Food

2nd post of the day.

I've been meaning to post these pictures. Little man and his food adventures. He still only will take down about a Tablespoon but we are making progress! One minute he LOVES it and BEGS for more. The next he making the funniest faces and spitting it out.
Momma this is NOT food!
Hey this isn't so bad! YUM
 MMMMMMMM
Wait......This taste like cardboard! Wait POISON!!!
Okay I'm still alive....maybe it's not so bad...
 UGH are we done yet?
All the while Aiden's on repeat "HEY! WHY DOES HE HAVE MY SPOON! THATS MINE!"......and so it begins....

Bloom

My 3 day weekend was WONDERFUL! First time in a long time it felt long! yah!!

What was this lady up to?! Planting and more planting! I will say this that brick flowerbed has some SERIOUS good soil! Earthworm madness! I've never seen so many worms!! It makes me so happy to say this is 98% done (Just need to add mulch!)

Sunday

Received Brody's pillow and LOVE IT! Now both boys have the same thing.
Now....lets get to the scary part of the weekend. BOTH boys took a spill.

Friday night both boys go to sleep and I hope in the tub for a relaxing soak.....or so I thought. 10 minutes later I hear a thud, Aiden screaming, Wes running in the room, Wes screaming for me to come in there....and I'm jumping out quickly dry and throw on my pjs run in their to see blood POURING out Aiden's nose and mouth.{ insert freak out moment }

Worrying he broke his nose or if he had a concussion. Hardwood and face plants do not equal good stuff. Finally able to calm him down and stop the bleeding we let him sleep in our room. Worst sleep ever.....when Brody woke up at 5am I was SOOOO thankful he went right back to bed because this mommy was tired. And extra thankful Aiden slept in till 9 (hands covered in blood from rubbing his nose).
Once our house was fully awake it was time for yard work. Aiden helped me, Wes cut the grass, and Brody was in his jumper looking through the sliding glass (didn't want him out there with all that pollen flying in the air-1st cut of the season). Aiden was busying making "sand" castles with the dirt in the wheel barrel. Even packed up the boys covered in dirt to head to Lowes to get a few things I needed (didn't care..)
Flash forward to Sunday. Our little roller. Yes Brody rolls. right off the bed! { insert freak out moment } Felt HORRIBLE afterwards. I just got up for a second to help Aiden turn on the light in the bathroom (literally like 15 sec) and BAM! I didn't realize we graduated to the rolling stage. See his poor little forehead. :'''(
He took it like a champ and stopped crying immediately after I picked him up and I spent the rest of the day watching him like a hawk to make sure he was acting normal or it was off to the doctor for us. But thankfully he was back to his normal happy baby self.

Stingrays

This past weekend the sun FINALLY decided to come out after 3 or 4 solid weekends of rain. So we packed up early to head to the zoo. I was determined to let Aiden see the stingrays. Guess what we did and OMG! Aiden LOOOVED it! He got to touch and feed them.
"Momma it splashed me!" Along with some screams and lots of jumping.
What's Brody up to? A little snoozing, a little flirting, and a little relaxing.
Brother let him borrow his glasses because it was quite sunny. Aiden requested to wear them when he woke up on Saturday too ("partied" to hard at Gabby and Grande's the night before). lol
We stopped by our favorite stops.
Then quickly had to head out to Conner's birthday party. After a very long day we finally made it home before Daddy had to head off to work. Aiden likes to watch him leave so he can wave to him. It was his last weekend to work! YAH!!
After a long Saturday there was lots of chores to do on Sunday, so we didn't leave the house. Aiden refused to take a nap and ended up passing out on my leg around 6pm while we were watching the Sofia the First movie. Changed him into his pull-up, moved him into our bed, and not one peep or wakeup. This boy was OUT!
This coming up weekend will be great! Much needed mommy timeout so I can get my nails done with my girl friends and hopefully I can plant ALL my new shrubs  (my luck I'm going to run into lots of tree roots). Thursday I'm taking off work so me and Wes can spend some time together. We will still have Brody, but won't have the constant 50 million question boy to deal with  ;-) So it will be peaceful alone time.

Solved

I finally have an answer. I would say over the past 3 years my scalp has been EXTREMELY itchy. What I just thought was a dry scalp wasn't really the answer. Then I noticed about a year ago behind one of my ears there was this raised rough patch that I couldn't explain. And wearing black shirts is a nuisance because if I run my hands through my hair there's flakes. But no matter how much Head and Shoulders I used it couldn't help it. Quite annoying and frustrating and embarrassing at times.

So I went to the dermatologist...drumroll.......I have Scalp Psoriasis. Thanks immune system!! I have a mild case, but I have it. I have to use Coal Tar Shampoos, which by the way STINK, 2 times a week! And at all cost avoid scratching (have to take an antihistamine to help aid) because it only makes it worse and try to remove stress from my life. ha good one right remove stress...yeah I'll get right on that buddy?! Oh and did I mention I have to do this forever....blows!

What my scalp looks like if I miss a T-gel shampoo day.

What my scalp looks like after using just the T-gel shampoo.
So how do I treat my psoriasis?
  • Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo Extra Strength
  • Normal conditioner to try and mask the T-Gel smell (ends only)
  • Shower in cool water (which is SOOO hard because I love hot showers)
  • No more hair dryers and if necessary on cool setting (which for my thick hair would take a million years to dry on cool so I air dry)
  • Constantly washing my hair brushes after each use
  • Tea Tree oil treatments (every 2 weeks, only on weekends bc it makes my hair sooo oily)
  • Apple cider vinegar rinses after oil treatments and weekly 30min bath soaks with the 2cups of cider too
  • Fish oil pills 2x a day
I am happy I have an answer and ways for some relief, but managing it can be consuming. Right now we are trying the non-script natural route, so hopefully I can keep it under control. Luckily I'm only affected on the back of my head, ear to ear and down. You would be surprised how many people actually affected by this disease, so it's good to know I'm not alone in my pain.

Don't I look just adorable soaking in my oil?! Lol I'll probably create a page to discuss my journey and product reviews. Live and learn process but I hope to escape from the constant itch and pain.
