Brody's Here!!

It's 4:30am Monday morning and we are up and getting ready to head to the hospital. After getting checked in they send us to a delivery room to change, stick me, and monitor Brody until the OR is ready. Why are my veins so hard to get?! They had trouble with last time too. I got stuck in each hand, on the side of one hand, until they decided to just go at my inner elbow (where I always give blood). What does that mean for those missed shots....bruises and pain from when they were twisting the needle in my arm trying to get one. ugh!

We head back at 7:42am. Next begins the fun part (not!) where they get you on the table and ask you to lean forward so they can stick you in the back. Mini panic attack because you feel as if you are going to fall off, even if there are 2 nurses supporting you. Man when that drug gets pushed in the numbness begins....from my belly to my toes. All I feel is just a little pressure but nothing more. Now its time to get Brody out.

Wes comes in and sits next to me...then it hits me...I threw up twice. So Wes is over there catching it and sucking it out of my mouth. Didn't do that last time...Next comes the funny part the anesthesiologist tells Wes to get the camera ready to get the pictures of him coming out. hahaha I told her could she take the pics because he doesn't need to see that (as he has a panic look on his face) haha. Here is a picture that isn't too disturbing (That's his head coming out first).
I get to hear those sweet cries and Wes goes over to the baby table as they complete all their checklists while I'm getting my tubes tied. Finally I got to see my sweet boy like 30 minutes later. This time I asked them to relax on whatever drug makes you loopy and just do the numbness one so I was more aware what was going on this time. Since it was my last time I wanted to be more awake. Live and learn.
Next I get wheeled off to the recovery room for an hour and finally getting to spend some QT time with Brody. I was shocked how much hair he had! Now comes the annoyance of having the IV in my inner elbow. I swear I set the alarm off at least 30 times. Kind of hard to hold a baby and not bend your elbow.
So the stats.
Arrived at 8:06am. 9lb 13oz and 20.5in. He was 3oz bigger than Aiden but it didn't feel that way probably because he's head is smaller. You know what the first thing I said when I got to hold him. hahaha "Awww yes! Maybe he will actually be able to wear hats!" hahaha
He already loves his mommy and enjoys sleeping on me. Now if we could only get his brother near him...(I'll go into that in another post)

We are leaving tomorrow from the hospital I decided to take that extra day since he's getting circumcised at the moment. And just to make sure I'm able to be productive when I get home.

They had me walking Monday night (can you say pain!?) But the real pain was on Tuesday. They took off all the bandages and tape. That tape felt like duck tape and the pain MISERABLE...and I was expected to walk and every time I moved it felt like I was ripping open. Lovely sight right?! And forget about crying because you use your abs for that, which only makes it more painful. Lose Lose situation.

Thank goodness for this belly band. I took my first shower yesterday and boy was I tender. And getting out of the bed was a feat! But last night it was easier getting in and out and today it has been MUCH better, so I'm figuring tomorrow will be even better!

I can't wait to go home and be with all 3 of the guys in my life. Miss Aiden so much!!!
