Events

K I feel horrible but I did not take one single picture of our Tacky Sweater party food! I tried so many things I found on Pinterest. Everyone approved so I will share links.

And man that party was SOOOOOOOOO much fun! However we are not party animals everyone was gone before midnight and I was up by 7am. PARTY! haha Everyone looked great...maybe I can steal a few pictures from Miss Brit later.

Mine turned out Green and became Reindeer Food. :-)

Don't use black piping gel if you don't want black teeth. Red Velvet Cake for the inside.

The hit of the night!! I made red and green!

Don't but Blueberry Vodka in.....Hear that Beans?!?

The ladies from my group get together every month for a ladies lunch so this month it was an ornament swap and lunch at Firebirds. Such a good group! Two were missing due to meetings boo! I got a pretty cross ornament that goes perfect for my rustic tree.

Last Thursday after work myself, Aiden, and my dear friend Erica packed up and headed over to Shelby Farms for Starry Nights, a drive-through light show. Shelby Farms is AMAZING and this event helps keep it up, so of course we were game! IP is one of the sponsors and our light exhibit was AMAZING!!!! Our section had us driving through the trees and there were thousands of stars and angels everywhere sooo beautiful!

However, it was QUITE scary at the beginning. There was suppose to be lights around the road to help guide you, because you only have your parking lights on. Well......they were out. so I didn't know if I was going off the road and heading into a tree or a lake or another car. SOOO scary! But eventually they were lit and we were on our way.

At the end there was a Mistletoe Village where you can meet Santa. Man....Aiden wanted NOTHING to do with him and was trying to slide out of his arms. lol The only way he would focus is if I got in the sleigh so the lady could take the picture (excuse my hand in the photo). So funny! Then afterwards Aiden was giving him the "Hey mister I'm watching you. You better stay there." look. Me and Erica were dying. Priceless!

Next Friday I'm throwing a Polar Express party for the little kids in the family (pics to come). Then Saturday we are heading up to Bass Pro Shop for another try at Santa.

Card Done!

I wanted to share our card since I didn't have enough to share out to everyone. I have a large family! Aiden was so cute. I wish the lights were white, but they were already on the tree so colored lights it was. And wrapping him in them was not in the cards....he was freaking out when that happened so we just had to place them in his lap. Oh well he still looks freakin adorable as ever! LOVE!

Photo Card
View the entire collection of cards.

Thanks to my Pampers reward program my cards were free and just sharing my preview I'm getting $10 off my next order! HECK YA! Love savings!! Shutterfly has been great these past two years.

Visit from an Elf

Well our Elf arrived at our house this year! And man has he been getting into things. Granted I'm pointing it out to Aiden everyday but that smile is worth it. Maybe next year he will be more into and hopefully we can name "Elf". However, he LOVED his elf arrival "North Pole Breakfast"!! Never gets sweets like that.

So how did I do it? Well the North Pole frame was just a dollar store frame with scrapbook paper and stickers I already had. The cup and plate I already had from last year's celerance. Each year "Elf" will write Aiden a letter that I will of course keep! :-) But since it was the first year Santa wrote him. It says:

Aiden, It is my pleasure to introduce your Magic Elf assigned to your family this and every holiday season. He comes from the North Pole to help me know if you've been naughty or nice. He watches with his very own eyes and reports back to me every night! So be a good boy! Merry Christmas, Santa

Each year at the Elf's arrival he will bring a small gift. This year it was an Elf coloring book and some jumbo crayons I picked up from the dollar store.

Now for the good stuff. Food. I baked banana nut muffins. Shells a few peppermint kisses. And finally stuck 3 powdered donuts on a candy cane. Granted on a normal day he would only get a muffin out of this meal, but it was a special day so he could get bad, messy stuff. And let me tell you this little boy knew it was a special day bc he went straight for the kisses and looked at me like "Oh My! CHOCOLATE at Breakfast?!?!"

We didn't have time to read the book in the AM so once we got back home we curled up on the couch read the book then watched the short movie too. What I call a perfect day!

Christmas Decor

All the decor is up! Every bit of it I love!

Starting with the living room and our stockings hanging off the entertainment center. Don't worry Aiden knows to only look but not touch or his toe is going to hurt. Eventually the small frames will have a picture in it...but that will come.

Then my FAV part. Aiden's tree. His Grinch tree!! The picture I took is before it was 100% done. I found a couple of Wes' Grinch ornaments as I was putting up our tree then I found a small Grinch stuff animal that sits at the very top. You just can't get any cuter than that! I think we get more compliments on that than our real tree. :-)

Last year I put Christmas cards out on my buffet, but received so many I couldn't display them all. So last October I made a clothespin wreath that will hold them all! I stuck a few cards from last year so it wouldn't look so bare. And speaking of cards I PROMISE I will get them out next week. So behind!!!!!! I love my tinsel garland, but after christmas this year I want to replace it with "natural" garland so I can put red bows in each of the gathers.

Now the best part!! Our tree!!!! I just love love love our real trees. Yes it's a pain, but you can't replace the smells that come with them every year. I had wanted us to go to the tree farm and cut ones down ourselves...but yeah our schedules were too crazy. Boo! NEXT YEAR! But we went to our awesome local Farmers Market (best part about living out in the country) and got one. And the double bonus was all the proceeds went to charity thanks to the Millington Kiwanis Club. (And yes Mom and Dad those gold satin balls will look SOOOO awesome next year ;-) hehe)

We are heading back up to the Farmers Market this weekend to go enjoy hot cocoa/cider and go on an "enchanted" hayride. aka field full of lights. Aiden will love it. He's a big fan of lights....my little Clark Griswold! Then another visit by the Big Man himself, Santa! Let's hope this visit is better. All this fun for 2 cans of food for Millington's Food Pantry.

Now the best decor of all! Thank GOODNESS my parents didn't sell this. My LARGE ceramic Christmas tree! It's probably a good 30+ years old and double bonus it was Mudder's. :-) Makes it that much better! It just needed a new topper, an angel was too fitting. Hands down my most coveted decor and will probably be triple bubbled wrapped after christmas! lol Just need to find a plastic bin large enough for it. Complete love!
