My Little Valentine

Post 2 of the day.
This past weekend I wanted to take Brody's 3 month photos...and I found this cute idea on Pinterest! Let me just tell you finding bright red lipstick that isn't $7 is HARD! Ever heard of play makeup? The Dollar Tree had a coral color, so that just had to do. I don't wear lipstick so I didn't want to spend a lot on something that I'd never use again.
We are going to have another "shoot" because midway through he was getting a bit drooly, so the lipstick started to smear. And I couldn't seem to catch the smiles. He would smile when the camera was put down (of course!)
Since Brody was out on Friday we didn't get his Valentines gift from school until today. Inside was this treasure!
The had to use a picture from his first day, because they said ever since then he doesn't cry like that anymore. Awww that makes me happy! and sad too because you can see his "I want my momma!" from Day1.

Fun Times

Long weekend, Long post.

Thursday night I noticed Brody was getting a little stuffy, so out came the saline and breathing machine. Then as Friday progressed so did his cough. The junk now moved into his lungs. I knew it was croup, but I  couldn't tell if it was more (haven't gotten used to his different coughs like I am with Aiden.) The breathing treatments helped alot, so I knew right there it might be bronchitis...which it was. He got 3 days of steroids and showed big improvement after day 1. I was concerned because on Friday his feedings were HORRIBLE and maybe drank 16oz all day, but by Saturday he was doing double time to regain the feedings he missed (porker that day). Little guy was starving!!
Even though he was miserable he still was the happy baby we all know. Loving all the attention from Mommy and Aiden even said "Brody can play with monkey." before he left for school. Awwww he shared one of his favorites...big deal!
Saturday we started our "dates" with Aiden....eventually it will be with both boys. But our plan is every other weekend we split the boys and spend quality time with just 1 for the day. So this time it was my turn since I needed to get out the house after being on lock down with Brody all Friday. The weather was actually bearable just a little chilly so we headed to the Zoo. Aiden was pumped! "Especially to see the monkeys, elephants, and giraffes!" At the entrance they have these animal statues and to celebrate Valentines Day they added hearts to them...awwww! So Aiden insisted to take a picture with BOTH elephants! lol

First stop. The monkeys! The gorilla was sitting next to the glass, so Aiden went crazy and was all up in his face. lol We had played "I spy a ...." all day. He loves when the orangutans hide under the props...."Momma! He's hiding! I wanna go hide!"
We finally make our way to the elephants and man I took a great picture of one...Wes was surprised I got it on my phone. Little RTR for the day!
Aiden's favorite thing to do there is visit the photo-booth, so we acted silly for a moment....Gotta teach him to hold the pose...And they DEF need to raise the seat!! Hard to pick him up at the camera's angle (weakling!)
Next stop the polar bear/seal exhibit. It was nearing lunch time so he wanted to snack on a rice crispy treat I packed. The polar bear was putting on quite a show and the kids were chasing him back and forth.
We finally made our way around to the cafe. Best part about the cafe? There is a small monkey exhibit next to it, so look out your window and BAM monkey! You know Aiden LOVES this! I even let him have "dessert"/candy before his meal. Man mommy is awesome today!
As we were walking out I gave him the option....Cats or Playground....I could have guessed the answer to that....

My job here was done, because this kid didn't even make it out of the parking lot before he was PASSED OUT! Go me!!
Saturday night rolls around and guess what?! Aiden woke up around 11 with a croup cough! LOVELY!! He slept HORRIBLE! Meaning me and Wes slept horrible. So he's back on a double treatment (albuterol and steroid)...I just moved him to just a steroid this past week...uuuugggghhh! Wes felt so bad for him that he gave up his spot in the bed.

Sunday Aiden still had a little cough and only woke up once. I woke up on Monday with him about 2 inches away from my face. Hello heart attack! haha "HEY Momma! You coming?!" (as he's grabbing my hand to lead me into the kitchen....)

Both boys were out of school on Monday, so I got the pleasure of working from home since Daddy was working that night...let's just say we watched Cars 2 a few times! ;-) We did escape the house during my lunch break so I could (sniff sniff) consign my maternity clothes. Kinda have mix feelings about that...happy because I won't be pregnant anymore and sad because I won't have another baby (Guess I will just have to rely on my friends and family to give me that holding a newborn/baby fix! lol). Both of them PASSED out on the way back....HATE when they do that because I know once I bring them inside the emotional cranky tired babies come out (pure torture and takes forever for them to fall back asleep!!). If I wasn't working I would have driven around for a bit longer...but I must have had a little grace on my side because once I brought Aiden in and placed him on the sofa. Lights out till 4! Praise the Lord! Not only did he not cough once but I got to work in dead silence!

I am happy to report BOTH boys slept peaceful all night last night. Not one single cough!! And Brody slept from 9pm to 4:30am!!!! That rest was much needed....he would have slept longer but what?! Aiden fell off the bed and started to cry causing a chain reaction. I really didn't want to feed him then in fear he would get hungry on our drive into town, but since there was no AM feeding I knew he wouldn't fall back asleep.

Catch up

2nd Post of the day.
Whats been going on in our house lately? Just been busy people...

Last weekend we got to spend a few hours with my nieces who live north of Nashville. Gabby was taking all the kids to Build a Bear for their Valentine's present. Of course Aiden picks up a rainbow bear (VERY girly), and I knew Daddy would be mad at me if I let him get it so I tried to explain it was for a girl and go pick again...wheew ended up with a puppy this time! He picked out a sound (dog barking), actually participated in the loving of the heart before inserting in the animal, and stuff and bathed him afterwards. (I kinda had a feeling he would be too distracted to participate, but he surprised me.) What outfit did he pick? Spiderman of course. lol
It was definitely a mad house 6 kids 2 adults. After we left I was so thankful for just 2 kids! haha Since Aiden listened in the store and behaved after each correction I let him ride on those rides in the middle of the mall. Of course all the kids wanted to ride and I became the cool auntie for a minute until the next scolding was administered. It was like these kids were all jacked up on Mtn. Dew! Pounding headache afterwards.

This week we had some silly bath times. Aiden apparently thinks I'm the funniest person EVER! I would make a sound whenever he would try to drink the water and well pure laughter. So Silly! Brody was looking at him like "What's so funny?!" Speaking of Brody...best bath taker EVER!! So nice not having to fight one to bathe. When it comes to the actual bathing part Aiden to this day acts like we are torturing him when we pour water on him. So weird!
Brody finally took a paci...for like 5 minutes!
Aiden got to use some of his birthday gift cards to get a new toy at the Disney Store. Of course it's Toy Story, he's been flying that space ship ever since we got it....even sleeps with it!
The real reason why we went to the Disney store was to pick up some items for Bella and Carlos' Disney trip (honorary auntie). It's their 1st time ever, so I wanted to make it memorable since we aren't going. Since they are driving down, 12+ hours, there I wanted to get some things to entertain them in the car. Perfect timing to go to the Disney Store too! Buy 1 Plush get 1 free! SCORE! I even found Mickey and Minnie water bottles on clearance, perfect to take in the park. The rest of the stuff came from the Dollar Tree (bucket, coloring book, crayons, chips, and candy.) Then I just pulled out my paint pen and used some stickers I had on hand. Finished for under $30!

We decided we will go to Disney when Brody is 5 that way they both can ride most of the rides. I can't wait...but dread the drive!!

Both me and Aiden got haircuts. This was his best visit yet. He kept telling the lady "Brody doesn't get his haircut. He's a baby. No haircut for Brody." haha lordy! I was trying to grow out Aiden's hair, but it was kind of driving me crazy how thick it was in the back and barely grew in the front. He looks so much older with short hair (Not sure why he's in this closed eyed stage....). I'm trying to grow my hair back long again, so I just got a trim and a few layers to make it not so heavy.
Lastly, for little over a month there has been a stray pit bull that's been sleeping under our house. Before I figured out it was the dog I was freaking out! He would hit pipes, the crackles of the vapor barrier, and the shakes of his body would have anyone thinking there are ghosts in your house. At first I thought it was mice in the attic, but then I realized it was coming from below. I was hoping he would move on...but each night he comes back.

There was only 1 occasion where we were close and literally FREAKED Aiden out! I was walking ahead of Aiden one evening with Brody in hand and Aiden came up behind me screaming and running "Big Puppy!"....which of course freaks me out! I'm thinking the dog is right behind me and is going to attack, but instead its out by my car just trying to figure us out. Well ever since then at bedtime Aiden says he's scared of the monster....what monster.....the puppy! LOVELY! So bedtimes haven't been that great for us.....BUT the dog was finally caught last night and barked ALL night! I'm sure my neighbors thought it was Murph....
But it's good he's caught, because the poor guy is really skinny, I think has ear mites always shaking his head, and has horrible bite marks around his neck sometimes bleeding.

Cant wait to celebrate V-day with the hubby this weekend. Sushi! Need some QT with him face to face instead of on the phone!

Brody 3 months

I can't believe we are at 3 months!! I feel like I was just having him! Stop growing up my peanut!
Stats (Taken at home, so might be a little off):
Weight: 17 pounds
Height: 24.75 inches
Size 3 diapers
9mo clothes
Likes:
  • Watching people
  • When Aiden kisses him at morning drop offs. (He used to hate it, but now he will smile and squirm in his seat)
  • Tummy time (Gives him a better view to watch)
  • Takes cat naps on Mommy's chest
  • Things in his mouth (Discovered his hands, so he LOVES sucking on the top of his hand. Blankets and bibs are good chew toys too)
Dislikes:
  • Being alone in a room.
  • When he wakes up from a nap and the bottle isn't ready immediately (doesn't hard cry its more like a pout cry with little tears. Breaks your heart but at least its not bloody murder cries that just make your head pound.)
Milestones:
Well we recently switched him to sleeping in his room, because he was sleeping through the night in ours....well different story there. He's now back at waking up at 1am and occasionally around 3:30am. Sad face! I was just getting used to a peaceful nights rest....
We also just changed his intake amount. He used to take 4oz bottles with a 6oz before bedtime but starting this week he's taking 6oz each time. Growth spurt coming?

Typical feeding schedule: 5am, 9am, 1pm, 4pm, 9pm...and occasionally a 1am bottle.

Ladies and gentleman we have a talker! He just loves to "talk" up a storm with Mommy. Especially when I pick him up from daycare and during diaper changes. Makes me smile big! He loves his momma! I swear he senses when I get back from working out....he will sleep for daddy the whole time (secretly I want him to be a handfull haha jk...or am i?!) and then when I get back he wakes up and wants some loving. Shower please first buddy!
Love his chunky little legs!
