I can officially see the light at the end of the tunnel. After an exhausting weekend I'm very much looking forward to my maternity leave.
Saturday I headed up to the zoo with Gabby, Aiden, Carlos, and Bella. All that walking sure wore me out, but I wanted to do something fun with Aiden. It was all decorated for Zoo Boo so that was neat. Our fav part was the monkeys. They were playing with pumpkin buckets (placed on their heads, thrown, etc) then there was a "ghost" monkey playing peekaboo with a sheet. Aiden's face was priceless! Adorable. We had a 2 meltdowns, but I was able to quickly straighten him out. (Picture time: Trying to get the boys to make silly faces was quite hilarious too)
My fav part of the zoo is the polar bear and seal exhibit. Hello AC and comfy seats!! The kids were enjoying their ICEES and running back and forth chasing the seals. I tried to get a picture, but that's alot to ask for a cellphone camera. lol But this cute picture was as we were telling them it was time to go...total "Mommy I don't wanna!" face. Pouty face.
We ended the day at Hueys and quickly came home to pass out for the night....or at least I thought so. Aiden woke up at 8pm, when I was trying to go to sleep since I had to be up at 12:30am. He wanted to be with Mommy so there we are in bed and him constantly telling me what Curious George is doing. Then he fell asleep. Oh but wait he woke up at 10pm, which woke me up for a minute. Then by the time my alarm was going off he was passed out, so I snuck out into the living room to go log into work. Only to be startled by Aiden screaming for me at 3am. He came into the living room and wanted to lay on me. (DEF not comfy since Brody was being a pain too.) There I am for about 3 hours miserable, getting dead legs/feet, tired beyond belief and having to "be on" to work.....Aiden finally passed out at about 6am, Brody started to calm down, and I was just finishing up my work. But I had to be on-call until 9am when my relief got on.....couldn't come soon enough and of course something would happen right at 9 causing me to stay on for another 30 minutes. And you better believe Aiden woke up soon after.
If you could only imagine I wasn't a happy person to be around and I was really trying to not lose it. So I told Wes if he doesn't leave the house with Aiden so I can relax I can't be held responsible for what I do or say. lol. I was beat down and needed to sleep. And sleep I did. I didn't wake up till 5pm.
Monday I was off work since I worked on Sunday, which was nice since I needed to do lots of laundry. So I dropped Aiden off at school and headed to my doctor's appt. Good report. Brody passed his BPP test and my fluids were the same. We didn't get any good shots of him (sleepy baby with his face turned into me). Next we checked my cervix, which was thick as can be and Brody is currently breeched. So we crossed out the chance of me going into early labor.
What does this all mean? Next week at my high-risk OBGYN appt if nothing drastically changes we can cross out the Oct 29th delivery date. And finalize if I need to go on the 5th or can wait to the 12th. See the light yet?!?! I will be so happy to get my body back and be able to shave my legs. haha Surprisingly I can still touch my toes, but shaving is a whole other story! (thank goodness we are out of summer clothes so I don't have to do it as much)
As the end is coming near I'm slowly getting Brody's room finalized. Thank goodness I did alot of it beforehand. Washing items I will need right away, cleaning bottles, and most important signing up for Netflix streaming. haha If I'm going to be stuck at home for almost 2 months mainly stuck in a chair breastfeeding I need to have a show to watch. With Aiden it was "Lost"...I'm thinking for Brody it will be "Law and Order: SVU". I must say Netflix has greatly improved on their selection too.
See the light yet!? It really hit home as I had my last 1on1 with my manager for the year Tuesday. Feels so weird to be "done".

Other news: Can't wait for this weekend!! Sunday is girls days with my fav ladies! My feet and hands def need some attention. Saturday is the big UT/Bama game! Have to get my bragging rights when you're surrounded by so many UT fans. lol But before all that I'm going on an adventure with Aiden. We are off to the Agricenter's Harvest Festival. (Face painting, pumpkin painting contest, hayrides, bluegrass music, carnival games, bounce house, cotton candy, popcorn and more for FREE!!!) Aiden will get to take home a pumpkin of his own too! Gotta love the Free part!
We've been going since Aiden was born.
