I've been working on a few projects for my friend Brittany's baby shower! Ekk! Can't wait for that little guy to arrive. August hurry up!
Since we are having it at my in-laws (able to hold 26 guests there unlike mine or Erica's house), we wanted to do something cute for the fireplace mantle since that's where the gift opening will take place. After much research we came across this cute idea...but $22 bucks. I think not. How much was ours? Nothing! I used leftover burlap from my football wreath, and already had the yarn and paint. Awesome! Love how it turned out.
Next every girl needs a door wreath! We opted to making it instead of spending money on one so we could resource that to something else. So we researched and found the inspiration. It's made out of wood but that we don't have around...so we used burlap and fabric. I just finished painting the burlap, so it's still a work in progress but love it!
The one thing I did finish was my 1st ever diaper cake. Making it was REALLY easy, not too time consuming. but decorating was much harder in my opinion. Why? Because all the How-To's said to use safety pins or push pins...but why would I want to poke holes in the diapers??!! So I used tape. It works just don't touch. Ha! Learned the hard way. So what's included? Btw I stink at cutting cardboard wow it's rough looking....Oh well hopefully everyone will be looking at the goodies instead.
- 2 sippy cups
- 75 diapers
- 4 receiving blankets
- 1 wubbanub pacifiers (Aiden's fav paci...btw believe it or not the cheapest place to find is Babies R Us. Online about $12 BRU under $10.)
- 1 Sophie the giraffe teething toy
- 2 pairs of newborn shoes
- 1 travel tube of:
- Johnson and Johnson baby wash
- Baby sunscreen
- Boudreaux's butt paste
- Dial hand sanitizer
- 1 tube of Medela nipple cream (This was one thing I didn't receive at my showers must less knew I needed...and OMG after the 1st 2 days it's a MUST for breastfeeding mommies!! Sorry TMI but want to share my "wealth" of knowledge)
Leave with a cute picture of Aiden from today. In preparing for our beach trip I knew Aiden needed a hat, but he hates floppy ones...think he might like this one!! hehe He is growing up so fast.
