Catch Up

Been a little M.I.A. because we have had a busy household, and I've been recouping. Recouping? Yes...On Saturday night I noticed a little small patch of bumps on my chin. I just brushed it off as pimples. So I washed my face good and applied some masks...bad move! I woke up on Sunday with a HUGE HUGE rash all around my mouth, cheeks, and forehead. The itch, the oozing bubbles. OMG! MISERABLE!!!!!! What a great mothers day right?! So I couldn't go to the dermatologist until yesterday and yep I'm allergic to something now. Once it's healed I'm going in for an allergy test to figure out the cause. He thinks its something I ingested because it started around my mouth. (Spare you the really bad pictures!)
Aiden's reaction to the lotion on my face. "Mommy, youre a monster." Geez thanks!

My doctor visit buddy.
I NEVER want to go through this again. Today it looks like a bad sun burn but the tingle and itch are still there. My face feels so rough and leathery I hate it! Wish me a speedy recovery! I finally returned to work today because I don't feel too hideous.
On a brighter note, Wes and the boys got me the BEST Mother's day gift!! A Pandora charm. Wes (cough and the boys) did a GREAT job! I'm glad Pandora finally made one for boys because I always loved the daughter version. One side says "Mother" and the other "Son" and engraved on the silver it says "You and Me. Me and You". Perfect. Do anything for those 2 boys.
The rest of the day Wes did yard work. Cutting the grass, trimming and burning tree limbs, etc. What did I do...played with the boys. It was such a gorgeous day perfect for the sprinkler. The other day I picked up some water guns at the dollar store so me and Aiden put those to good use.
At first he got very upset he was wet, and wanted to take off him swim trunks "Momma, I'm wet! I need new shorts!" lol along with some crying, so to make him forget about it I told him to get me and that was that. Such a fun kid.

Brody was having fun chilling in his Bumbo and on a towel. We definitely have another outside loving kid. (I got GREAT LONG naps from both boys that afternoon! yah!)

Love the weather right now, it's hot but not too hot. We spend most evenings outside and eat our dinner outside before the mosquitoes come out. ;-)
Those two boys adore each other. Brody lights up whenever Aiden is around, and Aiden is always asking about Brody and wants him near. Just melts your heart. Lots of cuddles in bed while we read books before bedtime.

Brody 5 months

Better late than never right?! I really tested Brody too. These were taken after bathtime right before bed. Surprised more were cranky, and one I put him down in his bed it was LIGHTS OUT within 2 minutes. Oops! Bad Mommy keeping him up...
Stats:
Weight: 20.02lb
Height: 26.5in (could be wrong because it was a wiggly man)
Size 3 Diapers
12 months
Likes:
  • Jumping!! He just goes crazy on that thing! While Mommy cooks dinner he gets quite a good workout.
  • When you kiss his neck by his ear. Oh man does he giggle! Quite the cutest thing EVER! So of course it makes me do it more!!
  • Anything that crinkles. Talk about amazement and entertainment for hours...well more like 30 minutes but you get my point.
  • Pulling Big Bro's hair. (hey don't blame you! I would too if he were in my face all the time)

Dislikes:
  • Getting stuck on his back. He is a pro at flipping from your belly to back, but has a hard time flipping back to belly. Normally results in him getting very fussy.
  • When he scoots into a corner or gets between a chair leg making you unable to scoot backwards.
  • When Aiden wakes him up at the evening pickup. Without fail Aiden comes running over, gets in his face screaming "HEY BRODY!!!" I warn Aiden that Brody is sleeping, well the screaming wakes him up and Aiden says "See Brodys not asleep hes up." (slap my face. bc you screamed at him....)
Milestones:
  • Getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth
  • Eating a container of baby food.
Feeding:
4- 6oz bottles. 5am, 8am, 4pm, 8pm
1-4oz baby food. 12pm
I'll be working this month to make the 8pm a baby food feeding.

It's exciting times to watch him grow! He is just soaking in so much right now. Still my little sweetheart who still is the easiest baby ever! Totally a spoiled mommy! He goes to bed at the same time, and sleeps through the night. Never really fusses more than 10 minutes, because you can easily cheer him up or make him laugh. His laugh is infectious...nothing makes your heart melt more.

It makes me so so so happy to see how Aiden is good with Brody. When I was pregnant I REALLY worried about that...but now if we go somewhere Aiden always asks if Brody's coming and if I say "No" the reply is "Awww why not?!" Gets extra kisses from me. Such a sweet brother. Which leads me into my next picture.

Teachers

Next week is Teacher Appreciation week and I personally think my gift is AWESOME and didn't break the bank. I wish I could do more, but with 9 teachers that alot of gifts and I just saw $$! But I love the boys teachers so much especially since they have to deal with my little heathens at least 10 hours each work day!! hehe and I know that's some hard work!

Aiden's taught him to pee in the potty (they did the grunt work and taught me tricks), got his vocabulary where it needs to be, taught him to be such a good helper, etc etc etc! List goes on! It's so cute when we bump into them at the grocery store on weekends because Aiden gets so excited and waves or gives them a hug...coming from a Momma's boy who's normally sucked up to my leg shows he's comfortable with them. Happy Boy = Happy Mommy!

Brody's love on him so much, he beams his smile whenever we get there. I mean let's face it they change his poopy butt so that deserves a metal! hehe They are sure to capture every moment that I'm not there to inform me of Brody's milestones/movements and pictures to ease my heart when we part. Because of that I am grateful because in those moments when I'm sad because I think I'm missing something I know I'm not.

So I searched Pinterest for ideas and found some great ones. But key was I wanted items they would actually use/want/need. End result theme: Hands They are giving me a hand, so it fits perfectly.

Gifts

Best part about May? All those mailing lists I subscribe to send me some birthday love! I love me some discounts! But hands down the best? .....Well the GiGi free cupcake is pretty close. lol But no sweets for this one!......is Vera Bradley!

Most send like 20% off and well it pretty much is only 10% if you take tax out. But Vera? She sends $20 off of a purchase $20+!!! Kind of silly to not use that...and that I did! Proud owner of a new Packing Cube! Only spent $2.20 on that baby! {insert happy dance cause it's one of those nice to have but don't have to have, but I can DEF spend $2 on! lol} Going to use it for shoe storage when traveling.
Will go nicely with the gifts I told Wes to get me ;-) And thanks to a previous purchase Vera (yes, I keep acting like Vera is a real person hehe) sent me 20% off my next purchase. So hubby got it at a discount. All about a discount!
I fell in love with this print! Happy, lots of color, and I think the grey looks awesome/hold up better.
Since my parents listed their Birmingham house it's officially making Alabama a pass-through state. Kind of sad! So I decided it's time for me to have a nice set of travelling gear. My current makeup bag is hella old, gross, and too small. And I just have a rolling suitcase, but it takes up too much space in the trunk.

Now I can't wait for Saturday!! Get to spend most the day with just the hubby! Iron Man 3 matinee and then dinner at The Melting Pot (breaking my no sweet rule that day). I will miss the boys, but glad for the alone time.
