Santa's Workshop

Santa's workshop has already begun.

I won't share on every little detail just yet, but hands down best gift. Since only Santa is coming to our house this year I wanted to make it special (We decided the kids won't start getting presents from us until they stop believing in the big guy. Maybe that will help decrease the present overload that we experienced last year. 2 kids = madness!)

The game plan. A kitchen and table.
Who says kitchens aren't for boys?! Maybe Aiden/Brody are a future Bobby Flay?! I just want to expand their creativity everywhere. Aiden looooves to help me in the kitchen and plays with them at school, so why can't he have one for himself? I don't view it as a girly thing...because lets face it the world is different and men DO cook now!

I really can't stand plastic toys so I began hunting for a "manly" kitchen. Manufacturers should really target this clientele. But I found one. IKEA to the rescue! Duktig Mini Kitchen Luckily me it was on sale for $99! How cool is that stove! Lights up! But of course you know me...it's a little blah. Great if you love the minimalist look. But I could see it had so much more potential. Now take a gander at my wonderful Paint skills (too lazy to do it in Photoshop, but you still get the idea).

Now...where to store all the food. Can you believe refrigerators are like the same price as the kitchens. Sorry but that's just too much for a box! Luckily I found a replacement idea thanks to this link!! I can do $15 Ikea Apa box.
I'll go in more detail about the food when I finish...lots of little projects within the year.

Now seating. $19 Ikea Latt table. Pretty boring huh? Recycling leftover paint and a little wrapping paper will make this flow nicely.
Thanks for visiting Santa's workshop....and thanks to Ikea for shipping everything in pieces because now I can paint without Aiden having a clue to what I'm making!! Sneaky Sneaky!
