Brody 6 months

Just a little late. haha!

Call him the paper destroyer! Eventually we gave up putting new paper out, because .05 seconds later it was shredded and in his mouth. haha
Stats:
Weight: 21 pounds
Height: 27.5 inches
Size 3 Diapers
12 month clothes
Likes:
  • Anything that crinkles.
  • Daddy. He is a daddy's boy! Lights up when Daddy is around.
  • Being tickled, right under his armpits....nothing is sweeter than that laugh!
  • His Sully lovie, especially when Mommy makes it attack me!
  • Shake his head back and forth when I say "No no no!"
Dislikes:
  • Being on the living room floor when Aiden and Mommy are in the kitchen.
  • Bumping my head! Experienced my 1st boo boo this month thanks to crawling!
  • Changing clothes.
  • Being in the crib when hes awake.
Milestones
  • Army crawling!! Everywhere and anywhere! You just follow Aiden and me all through the house and slap the hardwoods to make your presence know (like "HEY! I made it over here!!!")
  • 2 front teeth
  • Babbling back when I talk to him. Such a talker!
  • Moved into Aiden's room. (I was worried at first, but its been AMAZING so far! It's so cute to see them interacting in bed, Brody will be staring at Aiden and Aiden will talk to Brody. If Brody's crying Aiden will say "Brody its okay. Its okay Brody you can go to bed." And surprisingly Brody will stop. Melts your heart!)
Eating Pattern:
3- 6oz bottles. 5am, 9am, and 4pm
2-4oz bottles. 12pm and 7pm
2-4oz baby food. 12pm and 7pm

I tried making the 7pm strictly food, but you have a hard time sleeping all through the night. But we will keep trying once you stop having teething issues. My good sleeper is now waking up once a night around 2am...but daddy is all over that!

Swim

Aiden had his first swim lesson ever this month! For 2 weeks Mon thru Thurs we were up at our YMCA.
Day 1 Grande took him so he wouldn't be a chicken.

Day 2 He cried at first, but eventually warmed up to the idea. All the other moms were like "He didn't act like that yesterday..." Yes when Mommy is around he's very timid unless I say its okay.
I will say one thing sitting in the inside pool area was like being in a sauna. SOOO hot!!!! The other moms kept commenting every day how good Brody was just sitting there like a champ and watching. Gotta love that cute kid!
Aiden's reward for doing a good job at swim was going to play outside in the "cool" pool as he likes to say. I must say it is quite a cool pool! It's more like a splash park because the shallow end only comes up to Aiden's chest. We did have quite a few meltdowns when I wouldn't let him go down the slides...but other than that each day I could see his love for the water grow!
Exactly what I was looking for. He now wants to swim at Gabby and Grande's all the time.

Even Brody and myself joined him in the outside pool some days. Way to hot to just sit there. Funny how opposite Aiden and Brody are. I have to push Aiden in the water and Brody...well he's a water baby. As soon as you put him in the water hes trying to swim off just a kicking and moving those arms. Loves the water!
We will definitely do this every year until Aiden is a GREAT swimmer!

Slack

Well I have lots of posts that sitting in draft....promise I will finish them over the weekend, so look for a overload! :-)

But I have finished a couple things..prepare to laugh but I have finished editing BOTH boys birthday party invites. haha OCD much? Turned out pretty awesome considering all I used was Paint and Word. No need for a fancy Photoshop program :-)

Aiden requested a "Hulk Spider-man" party....I was like ehhhhhh well.....can we invite the other guys?! Big pause. "YEAH!" This year we are letting him invite his school friends, so it should be wild and crazy. Thanks to Target and all the seasonal Justice League gear and clearance Spider-man plates I've been able to save a lot. (It was SOOOOO weird typing "FOUR"!!! When did he get so big?!?!?!)

Memorial Weekend

We had an AMAZING weekend over here! Although I did miss Aiden. lol He slept over at Gabby and Grande's for 3 days so he could see his nieces who were in town. Ever since they came in town he actually asks to sleep over there now. Big step, which shocks us all!! Still a momma's boy but he's letting loose a little....
The whole weekend we were outside (BTW the Honest Company bug spray works like a charm, but def is a little on the stinky side. lol Aren't they all?!). Saturday we had a cookout with friends and family and swam. Well everyone but Aiden and Harlee did (He starts swim lessons next Monday, so post to come...). As soon as you tried they wanted out.
My water balloon fight was a success! Until Steve, Wes, and Tyler started to aim them at me and Ciarra.....We had nothing to throw back....but don't worry we ran an "errand" and restocked at my house and blitz attacked them hehehe. Aiden and Harlee thought the shaving cream filled ones were more fun to pop themselves, so many of them were thrown on the ground and stepped on or pinched until they popped. lol Silly kids! Carlos chickened out in the whole thing.
Sunday the ladies took the kids to the zoo. Man was it hot! Nothing an Icee can't fix. lol Aiden was a little cranky at first...threw a fit because he couldn't get the tattoo on his face (since they are spray tattoos they can only go everywhere but the face....). But quickly turned around once we reached the sting rays. He just LOVES touching them! After a full day there everyone had the best nap ever!

Aiden was not a fan of the splash area. Especially when Mommy pushed him into the sprayer! hahaha I'm that mom ;-) Most the pics were of him running away or on the edge.
Me and Ciarra even squeezed in a little alone time for sushi that evening! Nice to get away from the kids...

Monday involved more playing, face painting (FYI don't try the Pinterest Pin of the lotion and washable paint....the consistency is not good), and then goodbyes. Aiden wanted to be the Hulk, and well turned out more like a zombie...

So now we will look forward to the next visit from the girls.

Milestones.
We are FULL of milestones in the house too!!
Aiden
  • Started the 4 yr old class. The first drop off was hard until he saw Adyson was in there! After school I asked him who he sat by and goes "Savannah and Katie!" Ohhhh you sit by girls...... "Yeah.... (being all shy and cute)" Lucky boy to be surrounded by girls. Adyson watch out! hehehe
  • Started wearing shoes with laces. This summer we are going to work on tying them himself.  (BTW I ended up getting these for $8!!! They were half off then I had a "Out of Stock" coupon for $4 off. The store out by our house didn't have his size in stock, but the store out by my work did so they have my a coupon if we bought it from there. Score! Not like I was driving out of the way, pass it everyday. So sure I'll take that extra discount. The boy needed new "Running" shoes! lol He's allowed to RUN in them, not sandals.)

Brody
  • Both his top front teeth popped through (CRANKY BABY ALERT!!!! Who refused to sleep in his bed away from Mommy, who is fighting off a sinus infection. Ughhhhhhh!)

  • Moved to a big boy car seat like brother, who threw a fit at first...."Thats MY seat! That goes in Daddy's car"....ugh! (no more infant seat)

  • He sat up by himself for over 5 minutes! Would have gone longer, but was getting cranky because he couldn't figure out how to get to his belly to crawl. lol

  • We officially have a crawler on our hands. EKK!
  • Baby food eating machine (Eats a full container in 1 sitting now. Used to barely eat half.)
