Let there be WATER

Yah for 3 day weekends!!!! We have been taking full advantage of it too! Mommy sure needed it after being on-call and working MAJOR production issues for 2 solid weeks. I'll be so happy to get rid of the support phone on Tuesday!! Then I'm off for 2 months! YAH!!!

This weekend has been beautiful! Friday, I got to leave early from work so I headed straight to get Aiden. Which he was soo surprised to see me so soon! I like sneaking up on him. :-) Then we headed over to Gabby and Grande's for family dinner. MMMM! Saturday we all slept in and headed outside! Wes went out first to cut the grass with the riding lawn mower. Then when he was done and started to use the push mower for the ditch and close spots we headed out. I hooked up his sprinkler that G&G got him for Easter and that's when the fun began!

His face was PRICELESS!! I love that kid so much! His shirt was SOAKED by the end of the afternoon. Yes, he's pantless I know....I figured he would like it better that way. He likes the water except when it shoots him in the face.

He kept going around the yard looking for daddy and would wave. So cute! He was so curious to see what he was doing, but was a good boy and obeyed Mommy when I said "Stop!" I didn't want him to get too close since he was cutting grass. That is one thing I happy about. He listens to Mommy.

Of course he had his best friend out there. Murphy and started throwing the tennis ball with him. We think he's going to be a lefty because that's the hand he likes to throw with. Everytime he would throw it then came the laughter and excitement that Murphy got it! Adorable!

I love days like these. Enjoying the outside and being together. Couldn't ask for me! That night Aiden went to spend the night at G&G so Mommy and Daddy could enjoy an adult meal and movie. :-) For some reason I have been cooking a lot of fish lately. Guess my brain is looking forward to our trip to Destin in 2+ weeks!! Last night was Tilapia with creole seasoning on top. DELICIOUS!!!! So simple to make and great with steamed veggies. 375 degrees for 25 minutes and all you do to the fish is put the creole seasoning on it. Nothing else. YUM! Tonight, I made crab cakes!! I prefer to saute them instead of frying them...so much better for you and I think it's better!

Big Boy Room Update: I got some new things for his walls! Which I'm loving and found dirt cheap! I got a new mat for the sailboat picture and painted the frame white. The mat was red and kind of was tacky. I got the other picture today and need to paint it white. All his frames are white, which will look good against his navy wall.

Another First

Using a spoon!

I decided why not...and he did pretty good for the first time!! Yah Aiden!! The results ending up by him eating about half of it. :-) This is his favorite meal ever, yogurt and granola chips! He was soo proud of himself and when I tried to take the spoon back to show him how to get more he would get upset basically say "NOOO Mommy I want to do it!" He's getting so big, Sad! Where's my baby!!??

He couldn't decide if the spoon or his hand goes in the container. lol so cute! So one hand was full of yogurt and the other hand was practically clean. Hilarious! He would hold out his "yogurt hand" basically saying "Hey Mommy want some?!" Silly boy! Right after this meal I picked him straight up, held him out, and carried him straight to the tub. And somehow I ended up getting yogurt on me....oh goodness!

Last week Grande and Gabby went to Missouri and brought back some goodies for the little man. This adorable and unique dinosaur. It's made out of wood and the head bobs up and down, and the tail moves back and forth. So cool! Aiden loves it! Awesome grandparents!!

These pictures were taken in April after Easter, but better late than never. We attempted to take pictures of him opening his basket outside but he had other plans. Double Fisting...Where did you get two sippy cups?! lol OHHHHH LORD!

Another random. I found this fabric and fell in love. So pretty! Either A. I'm gonna use it for bumpers / blanket for our next wee one if it's a girl or B. One of my lucky friends or sisters will get a blanket out of it! Either way someone is getting a GORGEOUS blanket! lol :-)

Lazy Song

So after long day in the office held captive. Literally, I was locked in a conference room from 10-5. OMG! So what brighten my ride home?!?! The LAZY SONG! Such a great car song! And yes....I totally was rocking out in the car.

"Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

No, I ain't gonna comb my hair
'Cause I ain't going anywhere
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no..."

On the way home after I got Aiden we headed over to the local Goodwill to check out their book section. Can't beat the prices .99-1.99 on practically new books! And I TOTALLY scored! Dr. Seuss books for .99!!! JACKPOT! The cheapest I have found those books are $5 and for the best sellers are $12. Mommy did great!

What did I get???
*Cat in the Hat Comes Back
*Oh, The Thinks You Can Think
*Oh, Say Can You Say Di-no-saur?
*Hop on Pop
*One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish
Awesome right?!?! 5 books for $5! Can't beat that!!! And they look brand new, no bent pages, and no writing/coloring. Perfect! New reading material before bedtime, which I'm excited about!

Why am I so excited about the books...well this is Aiden's birthday theme for next year. I know I know Allison it's a bit early, but one day when I was reading my favorite blogs I stumbled across this one and fell in love!

PARTY IDEA

I definitely will be doing a scaled down version of this party, but since Aiden loves cupcakes I will attempt make all the cupcakes! The cupcakes go along with the characters or books. People are so creative!

Green Eggs and Ham: Key Lime cupcakes

Horton Hears a Who: Raspberry Lemonade cupcakes with Lemonade frosting and pink cotton candy

Cat in the Hat: Root beer cupcakes-however they said they sucked so I'll do another flavor. The hat is made out of gummy savers, mint savers, and homemade white chocolate cookies.

Thing 1 & Thing 2: Angel Food cupcakes with cotton candy! MY FAV!!!

Sorry for the random post...but I'm really tired. I'm on call for the next 2 weeks and got woken up 2 times in the AM yesterday. BOOO so off to bed I go!

15 months!!

All these pictures were from his doctor visit (No more ear infection or pink eye! Only a little fluid in the ear because he's teething)....after the torture we endured for 30 minutes. OMG! Needless to say we got a new nurse. OMG! I think she just got out of school or something, all I know is I told the front office to never let me have her again. She had to do everything 3 times!!!! He was screaming, turning red, and going crazy! I felt so bad for his doctor who had to see him after all of it. He normally loves her, but this visit he wanted nothing to do with her. :-(

The thing that set me over the limit with the nurse was at the weighing station. He's still to small for the stand up scale, so we were at the baby station where he was sitting upright...and there I am trying to get his attention so he wouldn't hold on to the wall or fall. The weight was going from 30.01 to 30.05 to 30.09 up and down up and down...she is going "uhh uhh uhhh" trying to get him to be still so the number will stop moving. I'm like "uhh I'd say its 30.05"...then she goes to get another nurse for help all the while Aiden is starting WW3 on the machine....and the other nurse agrees with me! OMG!!! SERIOUSLY, he's a baby he will not sit still! And I don't think ounces matter has much as getting the pound right when trying to prescribe medication, and I'm not even a doctor. I'm not even going to go into the experience of trying to check his oxygen and pulse levels.....one word. IDIOT!

At least he got to let go of some frustration on the table paper. He shredded it like there was no tomorrow. HILARIOUS!!

Stats:
Weight: 30.05 pounds
Height: 32.5 inches
Size 5 diapers
24 month clothes and some 2T

Milestones:
*Got his first ear infection and pink eye! :-( He couldn't even get his 15 month shots yet because he was running a 100 temp because he's teething...poor baby!
*Becoming a little talker. It's still soft, sweet, and garble but I love every sound of it.
*Still a HUGE momma's boy! But I don't mind 98% of the time unless I'm trying to cook or clean....because baby at the feet and my clumsy butt equals trouble. :-)
*Picks up HUGE items like Wes' old stuffed bear and brings them to me. He is such a strong baby!
*Can drink out of a straw no problem at all!

Eating Pattern:
Still has 3 6oz bottles of milk a day. Surprising I have definitely seen a big curve in his appetite. He's not the little porker that he used to be. lol I know that's bad of me to say but literally I would feed him then he would be a catfish and go up to everyone else wanting food. For example 1 biscuit for him used to be nothing. It would eat almost 2 then feed off mine and Wes' plate too. Now he only eats 1, and barely that some days. However, if I pull out yogurt in the morning...he wants that container and my container too. He LOVES that stuff!!

Sleeping Pattern:
7-6:30. It's funny on Friday he knows ohh it's Friday so I can stay up later because we are at Gabby and Grande's...so he normally last til about 7:30 or 8. With that he thankfully let's mommy and daddy sleep in til 8am the next morning. Such a good baby!! I will say it again...thank you daycare!! This schedule is amazing and I am so thankful we don't have to fight with him anymore at bedtime. Mommy can finally have a breather after a long day at work and can do some cleaning during the week.

Likes:
*Pushing things. chairs/shopping carts/trash cans. He likes to show off his strength.
*Chasing Murphy around the kitchen table. Now he has started to run...which makes me worry that he's going to get dizzy. (We have a round table lol)
*Exploring in new places. If we are in a store he likes to wander off a little, but never too far from mommy, because I think it makes him feel like a big kid.
*Handing things to mommy and daddy.

Dislikes:
*Diaper changes. I don't think he will ever like this...
*When mommy puts me down when I'm being a needy baby.
*This is the weird one. The inside of sandwiches...I know. weird right! Most kids don't like the crust. But this little guy LOVES it. I have to make sure the piece I tear off has a little crust on it or he wants nothing to do with it. Those pieces get handed to Murph. Needless to say Murph LOVES Aiden. haha
