Three

Now that Christmas is over I have a month to plan, organize, create, purchase items for Aidens 3rd birthday party. Ekkk!! And with returning to work mid jan my "free" time is limited. (Gonna be swamped)

The present is under control. Since Aiden is a train and car hoarder he needs a spot to play. A table is out of the question bc we have no room.

Game plan. Turn his trundle base into a fun table. We don't need a mattress until its time to move Brody in there so we've got 2 years of play space.

Cost?! Nothing!! I have the paint and train set already. I've started but many more coats to go...I traced the train tracks so it will be easy for him to set it up (like a puzzle). I didn't want to glue or nail them in since eventually there will be a bed in its spot and the boards will be turned over. (The black square is the cars parking lot. haha)

But I can't not get him anything so....listen how awesome I did:
I got a motorized train off eBay for $8 those suckers are like over $20!
The best deal...Disney Cars diecasts. I had planned on getting him 3 new ones bc they are $4 each, but Walmart had them marked down to $1.25!!!! So I got him 6, and 2 extra for their school's Christmas parties next year (They can't spend over $5).

His other 2 gifts were steals too. Got a Buzz Lightyear jacket for half off and his favorite show at the moment is Curious George so a new friend to keep him safe in bed since he says he's "scared" (joking bc he wants to join me in bed).

Christmas Adults

2nd post of the day. Broke out my Christmas posts so they are short.

Well I've been very good this year apparently! Lol not only did I get an iPad mini, but Wes got me a few other things!

Since the weather is so extreme here and with a little one who wants to play in the snow it is a must to get the right attire. And I want to say personally its difficult when you have a big head. Lol hooded jackets never fit right and forget hats...unless they stretch (stretch too much and the warm factor decreases). I've never found anything over the years that fit 100% perfect until now!

Hooded jacket check! North Face Hooded Denali. The color will require more maintenance, but we couldn't find my first color option (brown) anywhere. So I ended up with White and Silver....not a black kind of girl. But totally in love and the hood goes beyond my big head so I can zip it all the way up! Yeah!!!

Next problem a hat. I've always wanted to wear a cute winter hat, but my big head gets in the way....I took a chance and said hmmm this might work when I was at Bass Pro buying Wes' new coat and it fit, must purchase! North Face Shinsky Beanie in ivory. After Christmas I will probably use my splurge money on the purple one too. Stock up while its available lol (non-trendy item).

Next items I got from the wonderful hubby was Brody's and my Bama charm for my Pandora bracelet. Can't think of Bama without thinking of an elephant RTR!! Brody's is the baby bootie.

Beads meanings:
4 leaf clover- birthstone (may) and the Irish in me (I'm a Mc after all)
Boy- Aiden
"L"- marriage
Blue bead- anniversary and all my boys
(Wes' parents also got me a bead too that's not pictured-Family Forever)
I got Wes a few nice Columbia shirts, a new Braves hat, a couple of FSU shirts, winter jacket, FSU tumbler, 2 boxes of sport cards, and the best of all a new penny for his "Lucky Pennies" keychain. New baby = new penny. He can never forget our anniversary or our boys bdays. Lol we know how men are!
Wes was so surprised, since he only asked for the cards, and for all he does he deserves to be spoiled too. He really loved his new jacket too. Dressy and casual and will block out our numbing winds. Recommend. North Face Windwall 1

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas with Wes' family all on Christmas Eve, since Wes worked Christmas night. Man were the kids in for a treat!! Santa stopped by! And Aiden wasn't afraid bc he brought candy! Lol
He must have been extra good to have a personal visit.

Next came the yummy dinner and presents. Aiden totally knew what to do. He was moving so fast all my pics his hands are blurs. He got to open part one of Gabby and Grande's gift....Thomas the Train. This boy sure loves trains he was hoarding his and Carlos' by the end of the night. Which cracked all of us up.

Love these people so much! So blessed!!

Cookies

2nd post of the day...catching up.....

This was the first year I've done cookies with Aiden and it was a success!! However my aprons did not get done in time......next year.
First we rolled out the dough....it was lumpy but I told him he was in charge. He had a blast cutting them out too, but picking them up was a different story. Mommy had to perform a lot of cookie saving procedures on the tray lol!

He let me do the last 2 batches so they weren't all deformed lol. Now I was one brave mom tackling this through nap time. Silly me forgot to put the dough in the freezer in the frig the night before...I planned on baking in the am and decorating after nap time. Mommy fail.
Now it's 4 and Carlos and Bella come over to join the fun. I helped Aiden with the sprinkles otherwise they would be all on 1 cookie! Lol He really enjoying piling on the writing gel. His gingerbread man looked like he was bleeding to death.
Party successful!! It's 6ish by this point and we are just hanging out...and my tired son is very whiney. Party is wrap! Now to stock up on sprinkles and writers after Christmas for next year.
Here are the ones Aiden picked out for him and Brody to give to Santa. He can't wait to eat them. Wink wink.
This little boy was an angel during my QT with Aiden. I adore this penguin sleeper even if it was in the girl section. Lol it's white, gray, and penguins....how is that girl?

ENT

Finally getting around to posting this from last week....

So I take Brody back to the doc (btw 2 kids I've been there 4 times in 3wks) and another trip to the pharmacy which I no longer have to show my ID bc they know me....geez! We have good and bad news. Good first:
Brody is one tough kid! Bc his left ear still has fluid but we have no complaints.

His breathing is back to normal and chest sounds great! Doc was surprised we didn't need a hospital visit bc most babies this young do.
Now the bad:

Since Brody's ear still doesn't look good we are changing antibiotics from amoxicillin to augmetin. Then in 10-14 days we have to go see the Ears, Nose, Throat Doc to have his ears checked. Since he's so young it's usually a sign they need tubes later, so his pediatrician wants to make sure he's okay! Poor Brody! Guess I was only lucky with one kid on that end, but I will pray for him.
Bc of all the antibiotics his belly is ALL out of whack. Making him soooooo gassy and uncomfortable. Bedtime was hard last night bc he was miserable with each toot and laying flat was a no go. Well to help the Doc recommended Biogaia. Pharmacist said its great stuff....and I hope so at $26 for only 5ml!!!! Must be gold, which I'll be the judge of that.

He was well to finally get his HepB shot. Man, he got sooooooo red faced and didn't breathe until I picked him up, let out one cry, and tears streaming down. Breaks my heart! Another news this guy is a CHUNK!! Up to 13 pounds!! Gained basically a pound in a week! His feedings haven't increased a few times he pushes from 4 to 5 oz but its not every time.

I also went to the Doc today and got the green light! Yeah!! My incision looks great.

Random: when the tickle monster comes out Aiden fakes cries then when he's released he jumps back on the "monster". Lol

Santa

Well we did it. You can mark Santa off our list. I picked up Aiden right after naptime (VERY important since he had his sugar loaded christmas party earlier) brought him home to change clothes. Yes the boys did match and we were off to see Santa!!!
We get there and Aiden was SO excited! The fake elk that moved was so awesome according to Aiden (had to point it out every time and tell every one). Then we are in the line....and he spots it. The train. Game over....his full attention was all about the train. Forget Santa...Noooo!!!!
It's our turn and Aiden def wants nothing to do with it. So Daddy had to give him a pep talk and a candy cane to hold. (Sneaky mom was trying to catch a picture of Aiden crying, before I was told no personal pictures. Booo I wanted to catch the meltdown!) However, we ended up with a pretty decent picture (Aiden is running toward me).

After Santa we grabbed a bite to eat then head over to Starry Nights.  As Aiden says "CHRISMAS LIGHTS!!!!!!" Forgets the T in Christmas. I was SO adorable seeing his face as we were driving through the Shelby Farms. The light show is SO amazing!! Me and Wes were just chuckling hearing Aiden point out each thing and telling us what it is like we have no idea. However the bison was a cow each time (the park has bison). lol

Brody 1 month

I can't believe he is already 1 month working on 2!! Going to fast!! It's going to be hard leaving him in a few weeks. My maternity leave= LOTS of picture taking. haha I am always armed with my phone camera. Can't let the moments pass away not being documented.
Weight: 12lb 0.5oz
Length: 22.25in
Diaper Size 2
Clothes: 3-6mo
Likes:
  • Being held, especially by mommy. I will cry once she puts me down
  • Baths!
  • Being in the swing those moments mommy needs to get chores done.
  • Sleeping on my tummy (supervised)
Dislikes:
  • Not being held
  • When my brother man handles my face instead of patting the top of my head
  • The doctors office
  • When I poop. My face turns bright red and I cry when I fart.
You really are a great baby! Can't believe I'm saying this but I think you are much easier than Aiden. You sleep much easier. Our nighttime routine is feed at 9ish-3am-6am. I still only breastfeed you at the 3am feeding but all the rest you are given bottles. I regret when I let you feed off me during the day because the next time you take the bottle you get pissed. Sorry buddy trying to make your life better in 4 weeks.
You had your 1st illness....bronchitis. So I got to experience 2 kids both on breathing machines and antibiotics for the 1st time. lol You did pretty good with the 1st treatment too. You didn't require extra help like your brother who was bigger and stronger at the time. But you were doing MUCH better after a day!
I LOOOOOVE that sweet smile! You constantly do it especially in my arms!
Tonight is a fun night in the Lambert household. Post to come.....

Tree

3rd post of the day.
We got our tree up this weekend!! Aiden was SUCH a big help! I put the lights on and then he was all over it. We started off with all the non-breakables, bells, plush, etc. He was so happy to help and loaded down the bottom of the tree. lol (I had to do some rearranging when he was away)
Aiden even helped pull out the presents from the closet and placed them under the tree. We have one full tree. His favorite ornament is the jingle bells. LOVE LIVE TREES!

It turned out great and every day he comments on it. Even protects it from Murph, because apparently to him Murph eats it. lol

My dear friend Erica surprised me with a little gift at our girls lunch on Saturday. A new family ornament...which I LOOOOVE!! Little did she know our other family ornament was snowmen too.
