 10 different kinds of ant and roach killer. Not one wasp killer!

Speaking of my pregnancy. I've mentioned before this time around hasn't been my favorite. I just keep telling myself 3 more months! But as of this week I've now experienced something new. As my belly grows my skin is getting pulled out....that includes my last c-section incision. Which now itches like crazy! I don't have any feeling there so it feels weird touching it, and I can't really scratch it without it weirding me out (envisions my cut reopening which it physically impossible but I still feel like that). So now my nightly routine has included lathering that spot up with lotion, which gets all over the bed making my laundry pile up. Lose lose situation. The worst is when I'm out or at work...can't really do anything about it there. Hope this doesn't get any worse. Going to ask the doc on Tuesday after my lovely glucose test about it.

This is reason #1 I'm praying that Brody's head is smaller than Aidens. Our insurance gave us the green light to have him natural if we can. Before it was out the picture, they wouldn't cover vbac but since every other insurance and their brother (mainly BCBS) does they changed their policy. Did you know they can change there policies whenever they want....like mid year?! Crazy! I feel like this is doomed anyway because both me and Wes come from/have big heads. But hey I at least want to try.

So for now I will prepare myself to have another c-section. Bring on the high waisted granny panties!

Tree

Brody's room is finally coming together! The painting is 100% done! Now I can spend the rest of the time getting the wall decor in order. Wes is going to install the closet organizer once I pick one out...but that will be a Sept purchase (last doctor payment this month). Eventually this room will be the playroom so I want the closet to have more shelves than bars causing the price go up.

Remember where we started?
Now it looks like this! I am in love! Have to say it's my best work yet! Gender neutral and will easily transition into a playroom and the use of primary colors will work as the boys get older. Score mommy!
I'm trying to find a cute squirrel image to use as a reference for the left bottom branch. But other than that it's done! Thanks to my friend Erica for coming over and helping with the painting or I would have been there for days. lol

The tree goes perfectly with his sheets too.
I have found something to put as the main focal point as you walk in above the club chair. I want it 3 by 3. Now just have to debate with myself pay $45 for 9 or make them myself....

Side note: I just took care of Wes' birthday and Christmas gift! haha He is so simply to buy for. All he wanted was the NFL Sunday ticket. I like it because we can pay it off in 5 months and doesn't require any store shopping. Men and their sports. lol

Baby Book

Post 2 of the day (really all these were in draft from yesterday).
With Brody quickly approaching I need to go ahead and order his baby book...which when I was thinking of it made me want to declutter and re-organize our bookcases since I'm adding to it.

I'm getting the same album as Aiden's. I absolutely LOVE it!! The lady I worked with let me customize so many things. Most baby albums have their pages 0-3, 3-6, etc. I wanted individual months. Yes I paid a little bit more, but I feel like with things like this you want them to be perfect the way you want them. Because before I know it Aiden and Brody won't be babies and I'll want those memories recorded.
Aiden's book is brown, so Brody's I was thinking a blue or green. The design theme will be the same as Aiden's since I'm getting her to do another custom listing for me. I want to have pages K-12 where I can put just their school photo, and since she will only have to create the design once I can get it for $8 instead of $16. (She's reusing a custom design from Aiden's book so I can get it at the old custom price of $5. yah!)
Best part about it is...each page has a clear protector around it!

Strep

Seriously. Again. For the past 2 years I've had strep twice. Now make it 3 times! UGH!!!! Never in my life now it's like clockwork. Every 6 months.

At least now I know once I feel that tickle in my throat and a constant heavy cough it's strep coming. The 1st time I didn't know (thought it was just allergies) until it was AWFUL running 102 fever with sweats and chills.

Maybe that's why I've felt extremely exhausted last week...hard to tell since that is a pregnancy symptom. Glad I can get on my meds and have Aiden at daycare most the day while I'm contagious. Last thing I want him to get. I hate being locked in the bedroom away from him for 24 hours especially when he sits at the door and calls out for Momma. Breaks my heart!

Pains

My favorite thing about summer is squash and zucchini. Literally eat them everyday for dinner.  My sense of smell has been kicking in high gear because for some reason the smell of meat cooking (any type) just makes me hurl. So Wes has to cook it before I get home. But lately my craving is cooking brown rice in chicken broth then throwing in the veggies for dinner. Talk about YUM! I find I wake up better in the morning (no sickness).

Brody is still a kicking machine. Now the morning kicks have died off to start up around 1ish. Like clockwork. Then right before bed around 9 he starts up hardcore. Therefore I've been having lots of restless nights tossing and turning completely draining me. Which makes me give into that cup of coffee the next morning...either that or my brain would shut off I think. lol

Being pregnant and potty training probably wasn't the smartest idea but I didn't want to have a big age gap between kids. Some days we are great at home. Other days (the ones where I'm completely exhausted) I get so frustrated. It literally feels like he goes potty every 10 minutes lol (probably 30 but feels like 10). And now that he is standing up he can't go by himself....or there will be pee all over the floor and all over him. Luckily Daddy is there most the time so he takes over on my bad days, but man the other day I was 1 pee away from losing it until he did the cutest thing. He actually held himself and aimed perfectly causing him to get so excited he turns toward me (still peeing) and pees on my foot. Before I could say anything he said "Sorry Momma!! I did it!!" He sure did! I gave him a big hug and told him he was my big man now! Which of course he got perked up and went running to tell Daddy.

As much as he drives me insane he keeps me sane and grounded. Couldn't ask for a better kid. But seriously potty training boys is tough work! And I get to do it all over again. lol But other good news Aiden's teacher informed the office that he is ready to move up in 2 weeks in the other class when they have an opening. She wanted to keep him an extra 2 weeks to work on his "mini meltdowns". Definitely know what she's talking about there!! ha In his classroom they work on an activity then go to another etc like big school...well sometimes Aiden doesn't want to go to activity 2 but still work on 1. So he pouts his lip or puts his head down having a pity party...so I said if they want to enforce the time-out chair more during those meltdowns they are welcome to it. He just needs to learn to follow directions always and the world doesn't revolve around him. lol say what?!

Good news. Yesterday evening our close friends Trey and Brit had their 1st little boy!! Me and Erica hopped on over during our lunch break today to visit the little guy. OMG SO CUTE and SOO TINY! He was 7lbs and felt so small...guess I'm used to holding 10lb babies :-) Loved his little red hair. Momma was still a little out of it due to her c-section but doing great. Other awesome part about it was I got to check out the part of the hospital Brody will be born at. It's the same hospital as Aiden but their maternity division has a brand new building. SO nice and spacious rooms! We will bring Aiden over to visit in 2 weeks after they get settled at home....to see how he handles a newborn. EK!
As I mentioned in a previous post last weekend was mine and Wes' anniversary. It was a great one. We went to Melting Pot for dinner (Wes had never been). We spent 2 hours in there! MAN! Didn't feel that long. Wes loved the meal and actually wants to do it again for another big date night. For our gifts I got him a new wallet and inside put pictures of me and him and of Aiden writing nice things on the back of them....better than a card right?! Then he gave me my gift wrote a sweet letter to me (made me tear up) and my Pandora bead, which direct quote "picked that one because it's blue so you will think of all your boys." awww that's true. Good job babe!
Scary news. I was outside watering my Hydrangeas with Aiden showing him all the new blooms. Like 4-5 new blooms popping up. YAH!! It might actually be a big bush in 2 years instead of 4-5. Well as I'm doing that I don't know what made me do it but I glanced at the flood light. Couldn't believe my eyes looked again. Then commanded Aiden to go back to the door. Why did I freak out?! Oh because there were probably 30 wasps surrounding it. OMG!!!! I had been wondering all summer where they had been..now I know. OMG! They will live one more day until I stop and pick up some wasp killer tomorrow, but I went in and told Wes to get all over that Thursday evening. Last thing I need is to get stung by one.
