Wreck

What was a typical evening turned out to be the scariest thing ever! I was involved in a car accident. I am okay and the boys weren't with me. But it was definitely something I don't want to experience again.....Thursday and Friday I was in shock and my body was very tense...and now I get the joy of dealing with insurance (hopefully it will be a simple and painless process...but only time will tell so far I must say it's been easy).

My poor car was totaled (get the official word today, but the body shop told me this morning that they think its unrepairable since my engine shifted). And if anyone knows I LOVED my car! Sad day!

And what bothers me is after speaking with State Farm I think I'm getting blamed for it, and got a lovely mandatory court appearance "Failure to maintain lookout" citation. I feel like I was in the right, it was the other idiot driver to blame. Driving like mad person on a 7 lane road when everyone knows that is a CRAZY street! UGH! They were trying to dodge a car that was slowing down in the slow lane because they were turning where I was pulling out. I never saw the bug (blue car) behind the civic (white car) when I noticed they were turning....that's because the blue car gunned it once they turned onto the street I was crossing trying to beat the cars turning left at the traffic light. And how again is this my fault?!  Dang teenagers!

I was approaching the turn lane so I wasn't going fast and well they knocked me so hard it looks as if I was turning right...I was definitely turning left...So for now I will enjoy this rental until I get the official word and in the meantime begin car searching....UGH!

Lesson learned. Do not turn left and drive the extra feet down to the traffic light. (Don't worry I won't be the driver that never turns left. lol Although the thought did cross my mind. ;-) )

Memphis drivers are the worst! People say LA and ATL.....they've never driven in Memphis. I've done it all and ours are the worst. You have to be VERY defensive for the idiots who never turn on their lights in the rain...heck in the dark; drive fast when it's raining hard or ice on the road; and pray if you do get in a wreck the other person has insurance, because SOOO many do not. Off my soapbox. Stay safe everyone!!
