What happens in Nola....

Thanks to my awesome MIL me and Aiden got the chance to go to New Orleans two weeks ago! It was a much needed trip! We had a blast, and I swear Aiden is one well travelled baby.

Back to the saying, "What happens in Nola...Stays in Nola!" Literally! We went down with his fav monkey paci...and it didn't come back. It's somewhere on the streets of Nola....along with the replacement paci. UGH! At least we are trying ween him of it....

Aiden is such a good traveller and slept most the time, except when he has pooped. lol WW3 starts...but if I were him I would be crying too! As soon as we got there I needed to change his clothes and we headed off to Cafe Du Monde and then Pat O's for dinner and drinks. Great way to start the trip huh?! Aiden didn't care to much about eating surprisingly....he was more concerned with watching all the people and birds. So he became the official people watcher. :-) And of course there was some flirting in there too.

And no I didn't get him that paci :-)

While Regina was at her conference on a stormy day me and Aiden headed over to the Aquarium! Apparently everyone had that idea because the ticket line was FOREVER long! But this gave Aiden ample time to people watch. He loved watching all the little kids, just soaking it all in and laughing with them.

It was a pretty nice Aquarium. Nothing like Atlantas, but just big enough to waste some time. Aiden loooved the tunnel. His head kept going back and forth watching all the animals floating over our heads. The face was priceless. Most the trip he was chillaxing in his stroller just soaking it all in.

The day before we left I learned more about Nola then I ever knew. It's such a neat town. I love the history and architecture! To die for! We took a walking tour of the art district, seeing all the beautiful homes (stalked some famous people like Sandra Bullock, Archie Manning, and Nicholas Cage) and went to a cemetery! Who would have ever thought a cemetery would have been sooo breathe taking. The way they bury family is kinda neat and I totally like the idea. Aiden was a good little trooper even when the sun got in his eye, but don't stop or the whining began. But he did great! Taking a tour really made me want to go visit Charleston. On my list! Maybe one day just me and Wes can go when we are old and Aiden is in college. :-)

After a full day of exploring New Orleans outside of the French Quarter we had to stop and take pictures of Jackson Square as the sun was going down and take a carriage ride. Whoever decided to build steps across from the church was genius! Turned out for some great shots! As you can see Aiden is learning to wave, which is more of a reach right now. lol Silly boy!

After picture time we put Aiden down to explore and he saw some other boys playing and he started to smile SO big and walked toward them. He just loves kids! After play time it was time for the carriage ride....which turned out to be Aiden's first time to see a mule! SOOOO CUTE! We walked over and one of the mules stuck his head out close to us and Aiden was freaking out like "WHOA! Mommy WHAT is that!!!!!????" then I started to pet the mule and Aiden wanted nothing to do with it. He just kept giving him the stare down and was on guard. During the ride, this was another time I got to stalk celebrities named Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. :-)

It was a fun trip, but after I needed another week to recover. Aiden's separation anxiety was kicked in to high gear that week and Mommy was EXHAUSTED after.
